Abstract

Strengthening women's entrepreneurial leadership based on Islamic values is a strategic need for rural religious organizations in promoting independence and sustainability of empowerment programs. This article aims to analyze the contribution of the Service Learning (SL)-based Community Service (PkM) program in strengthening women's entrepreneurial leadership in the NU Women's Organization in Tirta Mulya Village. The program is designed to be integrated with the Islamic Educational Leadership course and involves students as co-learners and learning facilitators at each SL stage, including pre-service, action/service, reflection, and evaluation. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through participant observation, interviews, reflective discussions, and activity documentation. Data analysis was conducted thematically to identify changes in leadership capacity, community entrepreneurship practices, and organizational governance. The results of the PkM indicate that the implementation of SL effectively drives change at three levels. At the individual level, participants experienced an increased understanding and attitude of entrepreneurial leadership. At the group level, there was increased participation, collaboration, and collective role sharing in community entrepreneurship practices. At the organizational level, there was a shift in orientation from administrative management to a more planned and sustainability-oriented program-based governance. Structured reflection based on Islamic values—such as amanah (trust), deliberation, and muhasabah serves as an ethical foundation that strengthens the legitimacy and accountability of women's entrepreneurial leadership. These findings confirm that service learning not only impacts individual capacity building but also generates capacity development at the organizational level. This article contributes to the development of an integrative, potentially replicable, service learning-based community service model for women's faith-based organizations. It also provides policy implications for universities and the Institute for the Development of Women's Empowerment (LP2M) in mainstreaming service learning as a service strategy based on reflective learning and values.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the strategies employed by Islamic Education (PAI) teachers to foster Islamic character values among middle school students through multimedia-based extracurricular activities. Specifically, it investigates how interactive digital tools, reflective exercises, and contextualized learning experiences contribute to the internalization of core values such as honesty, responsibility, empathy, and discipline. Employing a qualitative case study design, data were collected at SMP Hidmatul Hikam Alassumur through direct observations of extracurricular sessions, in-depth interviews with teachers, and document analysis including lesson plans and student portfolios. Findings indicate that multimedia integration significantly enhances student engagement, comprehension, and practical application of Islamic character values, with students demonstrating increased moral awareness and consistent ethical behavior. Teachers’ deliberate planning, continuous feedback, and reflective facilitation were identified as critical success factors. The study highlights the pedagogical potential of technology-enhanced activities in moral education and provides practical guidance for educators seeking to strengthen character development. The results suggest that integrating multimedia thoughtfully into extracurricular programs can foster sustainable moral growth and active value internalization among adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to identify strategies for strengthening madrasah human resource governance by integrating the development of pedagogical and managerial competencies to respond to the demands of Islamic education reform in the digital era. The study used a qualitative approach with a case study design at MAN 2 Sarolangun, using in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis as data collection techniques. The results of the study indicate that managerial problems, structural barriers, teacher competency mismatches, and limitations in professional development programs interact with each other, resulting in HR management remaining administrative, reactive, and not fully adaptive to Islamic education reform. The theoretical implications of this study emphasize the need for a holistic model of madrasah HR governance, combining managerial, pedagogical, and Islamic value aspects, while the practical implications highlight the importance of developing competency-based professional programs and monitoring teacher needs to improve the quality of learning and the consistency of policy implementation. This study provides guidance for madrasah principals and policy makers in strengthening HR systematically.

Abstract

The decline of student discipline and the limited integration of spiritual development in primary education highlight the need for holistic educational approaches, particularly in Islamic school contexts. This study investigates the role of congregational Dhuha prayer habituation in fostering students’ discipline and spiritual intelligence in an Islamic elementary school. A qualitative case study design was employed, involving one principal, two teachers, and eleven sixth-grade students selected purposively based on their direct and sustained participation in the program. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and documentary analysis, and analyzed using the interactive qualitative model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña. The findings indicate that the congregational Dhuha prayer program functioned as a structured institutional routine that supported punctuality, procedural readiness, behavioral responsibility, emotional calmness, intrinsic religious motivation, and growing spiritual competence. Students’ repeated participation in communal worship fostered both observable disciplinary behaviors and internal spiritual development within a supportive educational environment. This study contributes a co-emergence perspective, demonstrating that discipline and spiritual intelligence may develop simultaneously through a single embodied religious practice rather than as separate educational outcomes. The findings suggest that structured spiritual habituation may serve as a meaningful pedagogical strategy for holistic character formation in Islamic primary education
