Abstract

This study is a classroom action research that aims to improve mathematics learning outcomes. The research was conducted at SMPN 8 Denpasar, which is located on Jl. Meduri No. 2, Sumerta Village, East Denpasar District, Denpasar City, Bali. The research subjects were 40 class VIII-A students of SMPN 8 Denpasar semester 2 of the 2022/2023 academic year. The object of research is the mathematics learning outcames. Data on learning outcomes were collected using tests, and analyzed descriptively qualitatively. Criteria for the success of the research: (a) the average value of class is at least to classical completeness criteria of 70 and (b) classical completeness of at least 85%. The results showed that in the first cycle the average value of class was 73.70 with classical completeness 52.50%; in cycle II the average value of class was 81.30 with classical completeness of 87.50%. Thus, it can be concluded that the Mind Mapping method is able to improve the mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII-A students of SMPN 8 Denpasar semester 2 of the 2022/2023 academic year in 2 cycles.

Abstract

The aim of this research was to improve mathematics learning outcomes of class VIII A students at SMPN 14 Denpasar through the application of discovery learning with process differentiation. This type of research was classroom action research with two cycles. The research subjects were 42 students. Student’s mathematics learning outcomes data were obtained using mathematics learning outcomes tests. The collected data was analysed descriptively. The results showed that the percentage of students with mathematics learning outcomes in the complete category increased in each cycle. The success criteria were that the average student mathematics learning outcome score in each cycle increased, where the average student mathematics learning outcome was at least 80 and student’s classical learning completeness was at least 75%. Subsequently, the improvement results from each cycle could be said optimal. It could be conluded that the application of the discovery learning model with process differentiation could improve junior high school students' mathematics learning outcomes.

Abstract

Peserta didik cenderung menghafal rumus dan kurang aktif dalam aktivitas yang menyebabkan kemampuan berpikir kritis peserta didik kurang terlatih. Proses pembelajaran ini juga tidak memberikan kesempatan peserta didik untuk mengkonstruksi pengetahuannya sendiri dan membatasi ruang peserta didik dalam menyampaikan pemikirannya. Hal ini berpengaruh pada saat guru memberikan soal dengan level yang lebih tinggi, peserta didik tidak dapat mengerjakannya dengan baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika melalui implementasi model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E. Jenis penelitian merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta didik kelas XI yang terdiri dari 46 orang. Data kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika dikumpulkan dengan tes tertulis. Data penelitian dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tercapai peningkatan rata-rata skor kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika dalam kategori baik dan sangat baik pada refleksi awal hanya 21,70%, pada siklus I meningkat menjadi 52,20%, dan pada siklus II meningkat menjadi 84,80%. Kesimpulan model pembelajaran Learning Cycle 5E mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika peserta didik. Implikasi penelitian ini diharapkan peserta didik dilibatkan secara aktif dalam proses pembelajaran dan dalam kegiatannya mengakomodasi kemampuan berpikir tingkat tinggi yang meliputi berpikir kritis dan berpikir kreatif.

Abstract

Mathematics is one of the essential subjects for vocational students because it is very dominant in developing science and technology. This study aims to produce vocational-based mathematics teaching materials using smartphones that meet the valid, practical, and effective prerequisites. The progressing model used in the test is ADDIE. The validity of the featured material was surveyed by three materials specialists and three media specialists using an assessment and analyzed using the Gregory arrangement. The results of the assessment obtained that the material displayed meets practical needs. The ease of use perspective was assessed by giving a poll to research researchers using the Client Experience Survey (UEQ) and a survey to students using the Framework Convenience Scale (SUS) test. The assessment results based on the Client Experience Poll (UEQ) obtained a normal value of 89.56 with a good standard. As a consequence of the Ease of Use Framework assessment, it was found that normal 89.44 was recognized and within the range of generally very good. The effectiveness of teaching materials is assessed to provide a trial of learning outcomes to students and dissected based on traditional culmination values. Traditional fulfillment awards earned 95%. The advantages of the teaching materials are photos, test questions, and conversational materials according to practice for vocational students, which students can use for independent and group study, both within and outside the organization. Given these results, it can be very well concluded that the vocational-based mathematics learning materials using smartphones have fulfilled the valid, practical, and effective components to be utilized during learning.

Abstract

Advances in information technology bring changes in various areas of life. The changes that occur should be addressed wisely so that advances in information technology positively impact human life. The world community is currently facing a new era that is more advanced, faster, information that is increasingly difficult to filter, and increasingly open competition. The low ability of high/vocational school mathematics teachers to develop HOTS assessments is a serious problem that must be immediately found a solution to be able to increase student competitiveness in the 21st century. This study aims to analyze the relationship between divergent thinking and the ability of teachers to develop HOTS assessments, the relationship between digital literacy and teachers' abilities to develop HOTS assessments, and the relationship between divergent thinking and digital literacy with teachers' abilities to develop HOTS assessments. This research is a quantitative non-causal survey method. The research design used a correlational regression model. The study population was high school/vocational high school mathematics teachers in Bali, NTB, and NTT. The sample selection used the cluster random sampling technique. Research data were collected using a questionnaire. Data were analyzed using multiple linear regression assisted by SPSS 23.0 for Windows. The results show a significant positive relationship between divergent thinking and the ability of teachers to develop HOTS assessments. There is a significant positive relationship between digital literacy and teachers' abilities to develop HOTS assessments. There is a significant positive relationship between divergent thinking and digital literacy and the teacher's ability to develop a HOTS assessment.

Abstract

Sharing behavior is a key in altruism that serves as a strategy to strengthen empathy and solidarity within the community (Guttman et al., 2016). This study investigates the relationship between sharing behavior and altruism, and its effects on the development of empathy in the community. The literature review shows that the act of sharing not only strengthens social relationships but also increases understanding between individuals (Chiu et al., 2006). When individuals engage in sharing, they tend to be more caring towards others, and create a more cooperative environment (Schor & Fitzmaurice, 2015). Sharing behavior also plays a role in strengthening group solidarity, building trust and support among community members. Studies show that communities with a strong culture of sharing are better able to face various social and economic challenges (Carleton & Hsiang, 2016). However, barriers such as stigma and mistrust can hinder participation in sharing. Therefore, it is important to design interventions that can overcome these barriers and raise awareness of the importance of sharing as a form of altruism. Thus, it can be said that sharing behavior has an important role in building empathy and solidarity, and requires collaboration from various sectors to create a more inclusive and empathetic society (Tomasello et al., 2005)

Abstract

Desa Sibetan di Kabupaten Karangasem, Bali, merupakan sentra produksi salak gula pasir dengan potensi besar sebagai komoditas unggulan daerah. Namun, petani masih menghadapi tantangan berupa produktivitas yang rendah, serangan hama, keterbatasan sarana pascapanen, serta pemasaran yang masih bergantung pada pengepul. Program pengabdian ini bertujuan mengoptimalkan potensi Kelompok Tani Sarining Abian Salak melalui penerapan teknologi ramah lingkungan dan penguatan strategi pemasaran digital. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif dengan tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan, pendampingan, implementasi inovasi produksi dan pascapanen, serta evaluasi berkelanjutan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan produksi salak melalui penggunaan bibit unggul, pupuk organik, dan pestisida nabati, serta perbaikan kualitas pascapanen dengan pemanfaatan showcase chiller dan kemasan premium. Digitalisasi pemasaran melalui media sosial dan e-commerce turut memperluas jangkauan pasar dan meningkatkan pendapatan petani. Kontribusi program ini tidak hanya pada peningkatan kesejahteraan petani, tetapi juga pada penguatan literasi digital, kemandirian ekonomi, dan pemanfaatan kearifan lokal sebagai sumber belajar kontekstual dalam bidang pendidikan, khususnya pendidikan biologi dan kewirausahaan.

Abstract

Artificial Intelligence (AI) has recently gained prominence in higher education, particularly in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) disciplines, offering transformative potential for learning and innovation. However, students’ adoption of AI tools is influenced by multiple psychological and contextual factors. This study aims to examine the effects of performance expectancy, effort expectancy, and social influence on students’ behavioral intentions to integrate AI into STEM education. A quantitative research design was employed, involving 203 undergraduate students from the University of Jambi and Universitas PGRI Mahadewa Indonesia. Data were analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) through SmartPLS 3.3 to identify direct and mediating relationships among variables. The findings revealed that performance expectancy significantly influenced students’ behavioral intentions, indicating that perceived usefulness of AI outweighs ease of use in determining adoption. Effort expectancy also had a substantial effect and mediated the relationship between performance expectancy and behavioral intentions, while social influence showed no significant impact. These results highlight that students’ engagement with AI in STEM learning is driven more by perceived academic and functional benefits than by peer or social reinforcement. The novelty of this study lies in its integration of the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT) framework with the STEM education context in developing countries, providing new empirical insights into AI adoption behavior. The study recommends designing AI-supported learning environments that emphasize practical benefits, user-friendly interfaces, and pedagogical integration to enhance students’ learning outcomes and technological readiness.

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the extent to which the learning outcomes of class VIII G students of SMP Negeri 14 Denpasar had improved through the Jigsaw Type Cooperative learning method in learning mathematics regarding the Pythagorean Theorem. This research was classroom action research with the research subject being class VIII G of SMP Negeri 14 Denpasar Semester 1 in the academic year 2023/2024. Data on student learning outcomes was collected using written tests in the form of multiple choices. The result of this research showed that the first increase occurred in cycle I, 22 of the 42 students who took the test completed the test with a percentage of 52.4%. In cycle II, there was an increase in students who completed the test by 34 students out of 42 students who took the test with a percentage of 81%. It could be concluded that there was an increase in student learning outcomes in learning mathematics regarding the Pythagorean Theorem by applying the Jigsaw Type Cooperative learning method.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan hasil belajar matematika siswa melalui penerapan model problem-based learning berdiferensiasi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang telah dilaksanakan dalam dua siklus. Subjek dari penelitian ini ialah siswa kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 8 Denpasar sebanyak 39 siswa pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Data hasil belajar matematika siswa dikumpulkan menggunakan tes uraian. Data yang dikumpulkan dianalisis secara deskriptif kualitatif. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai hasil belajar matematika siswa meningkat dari refleksi awal ke siklus I dan siklus II. Dengan Kriteria Ketuntasan Minimum sebesar 75, pada refleksi awal hasil belajar siswa masih berada pada kategori tidak tuntas, yaitu sebesar 34,23. Kemudian pada siklus I rata-rata nilai hasil belajar siswa sebesar 76,69 yang berada pada kriteria tuntas. Pada siklus II diperoleh rata-rata nilai sebesar 84,23 yang sudah berada pada kategori tuntas. Persentase ketuntasan belajar juga meningkat dari siklus I sebanyak 30 siswa (76,92%) menjadi 36 siswa (92,31%) pada siklus II. Peningkatan yang terjadi menunjukkan bahwa model problem-based learning berdiferensiasi dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika siswa.
