Abstract

Competence plays an important role in determining the quality of an employee's work and their understanding of their field of work. A professional must have academic qualifications and abilities that are appropriate to their field of work in order to make an optimal contribution to the organization. Competence is also a measure of individual behavior related to excellent performance at work. In the face of increasingly fierce competition, organizations need quality human resources as a key factor for success. Human resources with high competencies will support the smooth implementation of tasks and the achievement of organizational goals. Conversely, if the quality of human resources is low, the overall performance of the organization will decline. This study aims to examine the influence of competencies and career development on employee performance in the Protocol and Communication Division of the South Lampung Regency. Involving 53 respondents and using quantitative analysis methods through the SPSS program, the results showed that competence had a positive effect on performance with a contribution of 69.3%, while career development had a positive effect of 74.9%. Simultaneously, both variables had a positive effect on employee performance of 80.7%, while the remaining 19.3% was influenced by other factors outside the scope of this study.

Abstract

Motivasi kerja pegawai merupakan faktor krusial dalam menentukan kualitas kinerja serta efektivitas organisasi, khususnya dalam lingkungan pemerintahan daerah. Namun, masih terdapat berbagai kendala di lapangan yang menghambat optimalisasi kinerja pegawai, seperti yang terjadi di lingkungan Sekretariat Daerah Provinsi Lampung. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh Motivasi kerja terhadap kinerja pegawai Sekrtariat Daerah Provinsi Lampung terhadap 45 orang responden. Penelitian ini menerapkan pendekatan kuantitatif deskriptif yang dilaksanakan di Kantor Sekretariat Daerah Provinsi Lampung. Seluruh populasi yang terdiri dari 45 pegawai dijadikan sampel penelitian menggunakan teknik total sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui angket tertutup dengan skala Likert, dan dianalisis menggunakan uji regresi linear sederhana, uji-t, serta uji koefisien determinasi. Temuan penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa motivasi kerja berpengaruh secara positif dan signifikan terhadap kinerja pegawai di lingkungan Sekretariat Daerah Provinsi Lampung. Nilai koefisien determinasi menunjukkan bahwa sebesar 94 persen variasi kinerja pegawai dapat dijelaskan oleh motivasi kerja. Sementara itu, sebesar 6 persen sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor-faktor lain yang tidak menjadi fokus dalam penelitian ini. Oleh karena itu, dapat disimpulkan bahwa motivasi kerja memainkan peran yang signifikan dalam meningkatkan kinerja pegawai di lingkungan Sekretariat Daerah Provinsi Lampung.

Abstract

Organizations always make efforts to improve the performance of employees in order to realize the vision and mission of the organization. This study aims to determine the effect of training education and work environment on employee performance at the West Lampung Regency Library and Archives Office. The type of research used in this study is a quantitative research model. This study used 31 research respondents. There are three variables in this study. Based on the results of data analysis, the answers to the hypotheses are as follows; there is an influence of the training education variable (X1) on the employee performance variable (Y), with an influence level (R-square) of 35.4%. There is an influence of work environment variables (X2) on employee performance variables (Y), with an influence level of 45.6%. There is an influence of the training education variable (X1) and the work environment variable (X2) jointly on the employee performance variable (Y), with an influence level of 47.3%.
