Abstract

This research aims to examine Ali Zain al-Jufri's religious moderation. Through his work, al-Insaniyya qabla al-Tadayyun (Humanity before Religiosity), al-Jufri responds to the religious forms of Muslims in several parts of the world. By focusing on this work, the researchers thoroughly explore al-Jufri's thoughts regarding religious moderation. Why is this work relevant for study? Apart from the fact that no previous research has examined al-Jufri's work, this work is increasingly relevant to study if we reflect on current sociological facts. Much violence occurs in the name of religion. Those behaviors are nothing more than forms of interpretation, which are then considered the voice of God. At least, al-Jufri's work is one way out as an oasis to these problems. The method used in this research is a review-based qualitative method that focuses on examining al-Jufri's work. This research is classified as library research. In the end, this research concluded that there are three significant values of al-Jufri's religious moderation, including the command to speak good words (Surah al-Baqarah [2]: 83), the prohibition on killing fellow humans (Surah al-Ma'idah [3]: 32), and the order to uphold justice on earth (Surah al-Nisa [5]: 135). Therefore, al-Jufri distinguished religion and religiosity. Humanity, for him, is above religiosity, not religion.

Abstract

Sebagai negara yang memiliki sumber daya alam yang sangat melimpah Indonesia mempunyai modal yang sangat kuat untuk menyokong perekonomian negara dalam berbagai bentuk usaha. Dalam kegiatan ini diberikan pelatihan tentang pemanfaatan limbah bonggol kayu menjadi tanaman hias artificial pada kader IPNU dan IPPNU Kota Metro. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan pelatihan kepada kader IPNU dan IPPNU Kota Metro dalam pembuatan tanaman hias dari limbah bonggol kayu. Program pengabdian ini menggunakan pendekatan ABCD (Assed Based Communities Development), metode ini memfokuskan pada pemanfaatan aset dan potensi yang ada di sekitar lingkungan masyarakat. Langkah-langkah dalam menggunakan metode ini adalah: Discovery (menemukan), Dream (impian), Design (merancang), Define (menentukan), dan Destiny (melakukan). Hasil yang didapatkan dari pengabdian ini adalah adanya nilai guna pada limbah bonggol kayu yang bernilai ekonomis dan bisa menciptakan kemandirian, yaitu limbah bonggol kayu dapat digunakan sebagai media dalam pembuatan tanaman hias artificial.

Abstract

The study of classical Islamic texts (kitab kuning) has become a mandatory part of the curriculum in madrasahs. Students are expected to learn these texts to gain a deeper understanding of Islamic knowledge and to facilitate their religious activities. This research aims to describe the process of teaching kitab kuning in madrasahs, the supporting and inhibiting factors in this learning, and efforts to enhance student motivation. The methodology used is qualitative descriptive research through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings reveal that the learning process in both madrasahs follows a similar curriculum and method, despite slight differences in implementation. Supporting factors include texts with diacritics and translations, as well as teachers’ mastery of the material, while challenges include limited time and student attendance. To enhance motivation, various efforts have been implemented, such as integrating technology with traditional learning, using digital media, interactive teaching methods, group discussions, and contextualizing the curriculum. Ultimately, learning kitab kuning in these madrasahs serves as a foundational step for students wishing to explore Islamic religious knowledge comprehensively in pesantren and other Islamic study centers

Abstract

Current technology affects all aspects of human life, especially a person's behavior. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of using the religious Tiktok application on student learning behavior at SMA Serba Bakti Suryalaya Tasikmalaya. The research method used is a descriptive method with a quantitative approach. Sampling used a purposive sampling technique. Data collection techniques using observation, questionnaires and documentation. Based on the results of the study conducted, the influence of the use of the TikTok application on the learning behavior of SMA Serba Bakti Suryalaya students is 45.5%. And the remaining 54.5% is influenced by other variables outside this study, including internal factors such as physical condition, intelligence, talent and interests of students and external factors such as the student's environment. This study is also proven by testing the hypothesis with the t test, and produces a calculated t value of 4.832> t table 2.048 So it can be concluded that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted which means "there is a positive and significant influence of the use of the Tiktok application (X) on the learning behavior of SMA Serba Bakti students Tasikmalaya (Y).

Abstract

This article examines the dilemma surrounding the use of “empty columns” in Indonesia’s local elections (Pilkada). Empty columns were introduced during the 2017 simultaneous regional elections in response to the rising number of uncontested races, where only a single candidate pair appeared on the ballot. Such races have increased in each electoral cycle, with 25 single-candidate contests occurring in 2020. Although empty columns were designed to preserve democratic contestation by ensuring voters have at least two options, the regulatory and political framework governing them remains fragile. This study aims to explain why empty columns have become a dilemma within contemporary electoral political discourse. This research employs a qualitative methodology with an exploratory analytical approach, drawing on empirical patterns identified through an extensive review of relevant literature. The findings indicate that the empty column represents a fundamentally contradictory mechanism: while it is formally intended to sustain competition, it lacks the political infrastructure necessary for effective contestation and thus functions as a nominal rather than substantive electoral alternative. As a result, empty columns are structurally disadvantaged and struggle to counterbalance the dominance of single-candidate pairs, ultimately undermining their intended role in strengthening democratic practice.
