Abstract

Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji relevansi praktik hukum adat waris Manggarai terhadap prinsip keadilan dan hak asasi manusia dalam sistem hukum nasional. Hipotesis penelitian berangkat dari asumsi bahwa meskipun hukum adat Manggarai bersifat patrilineal dan menempatkan anak laki-laki sebagai ahli waris utama, terdapat ruang transformatif yang memungkinkan adaptasi terhadap nilai kesetaraan. Metode Penelitian: Penelitian menggunakan metode hukum normatif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain etnografis dan analisis hermeneutik serta fenomenologis. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dan observasi partisipatif di tiga wilayah kabupaten di Manggarai dengan melibatkan informan dari kalangan tokoh adat, masyarakat, dan keluarga pelaku praktik waris. Hasil dan Pembahasan: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya pergeseran makna dalam praktik waris, di mana sebagian masyarakat mulai mengakui hak anak perempuan, baik secara langsung maupun melalui mekanisme pengangkatan kerabat laki-laki sebagai pewaris. Perubahan ini didorong oleh kesadaran internal masyarakat terhadap prinsip keadilan distributif dan nilai-nilai hak asasi manusia. Implikasi: Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa hukum adat dapat bertransformasi secara progresif tanpa kehilangan identitas budaya lokalnya. Implikasi dari penelitian ini penting bagi penyusunan kebijakan hukum nasional yang menghormati hukum adat sekaligus menjamin prinsip keadilan substantif.

Abstract

For progress in agriculture, farmers as the main actors need increased resources. They must be able and have the skills to run their business, and extension workers as motivators must use effective methods to influence the farming community. Capabilities can be improved through learning processes, effective training and agricultural extension. The aim of this research is the direct and indirect impact of extension on farmers' skills in Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency. Time and Place of Research This research was conducted in Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency. Data collection was carried out on 10 August-10 October. In an effort to answer the problems in this research, multiple linear regression analysis was used. The author of this research used a quantitative descriptive approach. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: The direct extension method has a positive and significant effect on farmers' skills and the indirect method has a positive but not significant effect on farmers' skills in Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency. The direct method is used when agricultural instructors face the target and obtain a response from the target in a relatively short time, while the indirect method is used when the instructor uses extension media and does not meet directly with the target to obtain a response. This second method can be very helpful in situations where direct methods cannot be used, especially in terms of attracting attention and moving the hearts of the target instructor.

Abstract

This community service program aims to equip students with skills in making corn marning and calculate business profits in order to maximize opportunities in Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) after graduation. This activity was attended by 32 students of the Agronomy Study Program of the Catholic University of Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng which was held at the Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry (FPP). The activity method used is counseling and demonstration which is divided into three stages, namely Pre-activity, activity implementation, and activity evaluation. The training material includes the analysis of corn marning business opportunities using the SWOT method, the process of making corn marning, and the calculation of the profit of the corn marning business. The results of this service show that there is an increase in the knowledge and skills of students about making corn marning from the initial 40% at the pre-test to 98% when the post-test is carried out. This activity produced recommendations to increase student capacity in designing business strategies to enter the world of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with a focus on local agricultural products.

Abstract

This community service program aims to improve farmers' knowledge and skills in producing and applying botanical pesticides derived from lemongrass (Cymbopogon citratus) and betel leaves (Piper betle) as an environmentally friendly alternative for cocoa pest management. The program was implemented through educational outreach and hands-on training, with participant learning outcomes evaluated using pre-test and post-test assessments analyzed descriptively. The results demonstrated a high level of participant engagement throughout both the theoretical and practical sessions. Knowledge evaluation revealed a substantial improvement, with the average score increasing from 25% in the pre-test to 92% in the post-test, representing a 67-percentage-point gain. These findings indicate that the combination of lectures, group discussions, and practical demonstrations was effective in enhancing farmers' understanding of the production and application of botanical pesticides. In addition to strengthening farmers' capacities, the program introduced a safer, more affordable, and sustainable pest management alternative through the utilization of locally available natural resources.
