Abstract

This is a descriptive qualitative research which aimed at finding the perception and obstacles of college students in writing. The subject of this research was all of students in English Education Department of STKIP Suar Bangli in academic year 2018/2019. There were three instruments used in this research, namely questionnaire, interview and documentation. From the data analysis it was found that students of English Education Department considered writing was important for them and considered as the second most important skill after speaking. Teaching writing skill should be taught through the process of writing (drafting, writing and revising) in relax and fun situation with many practices. The evaluation of writing should also provide feedbacks for their writing improvement. The most challenging obstacle that should be solved by the students was finding ideas. The students also proposed some reasons that may trigger them to write such as having idea/inspiration, having assignment, being in a good mood, there is time allocation for writing, having motivation, and being in supportive situation and condition. It is also suggested to teach writing skill by using project-based learning through proper process of writing starting from pre-writing, drafting, writing, revision and editing. The evaluation was also in form of portfolio assessment.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menyelidiki, mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan bagaimana maxim percakapan diobservasi oleh siswa-siswa Front Office di Mediterranean College ketika mereka praktek bekerja sebagai staff Front Office dan jenis maxims non-observance apa yang dihasilkan oleh siswa-siswa Front Office dalam mengobservasi maxim percakapan dalam kaitannya dengan kesopanan. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa-siswa Front Office di Mediterranean College. Data untuk penelitian kualitatif ini dikumpulkan melalui observasi dan wawancara yang kemudian dianalisa dengan menggunakan teori Cooperative Principle dari Paul Grice?s (1975). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa baik siswa laki-laki dan perempuan menghasilkan persentase tinggi dalam mengobservasi maxim of quantity (45.09%) untuk persentase siswa laki-laki dan (55.71%) untuk persentase siswa perempuan. Penelitian ini juga menemukan bahwa maxim of quantity adalah maxim dominan yang diobservasi oleh siswa-siswa front office di Mediterranean College. Hal terpenting yakni membangun sebuah percakapan seinformatif sebagaimana yang diperlukan. Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa-siswa Front Office mengobservasi maxim percakapan dalam melakukan reservasi. Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa siswa-siswa front office laki-laki dan perempuan menghasilkan persentase tinggi dari maxim of quantity guna membangun percakapan seinformatif sebagaimana yang diperlukan. The subjects were the Front Office students of Mediterranean College. The data for this qualitative study were collected through observation and interviews which were then analyzed by using Paul Grice?s (1975) Cooperative Principle theory. The study showed that the Front Office students observed conversational maxims in certain part of handling table reservation. This study found that both male and female students produced high percentage of observing maxim of quantity (45.09%) of male students percentage and (55.71%) of female students percentage. This study also found that maxim of quantity was the dominant maxim observed by the front office students at Mediterranean College. The point was making a conversation as informative as is required. Abstract

This study was intended to investigate, describe and explain how conversational maxims are observed by the Front Office staff at restaurants in Ubud when they handle table reservation and what types of non-observance are committed by the Front Office staff in observing conversational maxims. The subjects were the Front Office staff at restaurants in Ubud district. The data for this naturalistic qualitative study were collected through observation and audio-recording which were then analyzed by using Paul Grice’s (1975) Cooperative Principle theory. In this research, there were 30 conversations of taking table reservation via telephone which were conducted by the front office staff at restaurants in Ubud sub-district when they handle table reservation. Generally, both male and female front office staff produced more observance of maxims than non-observance of maxims. The highest frequency of observance and non-observance of Gricean maxims produced by male front office staff was maxim of quantity (100%), then followed by flouting of maxims (62.5%), and infringing maxims (25%). The highest frequency of observance and non-observance of Gricean maxims produced by female front office staff was maxim of quantity (100%), then followed by flouting of maxims (68.1%), and infringing of maxims (9.0%). Moreover, there was no opting out of maxims and suspending of maxims occurred in the conversation. The utterances were obtained from 30 data in restaurant setting. In general, both male and female front office staff produced more observance of maxims than non-observance of maxims.

Abstract

Dampak pandemi covid-19 terhadap sistem pendidikan di Indonesia mengakibatkan terganggunya sistem pembelajaran disertai dengan beralihnya pembelajaran konvensional menjadi pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui, mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan bagaimana persepsi dan hambatan guru dalam melakukan e-learning pada saat pandemi virus corona di gugus 1 yang terdiri dari enam sekolah negeri tingkat sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Susut, Kabupaten Bangli, Bali. Enam sekolah dasar negeri tersebut diantaranya SDN 1 Tiga, SDN 2 Tiga, SDN 3 Tiga, SDN 4 Tiga, SDN 5 Tiga, dan SDN 6 Tiga. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Kelemahan pembelajaran online yakni pembelajaran online tidak berjalan efektif disebabkan banyaknya siswa yang tidak memiliki perangkat seperti handphone, ketergantungan akan kuota internet, ketersediaan jaringan yang memadai, kesulitan guru dalam mendampingi siswa belajar, dan guru sulit dalam memantau perilaku dan disiplin siswa. Implementasi kurikulum dalam masa pandemi covid-19 terlaksana dengan cukup baik melalui diberlakukannya kurikulum darurat. Rancangan guru dalam memberikan penilaian akhir hasil belajar bagi peserta didik melalui pengumpulan tugas, penilaian ulangan harian, penilaian tengah semester, penilaian akhir semester dan fortofolio. Saran bagi para guru dan siswa agar proses belajar mengajar secara online menjadi lebih menyenangkan melalui penggunaan metode yang bervariasi, seperti penggunaan media pembelajaran yang inovatif.

Abstract

Pandemi covid-19 yang berimbas juga kepada dunia pendidikan yang harus melaksanakan Pembelajaran Jarak Jauh menyebabkan juga permasalahan baru mengenai pendampingan belajar siswa khususnya siswa usia TK dalam melaksanakan pembelajaran secara daring dengan pendampingan orang tua di rumah. Berangkat dari permasalahan awal ini, penulis mengadakan penelitian pengembangan buku panduan homeschooling berbantuan metode Montessori untuk pengenalan bahasa Inggris dasar untuk siswa TK B di Kiddos Preschool Gianyar. Kiddos Preschool dipilih sebagai lokasi karena siswa TK B di sekolah tersebut menggunakan bahasa pengantar bahasa Inggris dalam pembelajarannya baik online maupun saat kelas offline. Jumlah subjek yang dipergunakan untuk uji produk kelompok kecil adalah sejumlah 15 orang tua beserta anaknya sebagai siswa TK B. Dari hasil penelitian pengembangan tersebut didapatkan hasil bahwa buku panduan ini sangat baik dipergunakan untuk mengenalkan bahasa Inggris dasar pada anak usia TK B. Ditambah lagi ketika uji kelompok kecil didapatkan hasil keefektifan yang sangat efektif buku ini dipergunakan sebagai panduan homeschooling oleh orang tua kepada anaknya dalam pengenalan bahasa Inggris dasar.

Abstract

Kebijakan pembelajaran jarak jauh (PJJ) selama pandemi COVID-19 menimbulkan masalah baru bagi pendidikan. Penyelenggaraan pendidikan dan pembelajaran telah mengalami perubahan yang drastis. Pembelajaran tidak lagi menggunakan pertemuan konvensional tatap muka, tetapi mulai diintegrasikan dengan pembelajaran online. Maka penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui sejauh mana keefektifan penerapan blended learning pada pembelajaran bahasa Inggris di SMK Negeri 2 Bangli. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah guru Bahasa Inggris kelas X,XI,XII SMK Negeri 2 Bangli yang melaksanakan pembelajaran jarak jauh dengan metode blended learning. Dalam penelitian ini metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kolaborasi yang baik antara guru, siswa, dan orang tua dapat mengatasi masalah dalam mengadaptasi metode blended learning pada saat pandemi. Penerapan metode blended learning dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris menuntut guru untuk kreatif dalam menyediakan platform pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris berupa link YouTube, video atau powerpoint. Keaktifan siswa di dalam pertemuan viaGoogle Meet dan orang tua yang mendukung siswa selama pembelajaran online sangat membantu kemajuan siswa.

Abstract

Penerapan pembelajaran daring tentunya diiringi oleh permasalahan baru dalam proses pembelajaran maupun dalam mengevaluasi peserta didik. Dalam penerapan pembelajaran daring terdapat permasalahan terkait kesulitan guru dalam mengevaluasi sikap peserta didik terutama dalam menilai sikap siswa selama pembelajaran daring. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana sikap peserta didik selama mengikuti pembelajaran daring selama masa pandemi. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner terkait mengenai analisis teknik penilaian sikap siswa selama pembelajaran daring pada masa pandemi yang diisi oleh responden. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian yang telah dilakukan diperoleh hasil bahwa penilaian sikap dalam pembelajaran daring sulit dilakukan dan hasilnya kurang akurat. Penilaian sikap selama pembelajaran daring masih sebatas guru melihat respon peserta didik dalam hal mengerjakan tugas yang diberikan dan penilaian sikap menjadi hal yang perlu untuk dibenahi selama pembelajaran daring di era new normal dari segi kesiapan guru menyiapkan instrumen dan mengkondisikan siswa agar mengembangkan karakter selama pembelajaran daring.

Abstract

This research is aimed to find out whether or not the implementation of four-phase technique during students’ learning activities. A class of accounting class in Triatma Mulya University is participated as the participant of this research.  The required data were collected through the use of questionnaire, observation checklist, and writing test. The data from the questionnaire indicated that students had positive attitude toward the implementation of Four-Phase Technique. Four-Phase improves their motivation in learning English and this technique brings more fun to the process of learning. Moreover, it was found from observation data that the students were actively participated during Four-Phase implementation. Finally, the study proved that Four-Phase Technique improved students’ writing skill. Students’ mean score of writing  before implemented this technique was 57.20  in the beginning of the study the mean score  was 72,5 their mean scores improved from 78,94 to  84,23.
