Abstract

Language is the basic skills are needed for real communication among people. By using language, we will able to express our ideas and feeling. In Indonesia, English language is learned by students as a foreign language. As know, English vocabulary has become an important part in the teaching-learning process in the classroom. It is based on source to learn English therefore we must have good English and enough vocabulary. Without that we will not be able to use English better in our life and we can’t master English conversation with other people. The researcher interests to appoint this problem by title: Teacher’s Effort to Enrich Students’ Vocabulary in Teaching English at Second Grade of Asas Islamiyah Jambi. The method had used in this research was qualitative. The population in this research are the students of Asas Islamiyah Jambi. The samples were 30 students of the second grade. In this research, the instrument used to collected the data are observation, interview with English teachers and documentation. The results of the research are the application of teaching vocabulary by using word category method can be achieved by some students in second grade at Islamic Junior High School Asas Islamiyah Jambi. The teaching vocabulary by using word category at Islamic Junior High School Asas Islamiyah Jambi can make the students fun ad active and also make the students to be able to remember the vocabulary easily.

Abstract

Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui adakah Pengaruh Kualitas Produk Kosmetik Batrisyia Terhadap Loyalitas Konsumen pada Queen Batrisyia Muara Bungo. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini yaitu metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini bersifat tidak terbatas dan populasi yang digunakan yaitu seluruh konsumen Queen Batrisyia yang berada di Muara Bungo. Dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 60 orang. Analisis data menggunakan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil kuesioner tersebut diuji dengan menggunakan program SPSS Versi 20. Berdasarkan hasil uji analisis regresi linear sederhana didapatkan a = Nilai konstanta sebesar 9,815 menunjukkan bahwa jika kualitas produk atau X bernilai konstan atau 0, maka Loyalitas Konsumen sama dengan 9,815. b = Nilai koefisien 0,160 menunjukkan bahwa setiap terjadi peningkatan 1% pada kualitas produk, akan mendorong Loyalitas Konsumen sebesar 0,160. Hasil uji secara parsial menunjukkan bahwa variabel Kualitas Produk (X) terhadap variabel Loyalitas Konsumen (Y) terdapat pengaruh secara signifikan. Berdasarkan uji koefisien determinasi (R2) terdapat pengaruh signifikan antara variabel Kualitas Produk (X) terhadap variabel Loyalitas Konsumen (Y) dengan kontribusi pengaruh sebesar 26,6%.

Abstract

English is a foreign language in Indonesia, it is taught from Junior High School to University. One important thing of teaching English is vocabulary. If the students could not master the vocabulary of English given in Junior High School, it possible happens that they will get some difficulties in mastering it in Senior High School. A common stereotype of people about vocabulary is a long list of words from a textbook, a list of spelling words, or even various glossaries that are studied for examination. This situation encourages many practitioners to use a variety of techniques to teach vocabulary. Usually, flash cards were the favorite technique in mind. The researcher  interests to appoint this problem by title: The Effectiveness of Flash Cards at Teaching Media on Vocabulary Building At SMKS Kesehatan Keluarga Bunda Jambi In The 2019/2020 Academic Year. The method had used in this research was descriptive quantitative. The population of this research was the students of SMKS Kesehatan Keluarga Bunda Jambi.The samples were 36 students of the first years. Consist of 16 male and 20 female. In this research, the instrument used to collectedthe data are observation, interview, with English teachers and documentation. The score r x y is 0,580, is bigger than score in level 5%=0,325 and 1%=0,418. It can be described as 0,3250,5800,814 in other word, there is significant effect by using flash cards on the student’s vocabulary building at SMSK Kesehatan Keluarga Bunda Jambi.

Abstract

The problem faced in education was the weak learning process. The problem that was often found when the learning process in class was that students do not have an interest in English subjects. The purpose of this study was to find out how the learning strategies of the English teacher in increasing students' interest in learning and to find out the factors that influence students' interest in learning. The method used in this study was descriptive qualitative method. The population in this study was English teacher in class VII.A SMP N 22 Tebo Jambi and students who were in the class. Data collection techniques used by researchers were observation, interviews, and documentation. The result of this study were English teacher’s learning strategies in increasing students’ interest in learning in the class have not been effective. It was showed by the quality of student learning in class VII.A has difficulty in understanding the explanation of the material by the teacher. The suitability of the learning level has not been created, there was no incentive given to the students, and a short time in doing the work. Then, the factors that influence students’ interest in learning were internal, external, and learning approaches.

Abstract

TThis research was motivated by the existence of non-metallic mineral and rocks that did not have a mining permit, there was no coordination with the agency in order to get data about the mining location and taxpayers did payment not in actual conditions. The aim of this research was to know the effectiveness of collecting taxes on non-metallic mineral and rocks in increasing Local Origi-nal Income (PAD) by the Regional Tax and Retribution Management Agency (BPPRD) of Bungo Regency and the obstacles faced in collecting this taxes. The method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. The population in this research were all employees and taxpayers of non-metallic minerals and rocks with total sample were 14 by using purposive sampling technique. The data collection techniques were observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of this research showed that the collection of taxes on non-metallic minerals and rocks in increasing the PAD of Bungo Regency by BPPRD had not been effective, it was showed by the contribution of revenue non-metallic minerals and rocks to PAD for the last 5 years on average 1.12%. That was disproportionate to the potential tax on non-metallic minerals and rocks that have not been properly excavated due to various obstacles, namely inadequate facilities and infrastructure, lim-ited resources, and low awareness of taxpayers.

Abstract

This study deals with a classroom action research investigating teaching descriptive writing through peer feedback in EFL classroom at one of Islamic Senior High School in Jambi. Eleven male students were involved in this research. By doing field note, observation checklist, writing task, and documentation data were collected and analyzed descriptively. The findings indicated that peer feedback could improve students’ descriptive writing seeing that the students were able to work collaboratively with the peer in giving either suggestion or advise during the discussion. As a result, applying peer feedback while teaching descriptive writing did not only provide students basic material for editing or revising, but also stimulate their imaginative power enabling them to have a concept in their mind about what they are going to write. Implications from this research evidently suggest that teachers should have a variety of teaching strategy in teaching English as a Foreign Language.

Abstract

Learning is a conscious and planned effort to create learning atmosphere. In order student become good student, the learning process was carried out interactively. When the learning was carried out, the students only received the material provided by the teacher. The aim of this research was to know the teacher's efforts to improve students’ activity and learning outcomes through Classroom Meeting at SMK Budi Luhur. The method used Classrom Action Research conducted in class X TKJ with 30 students. The types data used qualitative and quantitative data. This research was conducted in three cycles consisted of cycle I, II and III which has stages were planning, actions, observing, analyzing and reflecting. The result of this study was using Classroom Meeting could increase students’ activity. It was indicated by the students who pay attention when the teacher presents the subject from 50% in first cycle, 73% in second cycle, 83% in cycle III. Then, when the teacher presents problems increased from 30% in first cycle, 77% in second cycle, 87% in third cycle. Students who dared to pose problems from 3% in first cycle, 17% in second cycle, then 37% in third cycle. Students who dared to express their opinions from 17% in first cycle, 53% in second cycle, then 73% in third cycle. Students who dare to give comments from 17% in first cycle, 50% in second cycle, then 87% in third cycle. Students who participated in making conclusions from 17% in first cycle, 50% in second cycle, then 80% in third cycle. Students who actively answered questions from 17% in first cycle, 60% in second cycle, then increased 87% in third cycle. The use of Classroom Meeting could improve student learning outcomes. It was indicated by 5.27 in cycle 1, and 6.54 in cycle II and 7.67 in cycle III.

Abstract

Language is the basic skills are needed for real communication among people. Vocabulary and listening is one of the problems confronted by English language learners . SMKS Kesehatan Keluarga Bunda Jambi is one of Islamic boarding school that have problem in English lesson. The students have low motivation for study English, especially in vocabulary and listening. Based on explanation above, it is interested to conduct the research with entitled “The Correlation Between Students’ Vocabulary Mastery and Listening Achievement at 10th A Grade of SMKS Keluarga Bunda Jambi. Research design was use correlation research design with quantitative method. The population of the research was all students of 10th grade students’ at SMKS Kesehatan Keluarga Bunda Jambi, Academic Year 2021. The sample in this research was 26 students from Nursing Class and Pharmacy Class. There is no significant correlation of students’ vocabulary mastery and listening achievement at 10th A grade students of SMKS Keluarga Bunda Jambi, Academic Year 2021. It can be proved with the result is 0.670. The correlation is positive and can be categorized as substantial correlation.

Abstract

Standar kompetensi yang dimiliki kepala SMP berbeda-beda sehingga kurangnya pemahaman dan pengetahuan kepala SMP dalam tugas dan fungsinya berdasarkan peraturan menteri pendidikan nasional Nomor 13 Tahun 2007 tentang Kompetensi Kepala Sekolah. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui implementasi standar kompetensi kepala SMP dan untuk mengetahui hambatan yang dihadapi oleh Dinas Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan dalam mengimplementasikan peraturan ini serta untuk mengetahui upaya dalam mengatasi hambatan tersebut. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini yaitu kepala dinas, pengawas dan kepala SMP. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis melalui reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa implementasi standar kompetensi kepala SMP di Kabupaten Bungo sudah memenuhi standar kualifikasi umum 100 %, sedangkan untuk standar kualifikasi khusus sekitar 56%. Hambatan yang terjadi dalam implementasi yaitu kurangnya sosialisasi mengenai standar kompetensi kepala SMP, lambatnya informasi yang disampaikan, minimnya dedikasi dan tingkah oknum yang menghambat jalanya implementasi, dan kurangnya koordinasi antar birokrasi. Upaya yang dilakukan dalam mengatasi hambatan tersebut yaitu memperbanyak sosialisasi mengenai standar kompetensi kepala sekolah, menegur dan membina staff agar tepat waktu dalam menyampaikan informasi, memberikan insentif yang lancar kepada birokrasi, dan birokrasi dituntut agar bekerja sesuai SOP yang telah ada pada pekerjaan tersebut.

Abstract

AbstractThe purpose of this study was to find out how the implementation of the New Student Admissions (PPDB) policy through the zoning system for equal distribution of education quality at SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo, to find out the obstacles and efforts made in implementing the New Student Admissions (PPDB) policy through the system zoning for equal distribution of education quality at SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo. The method used in this study was descriptive method with a qualitative approach with a population, namely the head and vice principal of the school, teachers and staff of SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo, the chairman of the committee and members of the guardians of students, and students of SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo. The sample taken in this study amounted to 13 (thirteen) people with purposive sampling technique to determine the subject / object according to the purpose. The results showed that the implementation of the New Student Admissions (PPDB) policy through the zoning system for equal distribution of education quality at SMP Negeri 9 Muara Bungo has been implemented in accordance with PERMENDIKBUD Number 14 of 2018 and PERBUP Bungo Number 35 of 2018, in terms of obstacles seen from 4 variables. According to Smith, there were 3 variables that are still experiencing obstacles, namely the target group, the implementing agency, and environmental factors. Efforts are being made, namely submitting reports to the Bungo Education Office, improving Human Resources (HR) and computer facilities, and improving school performance
