The research employs a quantitative approach, targeting the student population of one of islamic school in Ciamis. The sample, comprising 181 students aged 13 to 16 years (male and female), was selected using a proportionate stratified random sampling technique. The instruments used in this study include the Family Social Support Scale, the Student Engagement Scale (SES), and the Maslach Burnout Inventory Student Survey (MBI-SS). Data analysis was conducted using SmartPLS 4.0 software, which involved testing the outer and inner models. The results of the analysis indicate t-statistics of 5.549 > 1.96 and p-values of 0.00 < 0.05, confirming that the hypothesis is accepted. This finding demonstrates that family social support significantly affects academic burnout, with student engagement acting as a mediator among islamic students.

Abstract

This research focuses on investigating the influence of parent and peer attachment on the growth mindset of students enrolled in Private Vocational High Schools in Purwokerto, Indonesia. Stratified proportional random sampling was employed to select participants for this study. Consent was obtained from 235 students who participated. The gender distribution was skewed toward females (57.9%) compared to males (42.1%), with the majority of participants being 16 years old (46.7%). The Inventory of Parent and Peer Attachment (IPPA) was used to measure parent and peer attachment, while the Growth Mindset Scale was employed to assess participants' growth-oriented attitudes. A linear regression analysis was utilized to examine the predictive relationship between mother, father, and peer attachment and growth mindset scores. The results demonstrated significant gender-based variations across the variables studied. Notably, females exhibited significantly higher Mother Attachment scores, indicating a stronger attachment to their mothers. Nonetheless, no considerable gender disparities emerged in Father Attachment scores. Although the distinction in Peer Attachment scores was close to significance (p = 0.053), females displayed slightly higher attachment to peers. A marked gender discrepancy was identified in Growth Mindset scores, with females displaying a notably more positive perspective toward growth and learning opportunities. Furthermore, predictive modeling revealed that Mother Attachment exerted a significant positive impact on Growth Mindset scores (β = 0.3), implying that a stronger attachment to mothers corresponded to a more favorable growth-oriented mindset. Similarly, Father Attachment positively contributed to Growth Mindset scores (β = 0.25). Additionally, Peer Attachment demonstrated a modest yet positive association (β = 0.13). The calculated R² values indicated that both Mother Attachment and Father Attachment collectively accounted for approximately 18% of the variance in Growth Mindset scores, while Peer Attachment contributed to a smaller extent (1%). Collectively, these findings shed light on the intricate relationships between attachment, age, and mindset. They underscore the roles of different attachments in shaping individuals' growth-oriented perspectives and highlight the nuanced gender differences in attachment and mindset. This study provides valuable insights for educators, parents, and policymakers aiming to promote positive growth mindsets among students.

Abstract

Prior research has demonstrated that bullying at Islamic boarding schools is a concerning issue, since it can hinder the psychological, social, and spiritual growth of students. Islamic boarding schools continue to report numerous incidents of bullying, encompassing verbal, physical, and social manifestations, despite their recognition as institutions that promote Islamic values. This study implemented a program to reduce bullying behaviour in a boarding school. This experimental study utilised both quantitative and qualitative methods, notably implementing a pretest-posttest design. Researchers selected a total of 30 students. The researchers gathered data by distributing a questionnaire designed to quantify the bullying variable. Following the data collection, the researchers implemented an intervention. Before the Ta'awun training intervention, researchers conducted a pretest to assess the students' baseline comprehension of bullying. Researchers utilised the pretest data to delineate the participants' status before the intervention. Researchers conducted a posttest in the last phase to evaluate the participants' knowledge of bullying following the intervention. The results indicated an 8.33% improvement in kids' comprehension of anti-bullying Ta'awun. The students successfully developed posters displaying the words "no bullying", accompanied by relevant drawings as a means of anti-bullying expression. Students preferred the Ta'awun anti-bullying program due to its comprehensive and collaborative approach, grounded in Islamic teachings. The students appreciated the Ta'awun anti-bullying initiative for its thorough and cooperative methodology, which is grounded in Islamic principles. Ta'awun training is designed with the student's well-being and the institution's needs in mind, so that participants can carry out their role as anti-bullying ambassadors with enthusiasm and without feeling burdened.

Abstract

Thesis-writing students experience heightened academic stress due to the simultaneous demands of college assignments and thesis completion, leading to a significant sense of burden. A personality trait known as conscientiousness is characterized by adherence to obedient, organized, careful, determined, and disciplined behavior. This study examines the correlation between conscientiousness and academic stress among thesis-writing students in the Faculty of Economics and Business at a university in Indonesia. This study employs a quantitative correlational approach. The data collection techniques involve employing a simple random sampling method to gather information from a sample of 200 students from the Faculty of Economics and Business who are presently engaged in writing their theses. The study utilized the academic stress scale (Academic Stress Inventory) (α cronbach = 0.90) and the conscientiousness personality scale (Big Five Inventory) (α cronbach = 0.78) as measuring tools. SPSS tools are utilized in technical correlation analysis. The analysis reveals a significant negative correlation (r = -0.365, p < 0.01) between conscientiousness personality and academic stress among students at the Faculty of Economics and Business, currently engaged in thesis writing at the university. The relationship between conscientiousness and personality and academic stress reduction in students is positively correlated. This study recommends to provide psychoeducation programs for writing a thesis and seminars for students to develop the conscientiousness personality before preparing a thesis.

Abstract

This study addressed the limited number of in-depth investigations into the lived meaning of ta’awun among students in Islamic boarding schools, despite its crucial role in shaping their social and spiritual character. Using a qualitative phenomenological approach, this research explored how students experience and interpret ta’awun in their daily dormitory life. Six students, who had lived for two to five years in a Muhammadiyah boarding school in Banyumas, Central Java, participated in semi-structured interviews lasting 45–60 minutes. Data were analysed ideographically and subsequently synthesized across cases using Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). The findings revealed complementary interpretations of ta’awun, as emotional regulation through empathy, as worship that fosters sincerity and inner calm, as mediation in conflict resolution, and as a means of strengthening ukhuwah and social inclusivity. The cross-case synthesis illustrated ta’awun as an evolving spiritual–emotional process, beginning with worship that cultivates sincerity, followed by emotional regulation facilitating relational mediation, leading to social inclusion and ukhuwah, and ultimately culminating in social harmony and inner tranquillity. Overall, ta’awun is not merely an act of helping but a continuous process that fosters emotional balance and restores social relationships within the dormitory context. Islamic values, collective awareness, and group identity serve as the foundation sustaining consistent prosocial behavior. This study deepened the phenomenological understanding of ta’awun as a form of lived spirituality that integrates faith, emotional regulation, and communal restoration. Future studies are encouraged to examine other educational contexts to expand its transferability and relevance for character education grounded in Islamic values
