Abstract

Mathematics is often perceived as difficult and boring by elementary school students, particularly regarding the topics of Least Common Multiple (LCM) and Greatest Common Factor (GCF), which results in low learning outcomes due to limited conceptual understanding and a lack of engaging, contextual learning media. This study aims to examine the improvement in students’ mathematics learning outcomes through the application of the MUSI (Multifunction) board media, an educational game-based tool designed to help students concretely and enjoyably grasp the concepts of LCM and GCF. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) conducted over two cycles, involving 20 fourth-grade students at SD Negeri 064966 Medan during the even semester of the 2024/2025 academic year. Each cycle comprised planning, implementation, observation, and reflection stages, using observation sheets and learning outcome tests as instruments. The results revealed an increase in learning mastery from 74.3% in cycle I to 92.5% in cycle II. Additionally, student activity improved from a “fair” to an “excellent” category. These findings demonstrate that the MUSI board media is effective in enhancing students’ mathematics learning outcomes and actively engaging students in the learning process.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low student activity and learning outcomes in the subject of Pancasila Education among fifth-grade students at SD Negeri 064966 Medan, evidenced by minimal student participation and failure to meet the Minimum Competency Criteria (KKM). The objectives of the study are to (1) improve student learning activity and (2) enhance student learning outcomes in Pancasila Education. The research employed Classroom Action Research (CAR) over two cycles, involving the stages of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. Data were collected through observations of student activity, learning outcome tests, and documentation. Learning mastery increased from 21.60% of students meeting the criteria in the pre-cycle to 62.10% in cycle I, and further to 86.50% in cycle II. Observations of student learning activity also showed improvement, with average group scores progressively increasing from cycle I to cycle II. The implementation of the Team Game Tournament (TGT) method proved effective in actively engaging students in learning and promoting more optimal learning outcomes. In conclusion, the TGT method can be applied as a teaching strategy to support the enhancement of student activity and learning outcomes in Pancasila Education.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh penggunaan media Simple Booklet terhadap keterampilan bertanya siswa pada mata pelajaran Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam dan Sosial (IPAS) di SD Sanggar Belajar Pandan, Malaysia. Media Simple Booklet berfungsi sebagai sarana pembelajaran yang mengombinasikan teks dan ilustrasi secara ringkas serta menarik, sehingga memudahkan peserta didik dalam memahami materi sekaligus meningkatkan keberanian mereka dalam mengajukan pertanyaan. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode observasi. Subjek penelitian terdiri atas 12 siswa kelas V, yang terdiri dari 8 siswa laki-laki dan 4 siswa perempuan. Data dikumpulkan melalui pre-test dan post-test yang dilaksanakan sebelum dan sesudah penerapan media Simple Booklet. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji validitas, uji normalitas, dan uji hipotesis melalui paired sample t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara penggunaan media Simple Booklet dan peningkatan keterampilan bertanya siswa, dengan nilai signifikansi (Sig. 2-tailed) sebesar 0,000 < 0,05. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa penggunaan Simple Booklet efektif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan siswa untuk bertanya, berpikir kritis, serta berpartisipasi aktif dalam proses pembelajaran IPAS. Dengan demikian, Simple Booklet dapat dijadikan alternatif media pembelajaran yang inovatif, menarik, dan efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan bertanya pada siswa sekolah dasar.

Abstract

This Community Partnership Program is "Training and Assistance of Elementary School Teachers in Willingness to Innovative Media Based on Screencast-O-Matic in the Covid-19 Pandemic". This program aims to assist teachers in developing innovative learning media based on Screencast-O.Matic that can increase students' interest and motivation in learning during learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. The reason for choosing MI Al-Fajar Sei Mencharim as a partner is to improve the quality of learning at the school. Another reason is that this school rarely receives training that supports job professionalism. The methods used in this PKM activity are 1) preparation, namely an initial visit to agree on a time for the implementation of the activity; 2) implementation. namely the implementation of training activities in preparing innovative learning media based on Screencast-O-Matic, as well as; 3) evaluation, namely collecting learning media that have been completed by the participants for feedback. This activity can be said to be successful, this is because of the 10 activity participants, 8 teachers were able to produce Screencast-O-Matic-based learning media by recording their teaching materials through this application, while the other two participants had problems with their laptops.

Abstract

Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah meningkatkan pemahaman guru dalam memanfaatkan google form sebagai instrument belajar siswa di SD. Kegiatan ini dilakukan melalui 3 tahap yaitu metode Participatory Rural Apraisal (PRA). Metode PRA tersebut dibagi menjadi tiga tahap yaitu persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan Refleksi. Pada tahap persiapan, dari kebijaksanaan yang diambil dalam pembelajaran daring, ditemukan berbagai masalah dalam pendistribusian evaluasi belajar, untuk itu dipersiapkan berbagai alat dan bahan dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan. Pada pelaksanaan, guru terlihat sangat antusias dan mampu mengembangkan berbagai bentuk soal pembelajaran dari pilihan ganda, isian, dan mencocokkan. Pada tahap refleksi didapat hasil pretes dan postes yang meningkat. Diharapkan pengabdian ini dapat terus dilakukan khususnya dari segi fleksibiltasnya dalam pembelajaran daring

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model DRTA berbantuan flash card terhadap peningkatan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa kelas III Sanggar Belajar Kepong, Malaysia. Penelitian menggunakan desain One Group Pretest–Posttest dengan melibatkan 15 siswa sebagai kelompok eksperimen. Instrumen lembar observasi yang telah divalidasi secara isi oleh ahli. Prosedur penelitian meliputi pemberian pretest, penerapan model DRTA berbantuan flash card selama beberapa pertemuan, dan pemberian posttest. Analisis data dilakukan menggunakan uji normalitas Shapiro-Wilk dan uji t berpasangan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa skor rata-rata meningkat dari 59,07 pada pretest menjadi 76,14 pada posttest. Uji t berpasangan menunjukkan perbedaan signifikan antara kedua skor (p = 0,001 < 0,05), sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa model DRTA berbantuan flash card efektif meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan agar guru memasukkan strategi DRTA dan penggunaan media visual seperti flash card dalam pembelajaran membaca untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan dan pemahaman siswa.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of ethnomathematics media, in the form of engklek games, on the problem-solving abilities of third-grade students at SD Negeri Kepong, Malaysia. This is quantitative research. Mathematics learning in elementary schools generally still focuses on conventional methods that emphasize memorizing formulas for students without linking them to the context of students' lives. This condition affects low mathematical problem-solving abilities, especially with flat shapes. The ethnomathematics approach through the traditional game of engklek offers an alternative, contextual, and fun learning experience by linking local cultural elements to geometric concepts. This study used a pre-experimental, one-group pretest-posttest design with 6 third-grade students from SD Sanggar Bimbingan Kepong, Malaysia, selected using a total sampling technique. Data collection for this study was conducted as a pretest-posttest with 10 questions. Students were given a pretest before treatment, and then a posttest. The study found that ethnomathematics media in the form of engklek games, as a mathematics learning medium, influenced the learning outcomes of third-grade students at SD Negeri Kepong, Malaysia. This is evidenced by the change in the number of students who completed the learning, with an increase from the pretest (38.33) to the posttest (81.67). The normality test showed that the data were normally distributed (p> 0.05; pretest sig. value = 0.421; posttest sig. value = 0.212). The paired-samples T-test showed a significant result (p=0.000 <). Thus, the use of ethnomathematics media in the form of hopscotch games is effective in improving the ability to solve problems involving flat shapes and in making learning more active, fun, and meaningful.
