Abstract

Abstract Purpose - This study aims to explore the role of auditor characteristics on the practice of tax avoidance in Indonesia. Auditor characteristics are determined from the auditor industry specialization, audit opinion, audit tenure, and audit fee. Meanwhile, tax avoidance behavior is determined from a comparison of the effective tax rate (ETR). Design/methodology/approach - The secondary data analysis on this study applies a panel data regression method to analyze data from companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange between 2018 and 2022. Findings - The findings indicate that audit tenure has a significant negative effect on tax avoidance. Meanwhile, auditor industry specialization, audit opinion, and audit fees do not have a significant effect on tax avoidance. Research limitations/implications - The results of this study contribute to the role of auditor characteristics on tax avoidance practices. Abstract

Prayer is an important aspect for humans to ask for help from God, especially for Christians. However, humans mostly ask for God's help in times of need or in times of urgency and then they cry out for God's help through prayer or by mentioning the name of Jesus. Thus, in such a way, it will be more difficult for humans to get close to God. The purpose of this study is to explain how the Jesus Prayer can be the most important part of a Christian's life based on “The Power of the Name the Jesus Prayer in Orthodox spirituality”. The method used by the author in this research is a literature study, by reading books, magazines, and collecting library data. The author also interacts with other texts such as journals, and the writings of the church fathers. Therefore, the results of this study show that the prayer of the Jesus puja or praying by mentioning the name of Jesus can be done at any time, be it in distress or in happiness, because this prayer can help humans to be able to continue to establish a good and strong relationship with God without any restrictions, and can also bring humans to experience the likeness of God or called (theosis).

Abstract

In the Old Testament, there is a prophecy about God that gave a sign that a virgin would conceive and give birth to a son, and she would name him Immanuel. Although the term sounds familiar, the word Immanuel is only mentioned 3 times in the Bible, namely in Isaiah 7:14, Isaiah 8:8 and Matthew 1:23. The word "Immanuel" itself literally means "God with us." This word is a designation that refers to the presence of God in accompanying His people. This article will discuss further the meaning of the word "Immanuel" according to the view of one of the church fathers named Cyril of Alexandria.BAHASA INDONESIA ABSTRACT: Dalam Perjanjian Lama terdapat nubuat tentang Tuhan yang memberikan tanda bahwa seorang anak dara akan mengandung dan melahirkan seorang anak laki-laki, dan ia akan menamai-Nya Imanuel. Meskipun istilah ini terdengar tidak asing, kata Imanuel hanya disebutkan sebanyak 3 kali di dalam Alkitab, yaitu di dalam Yesaya 7:14, Yesaya 8:8, dan Matius 1:23. Kata "Imanuel" sendiri secara harfiah berarti "Allah menyertai kita". Kata ini merupakan sebutan yang merujuk pada kehadiran Tuhan dalam menyertai umat-Nya. Artikel ini akan membahas lebih jauh arti kata "Imanuel" menurut pandangan salah satu bapa gereja yang bernama Cyril dari Aleksandria.

Abstract

This study examines food security in Majene, West Sulawesi, following the 2021 earthquake, focusing on food availability, consumption, and dietary patterns. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative approach and relies on secondary data from the Food Security Service Office of the Majene Regency. The data are supplemented by information from the Central Statistics Agency and interviews with informants. The findings reveal that the primary nutritional parameters—energy, protein, and fat—are adequately met. The availability of energy from vegetable sources exceeds the recommended 984 kcal/capita/day. Protein availability, mainly from animal sources, meets the 63 grams/capita/day guideline. Fat availability, primarily from vegetable fats, also aligns with the recommended 72.17 grams/capita/day. During the earthquake, food supplies, which included 11 staple types, were sufficient, evidenced by available quantities surpassing consumption levels. For instance, rice availability stood at 29,277 tons against a consumption level of 20,084.70 tons. The study also assesses dietary patterns, finding that grains, oils, fats, oily fruits/seeds, sugars, and vegetables meet desirable dietary scores, while tubers, animal products, and legumes fall short.

Abstract

Abstract:Antichrist is a deceiver who is very close to Christians, so as Christians, it is important to criticise those who play God based on the Christian faith through the Book of 2 John 1:7-11. The purpose of the study is to respond to the four sects that play God promising salvation for believers in the film In The Name Of God: A Holy Betrayal. This study uses the research method of exegesis study with the meaning of the four layers of the Bible namely Historia (Sarkic), Theoria (Noetic), Moral (Psychic), Anagogic and film analysis approach. Through this study, it can be concluded that the film In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal has become part of the Antichrist. Thus the church needs to be vigilant and fight against those who are against God by rejecting them to be able to contribute to the impact of society and truly live as believers in Jesus Christ. AbstrakAntikristus adalah penyesat yang sangat dekat dengan orang Kristen, sehingga sebagai orang Kristen mengangkat kritik terhadap oknum-oknum yang playing God menjadi penting untuk dilakukan berdasarkan iman Kristen melalui Kitab 2 Yohanes 1:7-11. Tujuan dari penelitian adalah untuk menanggapi empat sekte yang berperan sebagai Tuhan yang menjanjikan keselamatan bagi orang percaya dalam film In The Name Of God: A Holy Betrayal. Kajian ini menggunakan metode penelitian studi eksegesis dengan makna empat lapisan Alkitab yakni Historia (Sarkic), Theoria (Noetic), Moral (Psychic), Anagogic dan pendekatan analisis film. Melalui kajian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa film In the Name of God: A Holy Betrayal telah menjadi bagian dari antikristus. Dengan demikian gereja perlu waspada dan melawan oknum-oknum yang melawan Allah dengan menolak mereka untuk dapat berkontribusi memberikan dampak bagi masyarakat dan benar-benar hidup sebagai orang percaya kepada Yesus Kristus.

Abstract

Sistem pencatatan akuntansi dan laporan keuangan sering kali dilakukan secara manual di Botanic Coffee yang bertempat di Kota Batam karena masih tergolong pada usaha mikro, kecil, atau menengah. Botanic Coffee saat ini mengalami kesulitan dalam menerbitkan laporan keuangan setiap bulannya. Hal ini menyebabkan pemilik usaha kesulitan dalam mengetahui laba rugi usaha setiap bulannya serta kesulitan dalam pengambilan keputusan untuk keberlanjutan usaha. Dalam tahap mengumpulkan informasi mengenai usaha Botanic Coffee maka dilakukan proses wawancara dengan pemilik usaha, hasil dari wawancara ini membuat penulis dapat menetukan pengabdian ini akan dilakukan dengan membuat sistem sederhana akuntansi dengan memanfaatkan aplikasi Microsoft Access kepada Botanic Coffee untuk membantu pemilik usaha dalam membuat laporan keuangan dan menentukan keuntungan atau kerugian mereka dengan cara lebih sederhana dan tersistematis. Penerapan ini dilakukan dengan metode pendampingan dan disertai video tutorial cara pengoperasian sistem akuntansi. Hasil dari pengabdian memperlihatkan bahwa sistem berbasis Microsoft Access sangat membantu pemilik usaha dalam menentukan laba rugi usaha dan menerbitkan laporan keuangan setiap bulannya dengan lebih efisien dan efektif.

Abstract

Abstract: The meaning of humility is often a disconnect between human desires and God's will. This is because people interpret humility as an effort made to achieve the virtues of the body, as an effort to fulfill their own desires. So in this case, St. Maximos in his understanding of humility, tries to straighten out that this humility means that the person has a good relationship with God and fears God. So St. Maximos considers that humility, means that the person must focus on God's commandments, live lowly before God and carry out all God's commands and mandates, no longer trying to fulfill their own desires. Thus, this research aims to discuss the importance of knowing humility based on St. Maximos. The research method used in writing this article is the Qualitative method which is usually in the form of words with literature studies, collecting data from the Bible, journal articles, books, and other sources. Through this method the author is facilitated to find and solve existing problems. The results of this study show that humility plays an important role in the continuity and journey of human life so that the person can be safe and prosperous in God. St. Maximos discusses that humility is proof that the person has obeyed God and will soon receive salvation from God.   Abstrak: Pemaknaan akan kerendahan hati seringkali tidak memiliki titik temu antara keinginan manusia dan kehendak Allah. Hal ini dikarenakan, manusia justru memaknai kerendahan hati sebagai usaha yang dilakukan untuk mencapai kebajikan-kebajikan tubuh, sebagai usaha untuk memenuhi keinginan diri sendiri. Sehingga dalam hal ini, St. Maximos dalam pemahamannya tentang kerendahan hati, mencoba meluruskan bahwa kerendahan hati ini berarti orang tersebut mempunyai relasi yang baik dengan Tuhan dan takut akan Tuhan. Maka St. Maximos menilai bahwa kerendahan hati, berarti orang tersebut mesti tentu kepada perintah Tuhan, hidup rendah dihadapan Tuhan dan menjalankan segala perintah dan amanat Tuhan, tidak lagi mencoba untuk memenuhi keinginan diri sendiri. Jadi, penelitian ini bertujuan membahas tentang pentingnya mengenal kerendahan hati yang didasari dari St. Maximos. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam menulis artikel ini adalah metode Kualitatif yang biasanya berupa kata-kata dengan studi literatur, mengumpulkan data dari Alkitab, artikel jurnal, buku-buku, serta sumber-sumber yang lain. Melalui metode ini penulis dimudahkan untuk menemukan dan memecahkan masalah-masalah yang ada. Hasil penelitian ini memperlihatkan bahwa kerendahan hati memegang peranan penting untuk kelangsungan dan perjalan hidup manusia agar orang tersebut memperoleh selamat dan sejahtera di dalam Tuhan. St. Maximos membahas bahwa kerendahan hati sebagai bukti bahwa orang tersebut telah taat kepada Allah dan akan segera menerima keselamatan dari Tuhan.

Abstract

Abstract. This article explores spiritual transformation through silence and the Jesus Prayer. The Jesus Prayer, discussed in the book by Kallistos Ware, has deep origins, meaning and practice in Christian spirituality. Ware explains how Jesus' prayer was central to the prayer lives of many saints, helping to achieve union with God and a core experience with Him. Silence and the Jesus Prayer offer a space for reflection, spiritual awareness, and purification of the soul, overcoming the existential Crisis, which brings the individual closer to God. With an integration of classical spiritual theories and modern approaches, as well as personal experience, this article illustrates how the Jesus Prayer and silence complement each other in one's spiritual journey. The resulting spiritual transformation is not just a concept, but a life experience that can change deeply and provide deeper meaning for the individual who practices it. Abstrak. Artikel ini mengeksplorasi transformasi spiritual melalui keheningan dan Doa Yesus. Doa Yesus, yang dibahas dalam buku Kallistos Ware, memiliki asal usul, makna, dan praktik yang dalam dalam spiritualitas Kristen. Ware menjelaskan bagaimana doa Yesus merupakan inti kehidupan doa banyak orang kudus, membantu mencapai kesatuan dengan Tuhan dan pengalaman inti dengan-Nya. Keheningan dan Doa Yesus menawarkan ruang untuk refleksi, kesadaran spiritual, dan pemurnian jiwa, mengatasi Krisis eksistensial, yang membawa individu lebih dekat kepada Tuhan. Dengan integrasi teori spiritual klasik dan pendekatan modern, serta pengalaman pribadi, artikel ini menggambarkan bagaimana Doa Yesus dan keheningan saling melengkapi dalam perjalanan spiritual seseorang. Transformasi spiritual yang dihasilkan bukan sekedar konsep, namun merupakan pengalaman hidup yang dapat berubah secara mendalam dan memberikan makna yang lebih dalam bagi individu yang mengamalkannya.

Abstract

This article delves into the profound significance of the Jesus Prayer, as presented by Kallistos Ware, and its role in nurturing spiritual growth and leading believers toward a deeper union with God. By employing a qualitative literature review, this study engages with Ware’s theological perspectives and other relevant insights. The findings highlight how this simple yet powerful prayer—“Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, have mercy on me, a sinner”—serves as a tool for believers to transcend distractions, cultivate inner peace, and center their hearts on Christ. The research affirms that the Jesus Prayer is not just a repetitive phrase but a pathway to transformation, offering believers a way to experience God’s grace in their everyday lives.

Abstract

Moleqie Ngah Jaya merupakan Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) yang bergerak di bidang perdagangan ritel, menjual produk batik di Batam. Seiring dengan peingkatan volume transaksi penjualan batik di toko fisik, kegiatan bazaar, dan jasa mengajar batik, UMKM mengalami kesulitan dalam pencatatan keuangan yang masih dilakukan secara manual. Hal ini menyebabkan pemilik berkendala dalam memantau stok persediaan, menyusun laporan keuangan yang akurat, dan mengevaluasi profitabilitas usaha. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi melalui perancangan dan implementasi sistem pencatatan akuntansi berbasis Microsoft Excel. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui tahap observasi, perancangan sistem, pelatihan intensif, dan pendampingan. Hasil dari kegiatan ini yaitu sistem pencatatan akuntansi berbasis komputer yang dilengkapi berbagai fitur seperti Dashboard, formulir penginputan transaksi, serta otomatisasi laporan keuangan dan laporan pendukung. Setelah melalui tahap pelatihan dan pendampingan, mitra telah mampu mengoperasikan sistem secara mandiri untuk mencatat transaksi harian. Penerapan sistem ini terbukti dapat meningkatkan efisiensi waktu pencatatan, meminimlakan resiko kesalahan hitung, dan menyediakan informasi keuangan penting untuk mendukung pengambilan keputusan bisnis strategis.
