Abstract

Plastic waste is one of the most significant contributors to waste production in Indonesia, reaching 65.2 million tons per year. Efforts to reduce waste volume are carried out by shredding plastic into smaller sizes to facilitate recycling. This study aims to analyze the production capacity, quality, and efficiency of a rotating blade-based plastic shredding machine and to determine the necessary maintenance to sustain its long-term performance. The method employed is a quantitative approach, which involves recording and analyzing data from machine tests using 10 samples of HDPE and PP plastic. The results indicate that the machine's production capacity for HDPE plastic is 3.43 kg/min, while for PP plastic, it is 1.42 kg/min. The study concludes that the rotating blade-based plastic shredding machine is effective in processing plastic waste, with results varying based on the type of plastic material.

Abstract

The ever-increasing global energy demand necessitates the development of environmentally friendly and sustainable alternative fuels. Biodiesel is a potential solution, mainly when produced from used cooking oil through the transesterification process. This study aims to evaluate the effect of reaction time on the calorific value of biodiesel using the linear regression method. The calorific value was chosen as the primary parameter because it reflects the energy produced by the fuel. The study analyzed experimental data correlating the transesterification reaction time with the biodiesel calorific value. The results showed that the optimal reaction time was 80 minutes, yielding the highest calorific value of 41.35 MJ/kg, exceeding the ASTM D6751 standard. However, the effect of reaction time on calorific value was not statistically significant, with a P-value of 0.67 and a regression coefficient of 0.02. The decrease in calorific value after 80 minutes is likely caused by overreaction, reducing efficiency. The findings indicate that reaction time is not the sole factor influencing biodiesel calorific value. Future research recommendations include incorporating variables such as reaction temperature and raw material molar ratio to enhance model accuracy. This study is expected to provide a foundation for developing high-quality biodiesel that meets international standards.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh kualitas layanan dan kepuasan konsumen terhadap loyalitas konsumen Grab di Kota Lamongan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah survei dengan pengambilan sampel sebanyak 100 responden yang merupakan pengguna layanan Grab. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner dan dianalisis menggunakan regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kualitas layanan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap kepuasan konsumen, yang pada gilirannya juga berpengaruh positif terhadap loyalitas konsumen. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa peningkatan kualitas layanan dapat meningkatkan kepuasan pelanggan, yang kemudian mendorong loyalitas mereka terhadap merek Grab. Penelitian ini memberikan wawasan penting bagi perusahaan dalam merumuskan strategi untuk mempertahankan dan meningkatkan loyalitas pelanggan di tengah persaingan yang ketat di industri transportasi online.

Abstract

Tingginya konsumsi kopi ini turut mendorong keberlanjutan sejumlah produsen kopi lokal yang mampu bersaing di pasar. Stakeholder atau konsumen kopi tersebut dapat diperoleh dari minat beli konsumen yang meningkat dari tahun ke tahun, sehingga perlu strategi penjualan untuk meningkatkan brand image serta kualitas produk. Maka dari itu, tujuan daripada penelitian ini ialah ingin mengetahui pengaruh brand image dalam memediasi produk quality dan service quality terhadap minat beli, yang mana dilakukan studi kasus di Kopi Deplok Bu Asih, Sidomukti, Gresik. Penggunaan metode dalam penelitian yakni menerapkan metode kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian metode korelasional, menggunakan metode Particial Least Square (PLS), diketahui jumlah responden akhir adalah 96 responden. Dapat dilihat dari hasil penelitian ini, diketahui bahwa brand image tidak berpengaruh terhadap minat beli, product quality berpengaruh positif terhadap brand image, product quality berpengaruh positif terhadap minat beli, quality service tidak berpengaruh terhadap brand image, quality service berpengaruh positif terhadap minat beli, product quality tidak berpengaruh terhadap minat beli melalui brand image sebagai variabel intervening dan quality service tidak berpengaruh terhadap minat beli melalui brand image sebagai variabel intervening. Kata Kunci: Brand Image, Product Quality, Quality Service, Minat Beli.

Abstract

This study aims to this study was to examine the effect of polypropylene (PP) plastic and activated carbon (AC) composition in a plastic composite material. The composite material was mixed using an internal mixer at a processing temperature of 220°C and a speed of 50 rpm. The mixture was then molded with dimensions of 100 mm in length, 15 mm in width, and 2,5 mm in thickness. The sample molding was performed using a compression molding method with a pressure of 1500 MPa at 250°C and a holding time of 300 minutes. Subsequently, the samples were cut according to the bending test dimensions following ASTM D790-03 standards, with dimensions of 100 mm x 12.7 mm x 2.5 mm. The test results for the polypropylene-activated carbon composite in the first composition showed a maximum stress point of 36.95 MPa and an elastic modulus of 4.3096 MPa, while the second composition showed a maximum stress point of 34.58 MPa and an elastic modulus of 3.371 MPa. These findings indicate that increasing the activated carbon composition in polypropylene polymer results in a reduction in bending strength.

Abstract

In general, every livestock needs feed in the form of a mixture of livestock feed. The livestock feed fermentation process is currently phenomenal because it provides benefits that are felt by farmers. Maybe many people know the fermentation as a process of making supplement drinks only. It turns out not, the fermentation process can be used as an alternative to making high-quality livestock feed. In addition to being very simple to make, making feed by fermentation also saves time and money, because farmers are no longer busy with herding or grazing. This horizontal mixer machine has a capacity of 100 kg / Batch. In making this machine includes manufacturing processes such as: welding, grinding, drilling, bending, cutting torch or gas cutting, and non-permanent joints, namely nut and bolt joints. The components of the machine are: frame, tube, double screw, axle shaft, bossing, gear box, housing bearing, block bearing, pulley, v-belt, and electric motor. And then assembled and put together into a machine. From the above explanation, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1. Horizontal mixer machine with a tube diameter of 60 cm and a width of 90 cm, is capable of mixing 100 kg/batch of animal feed. 2. Horizontal mixer machine using a double screw produces a more homogeneous mixture compared to using the manual method.

Abstract

Pelatihan peningkatan kualitas produk dalam pengembangan minuman sehat instan berbasis bunga telang di Kecamatan Sugio bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan para pelaku usaha lokal dalam menghasilkan produk minuman sehat yang berkualitas tinggi dan bernilai tambah. Bunga telang, yang dikenal memiliki manfaat kesehatan yaitu membantu mencegah kerusakan sel dan mengurangi risiko penyakit kronis dipilih sebagai bahan utama untuk pengembangan produk minuman instan yang praktis dan sehat. Melalui pelatihan ini, para peserta dibekali dengan pengetahuan tentang teknik pengolahan, pengemasan, dan standar kualitas produk yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan pasar. Pendekatan partisipatif digunakan untuk memastikan bahwa setiap peserta mampu menerapkan metode yang diajarkan dalam proses produksi mereka. Hasil dari pelatihan ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman peserta tentang pengolahan produk yang lebih efisien dan inovatif, serta kesadaran akan pentingnya menjaga standar mutu. Setelah pelatihan, peserta menunjukkan peningkatan keterampilan dalam proses produksi, mulai dari pemilihan bahan baku bunga telang berkualitas, proses pengeringan, penggilingan, hingga pengemasan yang higienis. Survei evaluasi menunjukkan bahwa 85% peserta mampu mengikuti setiap tahap dengan baik, sementara 90% dari mereka mampu memproduksi produk akhir yang sesuai standar. Pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat mendukung pengembangan usaha lokal dan meningkatkan daya saing produk minuman sehat instan di pasar yang lebih luas.

Abstract

The condenser is one of the main components in a system that condenses vapor into liquid. The performance of a condenser can be influenced by heat transfer rate, vacuum pressure, and effectiveness. The aim of this research is to determine the effectiveness value and variables that affect the performance of the condenser in the lemongrass distillation process, as well as to understand the influence of heat transfer rate on film condensation (condensate vapor mass). The research method used the Log Mean Temperature Difference (LMTD) and Effectiveness - Number of Transfer Unit (NTU) to calculate the effectiveness value and compared the condensate vapor mass with the mass flow rate of vapor to obtain film condensation. The research results showed an effectiveness value of 89% in the condenser, and the condensate vapor mass accounted for 36% of the biooil. The influencing variables were a capacity ratio of 0.0182840, a heat transfer rate of 186544.68 W, and an LMTD of 29.74°C. Therefore, it can be concluded that the condenser used in the lemongrass distillation process still performs well.

Abstract

A hammer mill is a machine that grinds both grains and stones into fine particles called flour. The working principle of the hammer mill is that the impact process is carried out by dynamic blades repeatedly so that it breaks into small particles. The hammer mill consists of dynamic blades mounted on a rotating shaft under which there is a screen that controls the maximum particle size to exit the grinding chamber from within the hummer mill. In the process of making a hummer mill machine there are several problem formulations. One of these problems is the hummer mill machine manufacturing process and the influence of rotation variations on the hummer mill machine. so in this case the author tries to make a machine to achieve this problem, where the hummer mill machine can maximize efficiency in order to achieve more effectiveness. The advantages of this machine, besides being able to grind animal feed, can also grind rocks in the form of fine grains using a 3 mm or 5 mm sieve, which means more efficient 2 uses are needed. while the cost of making this machine does not have to be expensive but affordable, this hummer mill machine can produce a production capacity of 200 kg/hour.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the performance of a fried onion draining machine designed for the needs of small-scale food industries. The machine operates using the principle of centrifugal force and is constructed with 304 stainless steel to ensure food safety and resistance to corrosion. Testing was conducted using variables such as rotation speed, draining time, and material capacity. Results show that the machine can reduce oil content in fried onions by 14.29% within 2 minutes, with a draining capacity of 50 kg per hour at 700 rpm. Energy efficiency achived was 35,49%, showing the potential for practical application of this machine in the UMKM environment. The use of this machine results in fried onions that are crispier, have a longer shelf life, and are processed more hygienically and efficiently. Further recommendations include design and operation system optimization to improve performance.
