Abstract

Background In Indonesia, only 58% of principals meet managerial competency standards, fostering a supportive culture is essential to bridge leadership gaps and align with national education goals. Purpose This study explores how organizational culture enhances the performance effectiveness of elementary school principals, focusing on core values like collaboration, innovation, and inclusivity. Design/method/approach A qualitative case study design was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews involving principals and teachers from diverse elementary schools. Purposive sampling ensured representation of urban and rural contexts. Thematic analysis identified patterns in cultural practices and their impact on leadership effectiveness. Results Organizational culture, characterized by trust and shared decision-making, plays a crucial role in enhancing principal performance by fostering motivation and minimizing resistance to change. In this context, principals function as “cultural architects,” employing transformational leadership practicessuch as mentoring and participatory meetings to instill and strengthen core values within the school environment. However, contextual challenges, including resource disparities, demand adaptive cultural strategies, particularly in rural schools where emphasizing mutual cooperation becomes essential for sustaining progress and achieving shared goals. Contribution/value The study contributes by highlighting how organizational culture grounded in trust and shared decision-making significantly enhances principal performance through transformational leadership practices.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation driven by Industry 4.0 and Society 5.0 has placed significant pressure on educational institutions to modernize their operations. While Management Information Systems (MIS) are widely recognized as essential for centralizing and streamlining institutional processes, many schools continue to rely on fragmented, siloed systems that limit efficiency and strategic impact. Previous studies have largely focused either on individual perceptions of technology use or on student outcomes, leaving a gap in understanding how MIS integration holistically influences institutional performance. This study addresses that gap by examining the integration of digital technologies within MIS and its impact on both operational efficiency and competitive advantage in the education sector. Using a qualitative, instrumental case study design, data were gathered from five Jakarta-based schools through interviews, observations, and document analysis. Findings indicate that moving from isolated systems to an integrated, cloud-based MIS enhanced efficiency across time, cost, and workflows, while also ensuring higher data accuracy and enabling evidence-based decision-making. These gains directly translated into stronger institutional reputation, improved stakeholder services, and greater organizational agility. Success was strongly supported by visionary leadership and comprehensive training, whereas resistance to change, technical glitches, and infrastructural limitations posed challenges. The study contributes a holistic, empirically grounded model that links MIS integration to both operational and strategic outcomes. By bridging theoretical potential with practical evidence, it offers valuable insights for educational leaders formulating digital transformation strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to find out how to improve students' academic achievement during the implementation of blended learning in the era of the covid-19 pandemic. Blended learning has been implemented long before the COVID-19 pandemic. However, its implementation and implementation is not optimal. The beginning of the emergence of the pandemic made learning completely online. Currently, learning is slowly being carried out using blended learning, namely face-to-face and online. Online learning, which is used to be done at this time, has actually reduced students' academic achievement. In addition to declining academic achievement, students' motivation and interest in learning also decreased. This is because students feel bored with online learning that cannot meet face to face. The decline in academic achievement is also influenced by several factors including the lack of parental attention when students are learning, the internet network is not supportive, the learning environment is not conducive, the role of educators is less effective in managing the classroom, and the student management system is not good. Student management and collaboration and collaboration with parents are always applied in order to produce student outputs that are able to compete in global competition. The method used in this research is a qualitative method with a literature study approach. Sources of data obtained are secondary data sources, where the information obtained comes from books, journals, and others.

Abstract

Background The convergence of educational transformation, technological advancement, and the preservation of ethical values presents a significant challenge for higher education institutions, particularly in delivering Islamic economics education that remains faithful to its foundational principles amidst the Society 5.0 era. Purpose This study investigates the convergence of educational management strategies, technology-enhanced pedagogy, and Islamic economics principles within Indonesian higher education institutions to understand how digital transformation reshapes the pedagogical ecosystem of Islamic economics education. Design/method/approach Employing an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design combining quantitative surveys (n = 387) and qualitative semi-structured interviews (n = 24) across six Islamic higher education institutions, the research examines the relationships between digital transformation and educational outcomes in Islamic economics. Results The quantitative findings reveal that technology-integrated educational management significantly predicts student learning outcomes in Islamic economics (β = 0.47, p < .001) and sharia financial literacy (β = 0.39, p < .001). Structural equation modeling indicates that digital pedagogical competence mediates 34.2% of the variance in student engagement with Islamic finance concepts. Qualitative thematic analysis identifies four emergent themes: institutional readiness for digital transformation; alignment of the curriculum with Islamic values and technological innovation; the role of learning management systems in fostering sharia-compliant understanding of financial matters; and stakeholder perceptions of technology-mediated Islamic economics instruction. Contribution/value The study proposes an integrative Triple Helix framework, Educational Management, Educational Technology, and Islamic Economics (EM-ET-IE), offering a novel theoretical contribution for designing sustainable, value-based digital learning ecosystems. These findings carry significant implications for policymakers, educational administrators, and curriculum designers seeking to reimagine Islamic economics education while preserving its foundational ethical principles.

Abstract

BackgroundDespite the growing body of research on leadership styles in educational contexts, limited scholarly attention has been devoted to examining how servant leadership specifically influences academic quality through the mediating role of learning satisfaction in teacher education faculties. PurposeThis study investigates the interplay between servant leadership, learning satisfaction, and academic quality among education students in higher education institutions. Design/method/approachEmploying a qualitative library research design, this study systematically reviews and synthesizes peer-reviewed journal articles, academic books, and policy documents published between 2019 and 2025. The research procedure involves comprehensive literature identification, thematic categorization, and iterative data analysis through reduction, classification, comparison, and synthesis. Source triangulation and cross-referencing of theoretical positions ensure the trustworthiness of findings. ResultsThe results reveal three principal themes: servant leadership fosters a supportive academic environment that enhances student engagement and motivation; learning satisfaction serves as a critical mediating mechanism linking leadership practices to academic outcomes; and the synergistic interaction between servant leadership and learning satisfaction produces a compounding positive effect on academic quality. This study proposes an integrative conceptual framework demonstrating the interconnected pathways through which servant leadership and learning satisfaction collectively shape academic quality. Contribution/valueThe findings contribute to educational management theory by addressing the identified research gap and offering practical implications for faculty leaders seeking to enhance academic quality in teacher education programs
