Abstract

Background. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many changes, one of which is the nutritional status of adolescents. There is an increase and decrease in nutritional status, which significantly affects the health status of individuals. According to Basic Health Research data (2018), the prevalence of being very underweight in adolescents aged 13-15 is 1.9%, and obesity in adolescents aged 13-15 is 4.8%. Meanwhile, the prevalence of very thin and obese in adolescents aged 16-18 years was 1.4% and 4%, respectively.Research Methods. This research is a literature review reviewing several studies as sources of information. The research used in this research is the last five years' research which sinta accredits.Research Result. This study shows the results of changes in nutritional status either increase or decrease. This is caused by several factors, namely the role of parents, physical activity, peers, social media, exercise habits, and consumption patterns. One of the main factors that cause changes in nutritional status is changes in activity in adolescents due to social movements. Conclusion. The COVID-19 pandemic has caused many changes in various sectors, including education. One of those who have recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic is teenagers. Most adolescents experience changes in nutritional status during the pandemic. This is because most teenagers learn with courage, resulting in reduced activity. In addition, several other factors also influence changes in adolescent nutritional status, such as the role of parents, social media, peers, exercise habits, and consumption patterns.

Abstract

Background. Adequate energy intake is an essential component in achieving sports success that plays a role in calorie expenditure, improving and increasing strength, endurance, muscle mass, and health. Many factors can affect each person's immune system, such as genetics, gender, energy intake, age, and nutritional status. Research Methods. the method used in this study is a literature review. A literature search, both international and national, was carried out using the Sinta Indonesia database according to the topic to be discussed by the author. The data obtained were published from 2014-2021. There were 11 articles obtained, 10 of which became material for analysis of the objectives, methods, and interventions, and the results and the suitability of the topics carried out in the research and making of this article. Research Result. it is likely that energy intake will significantly affect the speed, agility, and endurance of an athlete.  Conclusion. The effect of energy intake on the performance and strength of the athlete's body can be significantly related depending on the type of exercise performed by the athlete.

Abstract

Kecukupan energi dan gizi atlet merupakan salah satu faktor penting yang menunjang prestasi olahraga. Pemenuhan nutrisi yang tepat sesuai dengan kebutuhan individu atlet merupakan prasyarat utama bagi kesehatan, kebugaran jasmani, dan prestasi olahraga terutama pada saat menjalani pertandingan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi korelasi status gizi dan evaluasi energi terhadap kinerja dan kebugaran atlet. Metode yang digunakan studi literatur atau pustaka pustaka, yakni dengan mengadopsi sekumpulan sumber data yang telah dikumpulkan dan diperoleh sebelumnya untuk dihubungkan dan dielaborasikan kembali. Berdasarkan penyeleksian, terdapat sepuluh jurnal yang terseleksi sebagai dasar sekaligus sumber penelitian. Ditinjau dari berbagai informasi yang telah digali dan dianalisis, terdapat korelasi antara status gizi dan evaluasi energi terhadap kinerja dan kebugaran atlet

Abstract

Obesity is an excessive accumulation of fat in adipose tissue caused by an imbalance between the amount of energy that enters and that is expended by the body. Obesity criteria for children aged 6-12 years is with a Z-score BMI/U > + 2 SD. Based on Riskesdas data in 2018, the prevalence of obesity in children increased rapidly to 31.0%. The factors that cause obesity in children are genetics, diet, socioeconomic status of the family, and physical activity. The purpose to determine the relationship between consumption patterns, intake of eating habits, and physical activity on the incidence of obesity in elementary school children. The method used in the study used a literature review design. The results of the analysis from the literature review found that there was a significant relationship between eating patterns, intake of eating habits, and physical activity on the incidence of obesity in elementary school children in several cities in Indonesia. Conclusion rating patterns with less frequency of eating plus the number of portions for each large meal, as well as intake of eating habits that are not in accordance with balanced nutrition guidelines, and children's lack of physical activity are risk factors for obesity in elementary school children. Keywords: obesity; Comsumption Pattern;  food intake; physical activity; primary school children

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is one of the most common degenerative diseases found in the productive age to elderly. Education can be used as an initial and main stage given by nutritionists in treating DM disease to outpatients or inpatients. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of nutrition education on DM patients' diet changes. The method used in this study is to analyze, review, and compare research results from 5 main journal articles and 11 supporting journal articles. The results of the analysis and reviews of several research journal articles with similar topics showed significant changes in the diet of DM patients. This can be seen from the higher-quality decrease in blood pressure and daily food intake. The conclusion of this study is that it is known that nutrition education can improve the diet of DM patients to increase. ABSTRAKDiabetes melitus (DM) merupakan salah satu penyakit degeneratif yang banyak ditemukan pada usia produktif hingga lansia. Edukasi dapat dijadikan sebagai suatu tahap awal dan utama yang diberikan oleh ahli gizi dalam merawat penyakit DM kepada pasien rawat jalan atau pun pasien rawat inap. Tujuan kajian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh edukasi gizi terhadap perubahan pola makan pasien DM. Metode yang digunakan dalam kajian ini yaitu dengan menganalisis, mengulas, dan membandingkan hasil penelitian dari 5 artikel jurnal utama dan 11 artikel jurnal pendukung. Hasil analisis dan ulasan dari beberapa artikel jurnal penelitian dengan topik yang serupa menunjukkan terdapat perubahan yang signifikan terhadap pola makan pasien DM. Hal ini terlihat dari menurunnya dula darah dan asupan makan harian yang lebih berkualitas. Kesimpulan dari kajian ini yaitu diketahui jika edukasi gizi dapat meningkatkan pola makan pasien DM menjadi meningkat.

Abstract

Background: Three types of undernutrition including stunting, underweight, and wasting, are a global public health problem. In terms of policies, guidance, programming, and financing, they are mostly separated while all of them are caused by poor diet. Objectives: This study aimed to identify the association of underweight and wasting status with stunting of the children and health insurance subscriptions in the Coastal Area. Methods: This was a cross-sectional study involving children aged 6 to 59 months. Demographic backgrounds were obtained from parents through a questionnaire. Height and weight were measured. Z-scores for height-for-age, weight-for-age, and weight-for-age were determined and classified using WHO AnthroPlus software. The binary logistic regression test was used to identify the association of variables. Results: A total of 108 children participated in the study. The prevalence of stunting, being underweight, and wasting was 21.3%, 21.3%, and 13.9% respectively. It was found that most demographic characteristics (age, gender) and health insurance were similar in each of the undernutrition types, except for age level in stunting children. The risk of stunting in underweight children is significant differences, but not for wasting children in the coastal area. This study also shows that there is a significant correlation between the incidence of stunting with wasting and being underweight in children in the coastal area of Karawang. Conclusions: Overall, underweight children tend to have a stunting risk. The policy and community-based program need to not focus on one category of undernutrition only, but also on other types of undernutrition simultaneously, with the aim that nutritional problems in children can be handled holistically.

Abstract

Sejak tahun 2020 telah terjadi pandemi covid-19 yang memberikan dampak pada masyarakat secara ekonomi, seperti penurunan pendapatan bahkan kehilangan pekerjaan. Hal tersebut berdampak pada menurunnya akses pangan masyarakat Indonesia. Salah satu upaya untuk menangani masalah kekurangan pangan di tingkat rumah tangga adalah pembuatan home gardening. Oleh karena itu tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan edukasi kepada masyarakat tentang manfaat dan tata cara home gardening. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat dilaksanakan dalam bentuk webinar yang dilakukan melalui Zoom dan Youtube. Metode yang digunakan untuk menilai peningkatan pengetahuan menggunakan kuesioner online (pre-test dan post-test) yang diisi oleh 56 peserta kegiatan. Berdasarkan hasil pengambilan data didapatkan bahwa terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan kategori baik sebanyak 53,6% dan kategori sangat baik 32,1%. Hal tersebut menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini memberikan dampak yang baik terhadap peserta, berupa peningkatan pengetahuan tentang home gardening.Since 2020, there has been a Covid-19 pandemic which has an impact on reducing income and losing jobs. This had an impact of decreasing food access for the Indonesian people. One of the efforts to address food insecurity at the household level is home gardening. Therefore, the aim of this activity is to educate the public about the benefits and procedures of home gardening. Community service activities are carried out in the form of webinars which are conducted through Zoom and Youtube. The method used to assess the increase in knowledge used an online questionnaire (pre-test and post-test) which was filled in by 56 participants. Based on the results, it was found that there was an increase in good category knowledge as much as 53.6% and very good category 32.1%. This shows that this activity has a good impact in the form of increasing participants' knowledge about home gardening.

Abstract

Previous studies have shown that illness, especially infectious diseases, is a risk factor for malnutrition in children aged 6-59 months. Environmental sanitation is an important factor that influences the occurrence of infection. The purpose of this study was to assess the relationship between the use of clean water sources and the use of household latrines with a history of diseases in children aged 6-59 months. This study used a cross-sectional design with 108 research subjects. Research subjects were selected using accidental sampling. Collecting data using interview and observation techniques. The results showed that there was no significant relationship between the type of source of drinking water, type of source of washing water, type of latrines, and ownership of latrines with a history of diseases in the research subjects. The history of diseases in the research subjects was significantly related to the distance between the water source and the waste disposal site (p-value <0.05). Based on these results, further efforts are needed to improve environmental sanitation in coastal areas to prevent an increase in morbidity in children under five.

Abstract

Minuman bubuk daun kersen dengan penambahan bubuk kunyit merupakan produk yang dapat dijadikan pilihan sebagai minuman yang mengandung antioksidan. Daun kersen dan kunyit memiliki manfaat sebagai anti inflamasi, anti bakteri, dan antioksidan. Tujuan penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui tingkat kesukaan terhadap minuman bubuk daun kersen dengan penambahan bubuk kunyit dan melalui uji organoleptik. Uji organoleptik dilakukan dengan uji hedonik, mutu hedonik, dan uji rangking. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian eksperimental menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap dengan empat perlakuan penambahan bubuk kunyit pada bubuk daun kersen sebanyak 0%, 7,5%, 10%, dan 12,5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak terdapat perbedaan signifikan rata-rata uji hedonik tiap perlakuan pada semua parameter (p>0,05), sedangkan rata-rata uji mutu hedonik tiap perlakuan pada parameter aroma, rasa, kejernihan, dan aftertaste terdapat perbedaan yang signifikan (p<0,05). Nilai rata-rata tingkat kesukaan panelis melalui uji rangking terhadap parameter warna, aroma, rasa, kejernihan dan aftertaste setiap perlakuan menunjukkan bahwa sampel dengan penambahan bubuk kunyit sebanyak 10% merupakan produk terpilih. Sampel dengan penambahan kunyit 10% merupakan produk terpilih dengan kategori disukai memiliki kriteria mutu berwarna agak gelap, beraroma harum, rasa pahit, agak keruh, dan memiliki aftertaste yang kuat.

Abstract

Stunting merupakan masalah kesehatan akibat kekurangan gizi secara kronis. Penelitian-penelitian sebelumnya menunjukkan kader Posyandu berperan penting dalam penanganan stunting. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah memberikan pengetahuan gizi pada kader Posyandu di daerah pesisir pantai Karawang. Metode kegiatan yang dilakukan adalah penyuluhan dan pelatihan. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 89 kader Posyandu. Berdasarkan hasil pre-test dan post-test menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan persentase peserta yang memiliki pengetahuan gizi dengan kategori cukup dari 15,7% menjadi 62,9%, serta peserta yang memiliki pengetahuan gizi berkategori baik dari 3,4% menjadi 12,4 %. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan bahwa pemberian kegiatan pendidikan gizi mampu meningkatkan pengetahuan gizi secara signifikan pada kader Posyandu di pesisir pantai Karawang
