Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the implementation of sociology learning in East Lombok Regency and to critically reconstruct sociology learning methods based on the humanistic school of thought in East Lombok Regency. This study was descriptive-qualitative. The location was East Lombok Regency, which has the largest number of high schools in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) province. Informant collection used a purposive sampling method. Data collection employed documentation, observation, and in-depth interviews. Analysis employed the Miles-Huberman interactive model. The results showed that all learning methods have advantages and disadvantages; none is superior to the other. Furthermore, there is a gap between the conception of sociology learning methods and their implementation in high schools in East Lombok Regency. However, learning success is largely determined by the individual characteristics of students and teachers, who possess free will. In other words, learning methods are one variable among many that determine learning success. The dominant variables are students and teachers.

Abstract

This study concerns the Promotion of Culture as an Independent Village through the Improvement of Cultural Resilience. The problem in villages that possess culture is the lack of inventory and documentation related to renewable cultural promotion objects (OPK), because conditions in the field may mean that these cultural promotion objects are still developing, underdeveloped, or even no longer developing. Through this research, it is hoped that the potential of OPK in Nagarawangi Village, Rancakalong District, Sumedang Regency, can be mapped comprehensively. The method used is qualitative research, with sources collected not only in the form of objects and written sources but also oral and visual sources. Oral sources were explored through interviews with storytellers as OPK actors and activists. As for visual sources, the exploration was not only carried out on visual sources in the form of moving images but also visual sources in the form of still visuals. The results of this study show a new approach to village development. The Cultural Advancement Village not only enriches the various existing approaches to village development but also provides a new space for village development, namely cultural space. The novelty of this approach will not only make villages more concerned about their culture but also enable villages to become centers of advancement.

Abstract

This study investigates the influence of Islamic Education (PAI) curriculum review, specifically curriculum understanding, implementation, and evaluation, on teacher commitment, while situating the findings within the historical trajectory of Islamic education. The study addresses ongoing concerns that PAI curricula have not fully responded to learners’ needs in the digital era, highlighting the importance of systematic curriculum review to sustain pedagogical relevance and professional engagement. Employing a quantitative approach with survey method, data were collected through a Likert-scale questionnaire administered to 120 PAI teachers from MAN 1 and MAN 2 Batam City, selected using simple random sampling. The data satisfied the normality assumption (p > 0.05), and the instrument demonstrated high reliability (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0.870). Multiple regression analysis reveals that curriculum understanding, implementation, and evaluation significantly influence teacher commitment (p < 0.05), with curriculum understanding emerging as the strongest predictor. The regression model explains 65% of the variance in teacher commitment (R² = 0.650). Interpreted from a historical perspective, these findings indicate that strengthening teachers’ conceptual mastery of the curriculum reinforces professional responsibility and instructional consistency, while enabling adaptation to contemporary educational demands without compromising core Islamic values. This study concludes that systematic PAI curriculum review not only enhances teacher commitment but also supports the continuity and resilience of Islamic education in modern learning contexts.

Abstract

Ethnozootherapy, as a component of traditional medical practices, highlights the use of animals or animal-derived products to treat physical ailments, enhance vitality, and fulfil spiritual needs. This research aims to understand the forms of animal use as traditional medicine, examine the cultural values and beliefs of the community that underlie these practices, and analyze the dynamics of local knowledge, including changes in practices amidst the influence of modern medicine and efforts to maintain ecological sustainability. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and documentation involving traditional healers and community members who use animal-based remedies. The findings reveal that animals such as snakes, eels, leeches, black chickens, monitor lizards, snakehead fish, and wild bees are used to address diverse health complaints based on empirical knowledge, symbolic interpretations, and spiritual beliefs. These practices not only constitute a traditional healing system but also function to maintain social structure, reinforce cultural identity, and facilitate intergenerational knowledge transmission. Amid the growing presence of modern medical services, communities selectively adapt by retaining practices perceived as effective and safe. Furthermore, the use of local ecological wisdom demonstrates an embedded ethical awareness supporting sustainable resource use. Thus, ethnozootherapy plays an essential role in both local health systems and the cultural continuity of the Kualu community.

Abstract

Understanding the factors influencing Generation Z's domestic tourist destination choices in developing countries remains fragmented and scattered across various research contexts, thus lacking a comprehensive and integrated picture. This study aims to identify trends and patterns in the determinants of Generation Z domestic tourist destination choices in developing countries through a Systematic Literature Review (SLR) approach. The literature search was conducted systematically in ScienceDirect, Google Scholar, SpringerLink, and the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) databases for publications from 2018–2025, following the PRISMA guidelines. Of the 1,031 identified articles, ten met the inclusion criteria and were analyzed in depth through screening, eligibility evaluation, and synthesis of findings. The analysis revealed that psychodigital factors were the most dominant determinants in shaping Generation Z's travel intentions and decisions, including the quality of digital information, telepresence, social media marketing, TikTok content, and the use of digital tourism. Theoretical frameworks such as Stimulus–Organism–Response (SOR), Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB), and the concept of risk perception explain how digital stimuli influence young tourists' cognitive and affective processes in evaluating and selecting tourist destinations. Furthermore, socio-demographic characteristics and post-pandemic dynamics also strengthen the variations in destination selection behavior among Generation Z. The findings of this study emphasize that the integration of psychodigital elements needs to be the main basis in formulating marketing strategies and domestic tourism development policies in developing countries to be more adaptive to the characteristics and preferences of Generation Z.

Abstract

This study examines the organizational transformation of three corporate-based zakat institutions—YBM BRILiaN, BSI Maslahat, and YBM PLN—by positioning regulatory pressures, demands for professionalism, and rapid digital advancement as the primary drivers of change. Wamsley and Zald’s political–economic perspective is used to explain how external forces—particularly state regulation and the policies of parent corporations—influence authority structures, program direction, and institutional accountability. Meanwhile, Kettner’s framework on organizational change provides the basis for analyzing internal dynamics, including human resource development, structural reorganization, and adjustments in governance practices. Employing a qualitative comparative approach, the study utilizes in-depth interviews and document analysis to trace the patterns of transformation across the three institutions. The findings reveal differentiated strategies: YBM BRILiaN prioritizes structural efficiency, amil cadre development, and consolidation of digital systems; BSI Maslahat focuses on post-merger cultural harmonization, SOP unification, and integration of data and reporting mechanisms; while YBM PLN implements nationwide KPI-based standardization, full digitalization of reporting processes, and strengthened regional volunteer networks. Despite these divergent pathways, the institutions exhibit convergence in several areas, including the professionalization of human resources, reinforcement of audit and control mechanisms, and the use of technology as a key instrument of public accountability. These results demonstrate that corporate-based zakat institutions are not only adapting to external pressures but also negotiating religious values alongside managerial practices to strengthen legitimacy and ensure the sustainability of faith-based social services.

Abstract

The development of digital technology and social media has influenced students' career preferences. Content creators are becoming one of the most sought-after professions because they offer opportunities for creativity, personal branding, and potential income. This study aims to explore the factors (motivation, perception, and challenges faced) that influence students' preferences in choosing a career as content creators. Using a phenomenological qualitative approach, this study involved six active students in Semarang aged 18-25 years who had been content creators for six months to one year with at least 1,000 followers on social media. Data were collected through semi-structured purposive interviews and analyzed thematically. The results of the study show that the main motivation for students to become content creators comes from intrinsic factors (hobbies and the desire to channel creativity), while extrinsic factors (potential income and popularity) also play a role. Their perception of this profession is positive, seeing it as a means of self-expression, personal branding, not bound by office hours, allowing them to work from anywhere according to their personal rhythm, and adaptable to their studies or other activities. Supportive digital networks (connections) with flexible time and location requirements are also a major attraction. However, there are challenges such as time management, creativity demands, competition among content creators, and the psychological impact of negative criticism. Students are aware of these challenges, but still choose this profession based on rational considerations and benefits such as high flexibility, economic opportunities, and self-development that outweigh the risks. In line with James S. Coleman's rational choice theory, where students logically weigh the benefits (flexibility, creativity, income) against the disadvantages, content creation has become a strategic career in the digital age.

Abstract

Students' understanding of Pancasila values remains a persistent challenge in Indonesian education. In learning practices, Pancasila values are often delivered textually and memorization-oriented, preventing students from fully internalizing their meaning and implementing them in their daily lives. This situation demands learning innovations that not only emphasize cognitive aspects but also engage students in an effective, contextual, and meaningful way. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Project-Based Learning (PiBL) model combined with comics in improving high school students' understanding of Pancasila values. This study used a weak experimental method with a One Group Pre-test and Post-test design. The subjects were 25 10th-grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Lalolac. Data were collected through essay tests administered before and after the treatment. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and N-gain calculations to determine the level of improvement in students' understanding. The results of the study showed an increase in students' average scores from 77.20 in the pre-test to 89.00 in the post-test. The distribution of score categories shifted significantly from a predominance of low and medium scores to a predominance of high scores. The N gain value of 0.56 indicates that the implementation of project-based learning with comics was effective in the medium category. These findings indicate that integrating the PIBL model with comics significantly improved students' understanding of Pancasila values. Therefore, project-based learning with comics can be used as an alternative, innovative learning strategy in Pancasila and Citizenship Education. This model not only improves students' conceptual understanding but also encourages active involvement, creativity, and critical thinking skills in internalizing Pancasila values.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of good corporate governance (GCG) on the quality of sustainability reporting in ASEAN-5 companies. The primary focus of this study is to examine how the characteristics of the audit committee, independent commissioners, gender diversity on the board, and the presence of external assurance moderate the quality of sustainability reports. The findings of this study are expected to provide practical contributions to companies in enhancing transparency, credibility, and accuracy of sustainability reports, while enriching academic literature in the fields of corporate governance and sustainability. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a causal-comparative research design. The research was conducted on companies listed on the ASEAN stock exchange from 2019 to 2022. The research population consisted of 745 companies and the sample consisted of 221 companies. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling. This study utilized secondary data obtained from database Bloomberg and the World Bank. Data analysis was conducted using panel data regression with Statistical Software. The results of this study indicate that independent and gender-diverse commissioners have a positive and significant effect on the quality of sustainability reports. However, the audit committee shows no positive effect on the quality of sustainability reports. Furthermore, the role of external assurance weakens the relationship between independent commissioners and gender diversity on sustainability report quality.
