Abstract

Farmers are grappling with drought challenges that jeopardize rice production. To address this, the government is promoting the use of water pumps and the construction of reservoirs. However, reservoir development comes with specific stipulations, such as the land used needing to be owned by the village or government. Climate change poses a significant challenge to Indonesia's agricultural sector. The pump irrigation program has emerged as a crucial solution for water scarcity in farmlands. This research was conducted in Belangturi Village, Ruteng District, Manggarai Regency, chosen purposively due to its status as a key rice paddy development area. The study took place from December 2023 to April 2024, employing simple random sampling. Data indicates there are 40 active rice paddy farmers in Belang Turi Village. An economic analysis forecasts substantial benefits from this program, including a 20-30% increase in rice production, an improved cropping index, crop diversification, and a 40-60% rise in farmer income. The financial analysis yields highly positive results: an NPV of IDR 450,000,000, an IRR of 18%, a Payback Period of 4.5 years, and a BCR of 1.75, all strongly indicating a highly feasible investment. From a social standpoint, pump irrigation is desperately needed and enthusiastically supported by the community. It's perceived as vital for overcoming critical water shortages, enhancing welfare, and improving access to education and healthcare. Therefore, implementing this pump irrigation system is highly recommended as a comprehensive solution for sustainable agricultural development in Belang Turi Village.

Abstract

Sektor hortikultura di Indonesia menghadapi tantangan signifikan akibat ketergantungan petani kepada tengkulak dan minimnya pemahaman pemasaran modern. Petani seringkali menerima harga rendah karena rantai distribusi yang tidak efisien, serta kurangnya pengetahuan digital dan branding yang menyebabkan produk mereka tidak memiliki identitas jelas dan kesulitan membangun loyalitas pelanggan. Potensi Kelompok Tani “Nai Ca Anggit Anggit” dalam pertanian organik, meskipun besar, terhambat oleh kurangnya pemahaman digital, sehingga strategi branding dan pemasaran melalui media sosial, informasi produk lengkap, dan sistem pre-order (PO), serta pendampingan profesional, sangat dibutuhkan untuk memperkuat daya saing. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini berhasil meletakkan dasar bagi praktik pemasaran yang lebih berkelanjutan dan menguntungkan, mengurangi ketergantungan kepada tengkulak, dan mengoptimalkan nilai jual produk petani.

Abstract

Stunting remains a serious public health issue in Indonesia, particularly in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), which has a higher prevalence compared to other regions. This community service activity was carried out in Buar Village, North Rahong Subdistrict, Manggarai Regency by a team from Santu Paulus Ruteng Catholic University. The implementation methods included collecting stunting data from the health department, conducting interviews with the village head, an initial assessment of community understanding, educational outreach, mentoring, and a final evaluation. Initial assessments showed that only 30% of the community understood issues related to nutrition and stunting, primarily those with higher education levels. After educational sessions led by four expert speakers and interactive mentoring, community understanding significantly increased to 75%. This activity demonstrates that community-based education is effective in raising public nutrition awareness. The sustainability of stunting prevention efforts requires cross-sector collaboration among the government, community members, traditional leaders, and educational institutions so that knowledge change can be translated into real, everyday behaviors.

Abstract

Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT) memiliki potensi besar dalam sektor pertanian, didukung oleh kondisi geografisyang beragam dan sumber daya alam yang melimpah. Namun, sektor ini juga menghadapi sejumlah tantanganyang menghambat pertumbuhannya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi potensi pertanian diNTT dari sudut pandang geografis dan produksi, serta mengidentifikasi kendala dan tantangan yang dihadapi.Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan menganalisis data sekunder dari berbagai sumber,seperti literatur, jurnal, dan data statistik dari Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS). Analisis data dilakukan secaradeskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa NTT memiliki potensi besar dalam sektor pertanian, namunmenghadapi kendala seperti kondisi geografis yang ekstrim, keterbatasan infrastruktur, dan perubahan iklim.Untuk memaksimalkan potensi tersebut, diperlukan upaya yang komprehensif dan berkelanjutan.Kata Kunci: Geografis, Potensi, Sektor Pertanian, Produksi

Abstract

Abstrak: Pengolahan kopi menjadi bubuk dapat menjadi salah satu cara yang efektif untuk meningkatkan nilai tambah komoditas kopi dan memberikan manfaat ekonomi bagi petani kopi. Desa Compang memiliki potensi sumber daya kopi, namun masih belum diolah secara optimal. Dengan diberikan pelatihan ini diharapkan membantu masyarakat setempat memanfaatkan potensi tersebut. Kegiatan ini mendorong kemandirian ekonomi masyarakat, khususnya kelompok wanita, dengan menciptakan peluang usaha Tujuan kegiatan ini adalah melalui pelatihan, peserta akan dapat meningkatkan mereka dalam pengolahan kopi bubuk. Kegiatan ini laksanakan di Desa Compang Dalo yang terlibat dala kegiatan ini 20 anggota kelompok. Hasilnya dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan signifikan pada tingkat pengetahuan peserta setelah mengikuti pelatihan di buktikan dengan kemampuan setelah mengikuti pelatihan10% Rendah, 60% Sedang, 30% Tinggi. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa meningkatkan kapasitas kelompok wanita tani dalam memproduksi kopi bubuk secara mandiri, sehingga dapat memberikan dampak terhadap kesejahteraan ekonomi di tingkat lokal.Abstract: Coffee processing into powder can be an effective way to increase the added value of coffee commodities and provide economic benefits to coffee farmers. Compang Village has the potential of coffee resources, but it has not been optimally processed. With this training, it is expected to help the local community utilize this potential. This activity promotes the economic independence of the community, especially women's groups, by creating business opportunities. The purpose of this activity is that through training, participants will be able to improve their skills in processing coffee powder. This activity was carried out in Compang Dalo Village involving 20 group members. The results show that the participants' knowledge and skills have increased significantly, as evidenced by the increase in the level of participants' knowledge after the training: 10% Low, 60% Medium, 30% High. It can be concluded that increasing the capacity of women farmers' groups in producing coffee powder independently can have an impact on economic welfare at the local level.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Pengolahan limbah nasi menjadi pupuk organik cair (MOL) merupakan solusi efektif untuk mengurangi timbunan sampah organik dan emisi gas rumah kaca. MOL yang kaya akan mikroorganisme bermanfaat dapat memperbaiki kualitas tanah dan meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian Selama ini, limbah nasi seringkali dianggap sebagai sampah yang tidak bernilai dan hanya dibuang begitu saja. Padahal, limbah nasi memiliki potensi besar untuk diolah menjadi produk yang bermanfaat, salah satunya adalah pupuk organik cair (MOL). Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberdayakan masyarkat untuk memperoleh pengetahuan dan keterampilan tentang pembuatan (MOL). Metode kegiatan yaitu memberikan praktek langsung Bersama masyarakat. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat tentang pentingnya pengelolaan sampah organik dan pemanfaatan limbah. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga dapat memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan baru kepada masyarakat dalam membuat pupuk organik cair. Hasil menunjukkan penurunan dalam jumlah limbah makanan dan peningkatan produktivitas ternak. Selain itu, program ini telah meningkatkan kesadaran masyarakat akan pentingnya pengelolaan limbah yang berkelanjutan dan membuka peluang ekonomi baru bagi petani. Inovasi ini memberikan kontribusi nyata dalam mewujudkan pertanian yang ramah lingkungan dan berkelanjutan. Berdasarkan hasil evaluasi pelatihan menunjukkan peningkatan setelah melakukan praktek mengalami peningkatan yaitu dengan 75% artinya kegiatan PkM dapat mempengaruhi kemampuan mitra atau sasaran. Kata Kunci: Limbah Nasi, Pupuk Organik Cair (MOL), Masyarakat.  ABSTRACT Processing rice waste into liquid organic fertilizer (Local Microorganisms/MOL) is an effective solution for reducing organic waste accumulation and greenhouse gas emissions. MOL, which is rich in beneficial microorganisms, can improve soil quality and increase agricultural productivity. Historically, rice waste has often been regarded as worthless refuse and is simply discarded. In fact, rice waste holds great potential to be processed into valuable products, such as liquid organic fertilizer (MOL). This activity aims to empower the community by providing them with the knowledge and skills required for MOL production. The method employed involves direct practical training with the community. This initiative is expected to raise public awareness regarding the importance of organic waste management and waste utilization. Furthermore, it provides the community with new skills in producing liquid organic fertilizer. Results show a decrease in the amount of food waste and an increase in livestock productivity. Additionally, the program has heightened community awareness about sustainable waste management and opened new economic opportunities for farmers. This innovation provides a tangible contribution to achieving eco-friendly and sustainable agriculture. Based on the evaluation results, training participants showed a 75% improvement after the practical sessions, indicating that this Community Service (PkM) activity significantly enhances the capabilities of the partners or target groups. Keywords: Rice waste, Liquid Organic Fertilizer (MOL), Community.

Abstract

The research was conducted to find out whether Lejong culture can empower the Golo Worok village farmer group, especially in terms of increasing human resources, such as skills and knowledge of economic fiber. The problem in this research focuses on how Lejong culture influences the capabilities of farmer groups in Golo Worok Village, Ruteng District, and Manggarai Regency. This research aims to find out how the influence of the non-governmental organization Ayo Indonesia empowers the Golo Worok Village Farmer Group and how the Farmer Group feels the process and its impacts. The data used in the research are primary data and secondary data. To obtain primary data, observation and interview methods were used. Secondary data was obtained through several kinds of literature according to research needs. The research results show that Lejong culture significantly influences the empowerment of Golo Worok Village farmer groups and that socialization and discussion are approaches packaged in Lejong culture. It is recommended that all stakeholders collaborate to optimize Lejong as a strategy to empower farmers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar kontribusi kelompok tani dalam meningkatkan produksi kopi di Desa Tueng. Melalui wawancara dengan 40 petani kopi, penelitian ini menganalisis peran kelompok tani dalam meningkatkan produktivitas. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: Kelompok tani memainkan peran yang sangat penting dalam pengembangan pertanian. Data menunjukkan bahwa kelompok tani tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai wadah belajar, tetapi juga sebagai wadah untuk mendorong inovasi dan adopsi teknologi baru. Dengan demikian, kelompok tani berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan produktivitas pertanian dan kesejahteraan petani. kelompok tani telah berhasil berperan sebagai unit produksi yang efektif. Sebagian besar responden setuju bahwa kelompok tani mampu melakukan pengadaan sarana produksi secara bersama, mengadopsi teknologi modern, dan membangun sistem pemasaran bersama. Melalui kerja sama dalam kelompok tani, petani dapat memperoleh berbagai manfaat ekonomi. Pengadaan input produksi secara bersama memungkinkan petani memperoleh harga yang lebih murah, sementara pemasaran bersama membantu meningkatkan harga jual hasil panen. Pembentukan badan usaha bersama dan pembagian keuntungan secara adil juga berkontribusi pada peningkatan kesejahteraan petani

Abstract

The agricultural sector, especially horticulture, is a cornerstone of the Indonesian economy with great potential to improve farmers' welfare. However, adoption of modern farming methods remains a challenge, often leading to suboptimal yields. This study aims to analyze the impact of horticultural demonstration plots (demplots) on improving farmers' competency in Golo Village, Cibal District, Manggarai Regency. Conducted from May to June 2025, the study used a quantitative pre-test and post-test design with 60 farmers selected purposively from 250 participants. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and structured interviews. Quantitative analysis measured competency enhancement and identified dominant factors using multiple regression, supported by qualitative analysis. Results showed high participation rates, especially during planning and implementation. Farmers' competency increased significantly: technical cultivation knowledge rose by 55% (low to high), practical skills by 30% (moderate to high), and innovative attitudes by 25% (moderate to high). Multiple regression revealed that quality of assistance was the most dominant factor (B=0.580, p<0.001). Other significant factors included demplot frequency (B=0.420), duration (B=0.315), and availability of facilities (B=0.150). These findings indicate that horticultural demplots effectively transfer knowledge and skills and foster innovative attitudes through experiential learning and high-quality mentoring.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Masalah utama yang dihadapi petani di Desa Beo Cepang adalah rendahnya nilai jual produk dan keterbatasan akses terhadap gizi berkualitas akibat ketergantungan yang tinggi pada tengkulak serta minimnya pemahaman mengenai pemasaran modern. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat kapasitas ekonomi petani melalui transformasi tata kelola pemasaran beras lokal. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui tiga tahapan sistematis, yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Fokus utama kegiatan meliputi pengembangan model pemasaran inovatif melalui strategi branding, standardisasi pengemasan profesional, serta optimalisasi platform digital. Hasil dari program ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan pada nilai jual produk dan perluasan akses pasar bagi petani. Selain itu, terbentuknya unit usaha mandiri di bawah naungan kelompok tani berhasil menciptakan sistem ekonomi lokal yang lebih adil dan berkelanjutan. Penguatan ekonomi ini secara tidak langsung memperkokoh fondasi ketahanan gizi keluarga petani di Desa Beo Cepang. Kata Kunci: Petani Beras, Ekonomi Lokal, Ketahanan Gizi.  ABSTRACT The primary challenge faced by farmers in Beo Cepang Village is the low selling price of their products and limited access to quality nutrition due to heavy dependence on middlemen and a lack of understanding of modern marketing. This community service program aims to strengthen the economic capacity of farmers through the transformation of local rice marketing management. The implementation method was carried out in three systematic stages: preparation, execution, and evaluation. The main focus of the activities included the development of innovative marketing models through branding strategies, professional packaging standardization, and the optimization of digital platforms. The results of this program indicate a significant increase in product value and expanded market access for farmers. Furthermore, the establishment of independent business units under the auspices of farmer groups has successfully created a more equitable and sustainable local economic system. This economic empowerment indirectly strengthens the foundation of family nutritional security for farmers in Beo Cepang Village. Keywords: Rice Farmers, Local Economy, Nutritional Security
