Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan menguji secara empiris pengaruh faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi cost of debt perusahaan. Faktor yang mempengaruhi cost of debt antara lain penghindaran pajak, kepemilikan institusional, profitabilitas, aliran kas operasi dan leverage. Fenomena penelitian ini adalah meningkatnya perusahaan yang tidak mampu membayar utang sehingga meningkatkan biaya hiutang. Perusahaan yang menjadi sorotan saat ini adalah perusahaan plat merah atau BUMN yang terlilit utang dengan berbagai alasan sehingga menjadi masalah serius. Biaya hutang yang tinggi bagi perusahaan akan dapat meningkatkan kemungkin perusahaan pailit. Penelitian ini menguji 22 sampel penelitian selama 4 tahun. Metode yang digunakan adalah analisis regresi linier berganda. Hasil penelitian membuktikan penghindaran pajak tidak berpengaruh signifikan terhadap Cost of Debt (COD), Kepemilikan Institusi tidak berpengaruh signifikan pada COD, Profitabilitas berpengaruh negatif signifikan terhadap COD, Arus Kas Operasi berpengaruh signifikan positif pada COD, Leverage berpengaruh signifikan positif pada COD.
