Abstract

LinkedIn is a worldwide professional social network that allows users to connect with professional users around the world. LinkedIn is not just a job search platform, but also a place where individuals present themselves professionally. Students can develop their professional digital footprint through the LinkedIn platform. This research uses a constructivist paradigm with a qualitative method through a case study approach. Data collection was conducted through observation, interview, and documentation techniques. The results of this study are in the form of 3 findings, namely the communication strategies of the five informants who formed Hubert K. Rampersad's personal branding values, the career advancement of the five informants, and the communication barriers experienced by the five informants. This research is expected to build students' awareness of the potential to build LinkedIn professional personal branding as a bridge to career advancement.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh perkembangan teknologi komunikasi dan informasi pada beberapa sektor, tak terkecuali bisnis. Pada era New Normal, budaya kerja Hybrid semakin marak diterapkan. Selama kurun waktu tersebut, banyak bermunculan media komunikasi berbasis komputer yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk komunikasi jarak jauh, salah satunya adalah aplikasi “Lark – Team Collaboration”. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah terdapat pengaruh media komunikasi Lark terhadap efektivitas pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi. Metode yang digunakan ialah pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode survei kepada 30 populasi mahasiswa magang MSIB Divisi Marketing di PT. Orbit Ventura Indonesia. Teori yang menjadi dukungan pada penelitian kali ini adalah teori CMC (Computer-Mediated Communication). Hasil penelitian ini ialah dari tiga dimensi CMC Accessibility, Speed, dan Amount, hanya dimensi Amount yang berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap efektivitas pemenuhan kebutuhan informasi Mahasiswa Magang MSIB Divisi Marketing di PT. Orbit Ventura Indonesia.

Abstract

Tradisi Tawur di Desa Wanajaya merupakan tradisi turun temurun yang dilakukan sebagai bentuk rasa syukur atas rezeki yang didapatkan. Tradisi ini melibatkan sanak saudara, kerabat, dan tetangga sekitar rumah. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif fenomenologi untuk memahami motif, makna, dan simbolisme tradisi Tawur. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif masyarakat melakukan tradisi Tawur didasari oleh motif sebab (rasa tanggung jawab atas janji) dan motif tujuan (harapan, permohonan, dan pembersihan diri). Masyarakat memaknai tradisi Tawur sebagai ungkapan rasa syukur, bersedekah, dan kebahagiaan. Simbol-simbol dalam tradisi Tawur memiliki makna: beras kuning (keselamatan, pencapaian, dan penghilang kesialan), uang recehan (rasa syukur dan penghargaan), dan permen (pemanis kehidupan). Tradisi Tawur merepresentasikan rasa syukur masyarakat atas rezeki, memperkuat hubungan sosial, dan mengandung nilai-nilai budaya yang luhur.

Abstract

This research aims to find out how parents interact with their children in monitoring the use of Tiktok social media, then to find out how children's verbal communication when using Tiktok social media, and also to find out how parents interpret Tiktok social media. This research uses a qualitative method with a descriptive approach, the theory used in this research is low communication theory. In this research, three stages of analysis were also carried out, namely, data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions.The results of this research are that parents tend to use interactions in the categories of active mediation and restrictive mediation. The divergence premise in accommodation theory explains how parents choose communication strategies towards children in terms of supervision. Children tend to use Tiktok according to their own interests, parents' views of the Tiktok application are negative and positive, but parents are aware that technological developments mean that children have to adapt.

Abstract

The K-Drama "Moving" which is broadcast in August 2023, has received a lot of attention from K-Drama fans and has achieved extraordinary popularity. The purpose of this research is to investigates the influence of the k-drama Moving’s trailer on viewer’s interest in watching the entire series on Disney+ Hotstar. The theory used in this research is uses and gratifications theory, which assume that audiences actively select media to fulfill their needs. This research employs a quantitative explanatory research method to explain the relationship and impact between the variables. The findings reveal that the Intensity variable does not influence on the interest in watching the k-drama on Disney+ Hotstar with an influence value of -1.55%. In contrast, the Message Content and Attraction variables demonstrate a significant influence on viewers' interest in watching the k-drama on Disney+ Hotstar with influence values ​​for each variable of 9.59% and 31.82%.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memahami makna, motif, dan pengalaman pengemudi ojek online perempuan di Kota Bekasi. Melalui pendekatan kualitatif fenomenologis, penelitian ini menggali lebih dalam mengenai konstruksi sosial yang dialami oleh perempuan pengemudi ojek online. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motif utama perempuan memilih profesi ini adalah fleksibilitas waktu, kemandirian ekonomi, dan kebutuhan untuk memenuhi tanggung jawab keluarga. Profesi ojek online tidak hanya memberikan penghasilan, tetapi juga memberikan makna yang lebih dalam bagi para pengemudi, seperti rasa percaya diri, kemandirian, dan kesempatan untuk berinteraksi dengan orang-orang dari berbagai latar belakang. Namun, perempuan pengemudi ojek online juga menghadapi berbagai tantangan, termasuk diskriminasi, pelecehan, dan stigma sosial. Meskipun demikian, mereka mampu membangun relasi sosial yang positif dengan sesama pengemudi dan mengembangkan strategi adaptasi untuk mengatasi tantangan tersebut. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa profesi ojek online memiliki makna yang multidimensi bagi perempuan di Kota Bekasi. Selain sebagai sumber penghasilan, profesi ini juga memberikan ruang untuk pengembangan diri, pemenuhan kebutuhan sosial, dan penguatan identitas diri. Oleh karena itu, penting untuk memberikan dukungan dan perlindungan yang lebih baik bagi perempuan pengemudi ojek online agar mereka dapat menjalankan profesinya dengan aman dan nyaman.

Abstract

Habib Ali Sofyan, 2010631190056. "The Influence of Erigo X JKT48 Content Exposure on the TikTok Account @Erigo.Store on Purchase Decisions for Clothing Products." Communication Science Study Program, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Singaperbangsa University, Karawang.The background of this research is TikTok as a popular social media platform in Indonesia, utilized by various brands, including Erigo, for marketing. One of its strategies is collaborating with JKT48 through the Erigo X JKT48 campaign, which attracts fans' attention. This study aims to analyze the influence of Erigo X JKT48 content exposure on the TikTok account @Erigo.store on purchasing decisions for clothing products.This study employs a quantitative approach with a causal method based on the philosophy of positivism, using the Uses and Effect theory by Sven Windahl. The research population consists of members of the TEAM48 Karawang community, with a sample size determined using the Isaac and Michael formula, resulting in 81 respondents. The findings indicate that exposure to Erigo X JKT48 content on the TikTok account @Erigo.store has a positive influence of 78.8% on fashion purchasing decisions, while 21.2% is influenced by other factors.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of the Certified Internship and Independent Study Program (MSIB) on the work readiness of students in the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences at Universitas Singaperbangsa Karawang. A quantitative method was used by distributing questionnaires to 92 respondents who had participated in the MSIB program. The coefficient of determination test showed that the MSIB program contributed 37.3% to students’ work readiness. Partial tests indicated that the variables Work Skills (t = 3.650, sig. 0.001) and Attitude Formation (t = 2.706, sig. 0.008) had a significant influence, while Internship Duration (t = 1.423, sig. 0.158), Human Resource Development (t = 0.638, sig. 0.526), and Learning Outcomes Reinforcement (t = 0.265, sig. 0.791) did not show a significant effect. These results indicate that work skills such as task completion, teamwork, and operational tool usage and professional attitudes like discipline, responsibility, and initiative are key factors affecting students' work readiness. On the other hand, the insignificance of the other three variables suggests the need for evaluation of program implementation, particularly in the quality of training, mentoring, and integration of academic theory with practical application. These findings affirm that the success of the MSIB program is not solely determined by student participation, but by how such experiences shape professional competencies and attitudes aligned with workplace demands.

Abstract

Nowadays, women are often constructed by society as individuals who are calm, gentle, thorough, and are in the domestic realm, such as the household, caring for children. However, there are women who choose to become online taxi drivers as their job, and the existing social construction that this profession is a masculine profession does not discourage female online taxi drivers from continuing to earn a living. The aim of this research is to find out how female online taxi drivers interpret their goals in carrying out their profession and their motives in carrying out their profession, as well as their communication experiences as online taxi drivers. The research results show that the average motive behind women in the city of Bogor choosing to work as online taxi drivers is economic factors, such as being a single parent or simply helping their husband with their family's economy to earn income from their work as an online taxi driver.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the construction of self-identity of female supporters of the Indonesian National Team, especially among female students of FISIP Unsika. Using Alfred Schutz's phenomenological approach, this study examines the motives, meanings, communication experiences, and interactions of female supporters while watching live matches of the Indonesian National Team at the stadium. The results of the study indicate that the self-identity of female supporters is formed through direct experience, social interaction, and the process of constructing meaning that is closely related to their collective and individual experiences as part of the national football supporter community.
