Abstract

The aim of this study was to describe the use of video to help EFL learners in writing narrative text and the EFL learners’ perception in using video for teaching narrative text. The participants of this study were first grade students of Teknik Komputer Jaringan (TKJ) at SMK Budi Luhur Tebo. The total number of the participant was 27 students consisted of 14 boys and 13 girls. A Classroom Action Research consisted of three meetings with three cycle was applied in this present study. The material given to the students was narrative text. At the first meeting of each cycle, the teacher explained the lesson. At the second meeting, the teacher gave treatment by implementing some activities. First of all the students were divided into several groups, then the teacher run a drama video, asked students to watch the video and discussed the contents of the video until they understand generic structures of the story. Finally, each group presented the result of their group discussion in front of the class. At the third meeting, the teacher gave an assignment. To collect the data, the researcher used observation, FGD (Focus Group Discussion), field note, and lesson review. The finding showed that teaching writing through video improved students’ writing skill. The video was helpful to improve their understanding. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of video to help EFL learners in writing narrative text and the EFL learners’ perception in using video for teaching narrative text at SMK Budi Luhur Tebo were good and helpful.

Abstract

Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana implementasi kebijakan Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) melalui sistem zonasi untuk pemerataan kualitas pendidikan di SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo, untuk mengetahui hambatan dan upaya yang dilakukan dalam implementasi kebijakan Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) melalui sistem zonasi untuk pemerataan kualitas pendidikan di SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif dengan populasi yaitu kepala dan wakil kepala sekolah, guru dan staff SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo, ketua komite beserta anggota wali murid, dan peserta didik SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo. Sampel yang diambil dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 13 (tiga belas) orang dengan teknik pengambilan sampel purposive sampling menentukan subjek/objek sesuai tujuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi kebijakan Penerimaan Peserta Didik Baru (PPDB) melalui sistem zonasi untuk pemerataan kualitas pendidikan di SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo sudah diterapkan sesuai dengan PERMENDIKBUD Nomor 14 Tahun 2018 dan PERBUP Bungo Nomor 35 Tahun 2018, dalam hambatan yang dilihat dari 4 variabel menurut Smith terdapat 3 variabel yang masih mengalami hambatan yaitu pada kelompok sasaran, badan pelaksana, dan faktor lingkungan. Upaya yang dilakukan yaitu menyampaikan laporan ke Dinas Pendidikan Bungo, meningkatkan Sumber Daya Manusia (SDM) dan sarana komputer, serta meningkatkan prestasi sekolah.

Abstract

Kepala sekolah merupakan faktor yang sangat berpengaruh terhadap kinerja guru.?Untuk menjamin agar para guru dapat bekerja sesuai rencana dan tujuan?yang?diharapkan, maka perlu pengawasan dan pembinaan secara berkesinambungan?dari kepala sekolah.?Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana kinerja guru dan bagaimana upaya kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bungo.Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, wakil kepala sekolah, guru, siswa, dan ketua komite SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bungo. Sampel yang digunakan sebanyak 19 orang dengan teknik purposive sampling. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Data dianalisa dengan pengolahan data, menyajikan data dan menarik kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian?menunjukkan bahwa?kepala sekolah sudah melakukan upaya dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru di SMP Negeri 2 Muara Bungo dengan menilai kinerja guru terhadap pelaksanaan beban kerja guru sesuai dengan Peraturan Menteri Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Nomor 15 Tahun 2018. Namun masih terdapat hambatan kepala sekolah dalam meningkatkan kinerja guru?yaitu?guru?terlambat dalam menyelesaikan perencanaan pembelajaran,?kepala sekolah sulit memantau pembelajaran,?media pembelajaran tidak tersusun?dengan baik,?dan??guru?terlambat dalam melaporkan nilai.

Abstract

Gas LPG 3 Kg merupakan produk PSO perrtamina yang ditujukan untuk masyarakat miskin dan UKM. Dalam penjualannya, Pertamina menetapkan sistem distribusi dari agen hingga konsumen akhir dengan menetapkan harga eceran tertinggi (HET). Namun kenyataannya konsumen tidak mendapatkan harga sesuai HET yang ditentukan Pertamina.Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk melihat implementasi penyediaan, pendistribusian, dan harga gas LPG 3 kg di Kecamatan Pasar Muara Bungo. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dimana memperoleh data yang diperoleh dari informan dan observasi lapangan. Kemudian data yang diperoleh dikumpulkan dan dianalisis untuk mendapatkan hasil yang diinginkan. Teknik analisis data menggunakan model implementasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi kebijakan pengadaan dan pendistribusian LPG 3 Kg di Kecamatan Pasar Muara Bungo belum berjalan dengan baik. Dikarenakan kebijakan idealisasi kebijakan penyediaan dan distribusi yang dilaksanakan dalam bentuk LPG 3Kg pada tingkat regulasi di tingkat Peraturan Pemerintah dan Peraturan Menteri sudah tepat, namun di tingkat kabupaten penyelenggaraan program pengawasan dan tim pengendali bertekad untuk tidak berjalan dengan baik. Kelompok sasaran tersebut sejalan dengan kebijakan penyediaan dan penyaluran LPG 3 Kg untuk rumah tangga berpenghasilan rendah dan UKM, namun masyarakat berpenghasilan tinggi juga menggunakan gas LPG 3 Kg. Organisasi pelaksana kelompok distribusi yaitu pemerintah menunjuk PT.Pertamina, kemudian mendistribusikannya kepada instansi penyalur untuk mendistribusikan LPG 3 Kg ke SPPBE / SPBE yang diteruskan ke agen dan sub penyalur kepada masyarakat. Faktor lingkungan melalui aspek budaya, sosial, ekonomi menunjukkan masih adanya masyarakat yang kurang memahami efisiensi biaya penggunaan gas LPG dibandingkan dengan menggunakan kayu atau minyak tanah berbayar.

Abstract

The problem faced in education was the weak learning process. The problem that was often found when the learning process in class was that students do not have an interest in English subjects. The purpose of this study was to find out how the learning strategies of the English teacher in increasing students' interest in learning and to find out the factors that influence students' interest in learning. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative method. The population in this study was English teacher in class VII.A SMP N 22 Tebo Jambi and students who were in the class. Data collection techniques used by researchers were observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study were English teacher’s learning strategies in increasing students’ interest in learning in the class have not been effective. It was showed by the quality of student learning in class VII.A has difficulty in understanding the explanation of the material by the teacher. The suitability of the learning level has not been created, there was no incentive given to the students, and a short time in doing the work. Then, the factors that influence students’ interest in learning were internal, external, and learning approaches.

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to determine the role, constraints, and efforts of the Administration MTs N 4 Bungo in managing of archives. The type of research used was descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The population in this research were employees at the MTs N 4 Bungo.  The unit of analysis consists of 6 people with a purposive sampling technique. The collection of research data was carried out by means of field studies in the form of interviews, observation, and documentation. Based on the results of research at MTsN 4 Bungo, the management of archives carried out at Madrasahs is still untidy and greatly affects the retrieval of archives. Archives are stored around the workspace, some are even on tables and on the floor because they don't have file shelves, the room is too cramped, giving the impression that the archives are not well maintained. Archive storage facilities are lacking, there are still several facilities such as archive cupboards that have not been organized due to limited space. Some of the obstacles faced include problems in maintaining archives and the lack of archive storage facilities. Efforts are being made to maintain, arrange, and maximize infrastructure facilities to support archive storage

Abstract

Decentralization and school-based management (SBM) have been widely adopted in Indonesia to enhance the quality and efficiency of education. This study investigates the implementation of SBM in public and private schools in Jambi Province, Indonesia, and explores its effects on school autonomy, teacher participation in decision-making, and student achievement. A mixed-methods approach was employed. Quantitative data were collected from 300 teachers and 600 students in 15 public and 15 private schools in Jambi Province using questionnaires and achievement tests. Qualitative data were gathered through semi-structured interviews with 30 school principals and 30 school committee members. Private schools demonstrated significantly higher levels of school autonomy and teacher participation in decision-making compared to public schools. However, no significant difference was found in student achievement between the two types of schools. Qualitative data provided insights into the challenges and opportunities associated with SBM implementation in both public and private schools. In conclusion, this study highlights the importance of contextual factors in shaping the implementation and outcomes of SBM. While private schools appear to have embraced SBM more effectively in terms of autonomy and participation, the impact on student achievement requires further investigation. The findings have implications for policymakers and school leaders seeking to enhance the effectiveness of SBM in Indonesia.

Abstract

Micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) are vital to the Indonesian economy, especially in rural areas like Dharmasraya. This community service project aimed to empower MSMEs by building their entrepreneurial capacity through publicly funded training programs. Using a participatory action research approach, a needs assessment was conducted with 100 MSME owners in Dharmasraya to identify challenges and training needs. Based on the findings, workshops and mentoring sessions were designed and delivered, focusing on financial literacy, marketing strategies, digital literacy, and business plan development. The training program significantly improved participants' understanding of key business concepts, including financial management, marketing, and digital tools. Participants also showed increased confidence in managing and growing their businesses. The program fostered a sense of community and peer learning among MSME owners. In conclusion, publicly funded training programs are crucial for building entrepreneurial capacity and empowering MSMEs in Dharmasraya. This initiative highlights the effectiveness of participatory approaches in addressing community needs and fostering sustainable economic development.

Abstract

The importance of the headmaster’s role in supervising learning outcomes in order to see and assess and help teachers so that all activities that have been programmed can run effectively and efficiently in accordance with what has been planned. The problems in this study are that the teacher is late in entering the classroom, the teacher has not maximized the Learning Implementation Plan (RPP), the teacher has not provided the right teaching method to students, and the teacher does not take advantage of school facilities such as projectors, because at this time teachers are required to master technology. The aim of this study was to determine the effectiveness, of headmaster supervision in the learning process at SMP Negeri 6 Muara Bungo. The method in this study was a descriptive method with a qualitative approach. The population in this study were teachers and students at SMP Negeri 6 Muara Bungo. Meanwhile, the sample in this study amounted to 10 people. The results of this study indicated that the effectiveness of headmaster supervision in the learning process at SMP Negeri 6 Muara Bungo was effective in improving teacher professionalism used one of the indicators of measuring effectiveness, namely the objective approach. It showed that the impact of teachers both in terms of teaching methods and using media in learning as a support. Based on the instrument / observation sheet from the principal to see and assess the learning process carried out by the teacher in the classroom starting from preliminary activities, core activities, and closing activities.

Abstract

This research aims to understand how teachers implement classroom management principles in the teaching and learning process at SMKN 10 Bungo and why teachers implement these principles in their students' teaching and learning processes. practice. This type of research is qualitative research, where the data source is the result of classroom observations and interviews. The subjects of this research were three English teachers in grades ten, eleven and twelve. Collected data are grouped according to the research objective, then described and analyzed to get actual data. Research results show that not all English teachers at SMKN 10 Bungo fully apply the principles of classroom management in the teaching and learning process at 3 stages before the activity, during the activity and after the activity. Almost all classroom management principles are implemented during operation. Before and after the activity, teachers only followed three principles of classroom management: enthusiasm, enthusiasm, emphasizing positive things and promoting self-discipline. Research results also find out the reasons why teachers apply classroom management principles, specifically to increase student motivation and improve learning outcomes. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that classroom management principles have not been fully implemented by English teachers at SMKN 10 Bungo. Therefore, English teachers need to improve their knowledge of classroom management principles in teaching English. In the hope, this research can make a useful contribution to English teachers in education.
