Abstract

Prayer is a subjective experience that requires solemnity, by seeking a state of mindfulness and minimizing the state of mind wandering so that the prayer is done optimally. This study aims to explore the role of spirituality and religiosity to increase mindfulness and minimize mind-wandering in prayer activities, in Islamic preachers. Analysis was conducted through mixed method explanatory sequential analysis, using quantitative data with Multiple linear regression and qualitative data with Thematic analysis. Qualitative data (n = 3) was used to explore the experience of the meaning of mindfulness and mind-wandering conditions during prayer which was tested using quantitative data (n = 66). The quantitative analysis showed that mindfulness was negatively correlated with mind-wandering in prayer and that religious salience predicted mindfulness. Meanwhile, the experience of mind-wandering in prayer can be explained more qualitatively. There are 3 major themes regarding the experience of mindfulness and mind-wandering as well as the role of spirituality and religiosity in Islamic preachers, namely 1) solemn conditions, consisting of the involvement of a) mental representation, b) mental dialogue, c) expectation, d) control of consciousness, e) appreciation of life experience, and f) feeling comfortable and full of enjoyment, 2) mind-wandering distraction, which consists of the presence of a) worldly ambitions and b) perceptual distraction, and 3) spiritual atmosphere conditioning, consisting of a) preparation of prayer pillars, b) self-preparation, and c) asking for protection.

Abstract

Islam is a exhaustive religion that talks about many facets of daily life, including recreational or leisure activities. Since leisure research has always been regarded primarily through the lens of Western psychology theory, it has grown significantly in Europe and America. There hasn't been any more research done on the benefits of leisure activity participation from an Islamic perspective. This study tries to compare leisure from the viewpoints of psychology and Islam. Comparative research is conducted by reading and analysing carefully from a variety of pertinent sources, including those from Islam and psychology. The findings indicated that psychology and Islam encourage leisure activities that are beneficial for addressing psychological, educational, social, self-relaxation, and physiological demands. While Islam dictates that one's leisure time activities do not contradict with Islamic beliefs in order to create happy people in this world and the hereafter, psychology is more open in many areas.

Abstract

Academic stress can have a significant impact on students, both their thoughts, behaviour and emotions. Therefore, their resilience needs to be increased to resolve their problems immediately. This phenomenological research aims to explore students' experiences in increasing resilience due to academic stress by using a spiritual approach. Research informants comprised 10 students who succeeded in increasing resilience due to academic stress with coping strategies using a spiritual approach. The research data were obtained through interviews, analyzed using the Melis and Huberman analysis model, and then checked the validity of the data by submerging triangulation and extending the observations. The study results show that students use three coping strategies with a spiritual approach to deal with academic stress. First is positive thinking, which is always optimistic about the problems faced. Believing that in every problem faced, there is always a silver lining and there is a way out. Second, positive action always tries to solve problems by carrying out various positive activities. Third, positive hopping, namely always hoping and praying to Allah SWT so that he will be given strength, convenience and guidance in overcoming problems

The sampling technique in this study uses a non probability sampling technique, which means that not all students have the same opportunity to be used as research samples. Data analysis will be carried out by linear regression analysis at a significance level of 0.005, using the SPSS.20 application. The results showed that there was a significant effect of gratitude, academic self-efficacy academic engagement (R2 = 29.4%). The results of the hypothesis test show that gratitude and academic self-efficacy have a significant effect on academic engagement.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of Islamic Neurol Linguistic Programming (INLP) techniques in increasing student motivation and resilience. The subjects of this study were students at PTMA (Muhammadiyah-Aisyiyah Higher Education Institutions) in Indonesia. A two-group pretest-posttest experimental design was used, where all research subjects were divided into two treatment groups: the experimental group and the control group. Data collection was measured by using 2 measuring instruments, namely the learning motivation scale and the resilience scale to measure the differences between conditions at the pretest and posttest. This research aimed to provide a practical solution to enhance the learning motivation and resilience of PTMA students during the covid-19 pandemic so that the subjects would be psychologically healthier. The data collected in this study used the Resilience and Motivation scale. Based on statistical tests, it was found that Islamic Neuro Linguistic Programming (INLP) can increase student resilience and learning motivation because INLP is a form of an applicable practical intervention that can be used during daily worship.

Abstract

The study of Islamic psychology is a field that is increasingly receiving widespread attention in the context of Islamic education. An in-depth understanding of how the principles of Islamic psychology can be applied in educational contexts, especially in building spiritual and religious maturity, is a major focus in this discussion. This study used the literature review method to investigate the relationship between Islamic psychology and Islamic education, particularly in the context of building religious maturity. The primary sources used consisted of original documents such as scientific journals, textbooks, research reports, and other official documents. Meanwhile, secondary sources included review articles, reference books, and reviews that discuss and analyze findings from primary sources. The results of this research showed the correlation between religious maturity and Islamic education, as outlined in the Allport criteria, highlighting a holistic approach to student development, integrating spiritual values with educational principles. By fostering good differentiation, motivation in a dynamic religion, and a comprehensive outlook on life, educators empower students to navigate their identity while embracing moral and academic growth. In the end, this synergy between religious maturity and education will give birth to individuals who are not only academically capable but also moral and socially minded.
