Abstract

Background: acute Coronary Syndrome patients often return to the hospital due to relapses that occur after they are declared cured. Secondary prevention programs are an important part for ACS patients to treat and stop the disease process and prevent them from complications and disability. Nurses have an important role in carrying out secondary prevention, especially for ACS patients to train patients to live a healthy lifestyle.Purpose: the purpose of this review study was to map and explore the implementation of secondary prevention in acute coronary syndrome patients initiated or coordinated by nurses. Methods: this study used scoping review design by including all full-text primary studies written in English and published in the last 10 years from 7 sources including EBSCO-hosted Academic Search Complete, PubMed, ScienceDirect, Sage Journals, Taylor and Francis, ProQuest, and Google Scholar. All study results were extracted manually using the tabulation method and analyzed thematically. Results: nurses can support secondary prevention through LDL reduction and lifestyle modifications. LDL reduction involves lipid-lowering medications, the NAILED-ACS approach, and Nursing Coordinated Care (NCC). Lifestyle modifications include promoting healthy habits, ensuring medication adherence, counseling for smoking cessation, and implementing programs for weight loss and physical activity. Conclusion: secondary prevention initiated or coordinated by nurses in the form of LDL reduction intervention and lifestyle modification program have been shown to be effective in reducing the risk of recurrent ischemia in patients with acute coronary syndrome.

Abstract

Background: Self-efficacy is a crucial factor in the success of therapy and self-care among haemodialysis patients. The quality of vascular access care, particularly in users of double lumen catheters, significantly affects therapy effectiveness and is prone to complications such as thrombosis, which may lead to vascular access loss in 30–40% of patients. Approximately 60% of cases show suboptimal haemodialysis therapy. Studies examining the relationship between self-efficacy and vascular access care quality remain limited in patients using double lumen catheters.Purpose: This study aimed to analyse the relationship between self-efficacy and vascular access care quality in haemodialysis patients with double lumen catheters at Hospital. Methods: A descriptive correlational study with a cross-sectional approach was conducted on 60 purposively selected respondents. The CKD-SE and SF-VAQ questionnaires were used as instruments. Data were analysed using the Spearman Rank test. Results: A significant positive correlation was found between self-efficacy and vascular access care quality (p = 0.000; r = 0.620). Most respondents (68.3%) had moderate self-efficacy (mean 65.49 ± 4.755), and 31.7% had high self-efficacy (mean 85.26 ± 4.121). The quality of vascular access care was moderate in 50% and good in 43.3% of respondents (means 49.40 ± 5.001 and 70.00 ± 5.713, respectively). Conclusion: Patients with high self-efficacy generally provide better vascular access care, supporting the success of haemodialysis. Thus, nursing interventions should aim to enhance self-efficacy to improve care quality in patients with double lumen catheters.

Abstract

Proper documentation functions as an accurate medical record, legal proof, communication tool among healthcare professionals and a foundation for evaluating and improving services, making nurses' ability to document nursing care accurately and also efficiently vital for research and development. This research aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the knowledge, skill levels of nurses in community health centres in documenting nursing care accurately and efficiently. This quantitative descriptive research use a total sampling approach on all nurses working in community health centres in one district in Indonesia. A questionnaire instrument is used to assess nurses' Knowledge while the skill observation is conducted by using a checklist to assess nurses' practical skills in performing nursing care documentation, including completeness, timeliness, use of standard terms, neatness of documentation. Data is analysed to examine the distribution of knowledge, skill levels possessed by the nurses. Results indicate nurses possess high levels of theoretical knowledge. However, practical skills often lag behind, with several skill areas requiring reinforcement. In assessment, significant gaps exist in biopsychosocial-spiritual data collection skills compared to nurses' knowledge. In diagnosis, data analysis and interpretation skills need improvement despite adequate nursing knowledge. In planning, nurses demonstrate difficulties in formulating action plans based on specific objectives. Nursing intervention implementation, such as health education for families and self-hygiene training, also shows disparities between knowledge and skills. Evaluation of patient and family capabilities shows balanced results. However, nursing care documentation still requires improvement in recording skills. Proposed recommendations include developing continuous training programmes, fostering interdisciplinary collaboration, enhancing family education, improving documentation skills, conducting regular evaluations of nurses' knowledge and skills.

Abstract

Background: STEMI is the most severe form of Acute Coronary Syndrome (ACS) that occurs due to complete obstruction of the coronary artery, causing extensive myocardial ischemia and necrosis. Although Primary PCI reperfusion intervention is the main therapy and is effective in reducing mortality, many patients still experience post-operative anxiety. This anxiety can worsen cardiovascular conditions through activation of the sympathetic nervous system and HPA axis, and hinder the patient's recovery process. Therefore, non-pharmacological interventions that are appropriate to the patient's spiritual and cultural values are needed to address such anxiety. Qur'anic murottal therapy, surah Ar-Rahman, to reduce anxiety levels through the effects of relaxation and psychological calmness.Purpose: To analyze the application of murottal therapy surah Ar-Rahman to the level of anxiety of STEMI patients. Methods: Uses a case study by applying intervention for 2x in 3 days. Results: EBN intervention using statistical tests obtained an effect before and after the interventions with a p-value of 0.028, systolic BP with a p-value of 0.005, and diastolic BP with a p-value of 0.005. While HR with a p-value of 0.875.Conclusion: The application of murottal therapy surah Ar-Rahman proved effective in reducing anxiety levels and stabilizing systolic and diastolic blood pressure in patients with STEMI in the ICCU room. These results support the importance of spiritual-based non-pharmacological interventions in holistic nursing care, particularly to assist the recovery process of patients after PPCI interventions. Nurses are expected to develop competence in providing spiritual healing as part of a comprehensive nursing approach.

Abstract

Background: Monitoring of infusion fluid therapy is carried out continuously as an effort to prevent embolism and nosocomial phlebitis. Nurses who are less than optimal and have inadequate numbers in controlling and monitoring the infusion system mean that the infusion system for each patient cannot be controlled continuously because the workload is high and many patients have to be monitored.Purpose: This literature review discusses various Internet of Things (IoT)-based infusion monitoring device systems related to accuracy and effectiveness in optimizing nurse work performance. Methods: Several journals search databases were used, such as ProQuest, IEEE Xplore, SAGE Journals, PubMed, and ScienceDirect. Inclusion and exclusion criteria were applied using the Boolean Logic and PICOT methods. Inclusion criteria were original articles discussing IoT-based infusion monitoring, English language, and full-text articles. The exclusion criteria applied were articles in the form of reviews. Results: This literature review used 10 international journals published in 2014-2024. To assess the quality of the literature, we use the Checklist from JBI Critical Appraisal Tools. The IoT-based infusion monitoring device system is accurate and reliable for monitoring infusions. Accuracy is presented quantitatively and qualitatively. Quantitatively, it shows a range of 88%-100%. Meanwhile, qualitatively stated accuracy means that the device can count infusion drops reliably and accurately. Thus, this IoT-based infusion monitoring system can optimize nurse performance. Conclusion: Accurate and reliable IoT monitoring system devices are able to support the optimization of nurse performance by monitoring and sending signals and information to nurses as users.
