Abstract

The Rawa Aopa Watumohai National Park area (TNRAW) is an administrative area of East Kolaka Regency and is in direct contact with the TNRAW area, so community activities to use TNRAW as business land cannot be stopped. This study aims to analyze potential TNRAW conflicts and provide direction for problem resolution. This study combined the survey method with a participatory approach with the community and TNRAW managers. The results showed several problems encountered in villages included in the TNRAW area, including encroachment and illegal logging, land sale and purchase, land certification, settlements within the area, plantations within the area, rice fields in the area, construction of facilities and infrastructure by the government, recognition of village administration in the area, allocation of village funds and waterlogging and overfishing. Community stakeholder actors have a negative influence or role in the TNRAW area. The role of the Southeast Sulawesi Provincial Public Works Office, Universities, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) as stakeholder actors is positive for both the community and TNRAW. Recommendations for problem resolution directives include: 1) increasing community participation through continuous empowerment and assistance so that adverse roles of TNRAW can be minimized, 2) increasing the role of stakeholders to coordinate with TNRAW, especially concerning land legality and community agricultural activities within the TNRAW Area, 3) solving various problems in TNRAW through mutually beneficial mechanisms between the community and TNRAW, The solutions offered must, of course, be following applicable laws and regulations.

Abstract

The tourism sector is an essential part of the coastal area. Therefore, there is a need for sustainable maintenance so that the tourism sector is maintained. The development of a sustainable tourism sector can be implemented through the green economy. In practice, the implementation of this green economy can also be used to increase solidarity among communities. This research then aims to see how green economy initiatives can increase social solidarity in the tourism sector in coastal areas. This research will be carried out using a descriptive qualitative approach. The data used in this study come from different research results and previous studies, which still have relevance to the contents of this research. The study results then found that the tourism sector in coastal areas has various challenges and obstacles. However, this problem can be solved by implementing a green economy. Through environmentally friendly practices, this can provide economic and social benefits that are more equitable to local communities. Then community involvement can be increased in managing the tourism sector, thereby strengthening environmental awareness and local culture. This, in turn, can increase social solidarity in society.

Abstract

All sectors have realized that waste, especially plastic waste, has become a complex and serious environmental problem, not only in Indonesia, but also around the world. Plastic waste has a major impact on public health and environmental sustainability. In Indonesia, this negative impact is increasingly felt, with an increase in the amount of plastic waste that is not properly managed, polluting nature and damaging ecosystems. For this reason, there needs to be strategic efforts to reduce the use of plastic, one of which is through environmental education. This research explores the role of environmental education as a strategy to instill environmental awareness in students, so that they are more concerned about the impact of plastic waste. The method used in this study is library research, by analyzing various literature and previous research. The results show that environmental education can increase students' awareness of the dangers of plastic waste and the importance of better waste management. In addition, environmental education can also motivate students to apply the 3R (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) principles in their daily lives. Practice-based learning and real actions have proven to be effective in arousing students' enthusiasm to reduce plastic waste. By involving students in activities directly related to waste management, they can feel the benefits and be motivated to participate in preserving the environment. Sustainable environmental education has great potential in shaping student behavior as agents of change towards a waste-free Indonesia in the future.

Abstract

South Konawe Regency experienced a decrease in water supply and an increase in water demand, due the changes in land use caused by ongoing land exploitation, which increases runoff and decreases infiltration capacity. As a result, more water is lost to the ocean, threatening the water supply from Laeya River. Laeya River raw water is not only utilized for PDAM raw water sources, but also used to meet the domestic needs of the community, agricultural irrigation and plantations, so it is important to know the its sustainability status. This research aims to carrying out activities that control the water quality of the Laeya River, as well as to serve an information regarding the status model for the sustainability of raw water management, and to raise environmental awareness. This study was carried out in the Laeya River, South Konawe Regency. Sampling was conducted at three stations representing the upstream area of the Laeya River, the middle area and the downstream area. The Multi Dimensional Scaling (MDS) analysis method was used to conduct an analysis of the status of sustainable natural resource management for sustainable raw water supply. Based on the results can be concluded that Analysis of the 41 attributes derived from five dimensions resulted in 12 attributes acting as leverage factors in each dimension partially. To improve the sustainability status of raw water management in the research area, it is necessary to intervene the 12 attributes, namely 11 attributes that need to increase the intensity of their activities, and one attribute needs to be controlled and planned for its development properly. The results of the assessment of 41 attributes from five dimensionsin the management of the Laeya River for raw water supply in South Konawe Regency, currently is at less Sustainability status(Sustainability Index value of 36.63).KeywordsSustainability Raw WaterMDSMonte CarloRAPS-LaeyaSouth Konawe Regency
