Abstract

The Nandong tradition is an abstract expression representing Simeulue's unique cultural heritage. This research aims to describe the local wisdom values of the Nandong tradition in Simeulue and their function in cultural inheritance for the local community. This research was conducted using a qualitative ethnographic approach. This research shows that the Simeulue people have various oral traditions, including the nanga-nanga and Dandong traditions. These traditions have meaningful values passed down by their ancestors from generation to generation and are instilled in the daily life of the Simeulue people. , these values are the delivery of moral messages, advice, attitudes of respect, responsibility, and resilience; these values cannot be separated from religious teachings. The cultural inheritance of the local wisdom values of the Nandong tradition is to perform Nandong arts at Simeulue birthday events and cultural festivals, welcoming guests as well as at weddings and circumcisions of the apostles and inviting the public to watch every Nandong performance so that people understand Nandong. Nandong art is also inherited through Nandong poetry, which contains important meaning, namely the advice in it, which is then conveyed to the public regarding knowledge of the signs of natural phenomena. However, the preservation of Nandong culture has begun to fade due to the development of modern musical instruments, so local culture is increasingly rarely displayed.

Abstract

Pandemi Covid 19 memberi dampak yang luas terhadap perekonomian masyarakat, sehingga masyarakat berupaya untuk menstabilkan pendapatan keluarga. Upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk pemenuhan  kebutuhan masyarakat dengan memanfaatkan usaha swadaya masyarakat yaitu budidaya ikan lele dalam ember. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat (PKM) yang dilaksanakan melakukan budidaya ikan lele dalam ember sebagai upaya ketahanan pangan keluarga selama pandemi covid 19 bagi masyarakat Meurandeh Teungoh, Kecamatan Langsa Lama, Kota Langsa. Tujuan kegiatan ini memberikan pelatihan budidaya ikan lele dalam ember dengan sistem akuaponik tanaman kangkung bagi masyarakat di dusun Bahagia 1, serta sebagai upaya ketahanan pangan keluarga dimasa pandemi covid 19 mengingat menurunnya pendapatan ekonomi masyarakat. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan pada 29 November - 7 Desember 2020. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat di Dusun Bahagian 1 menjadi 4 tahapan kegiatan: sosialiasi kegiatan, persiapan alat dan bahan, pelatihan budidaya ikan lele dalam ember sistem akuaponik tanaman kangkung, dan pendampingan kegiatan. Hasil kegiatan diperoleh 3 drum budidaya ikan lele dengan sistem akuaponik tanaman kangkung, yang dikelola secara besama dan terpadu oleh masyarakat.

Abstract

Generasi muda saat ini cenderung lemah pengetahuan budaya serta pembelajaran sejarah di sekolah sedikit menjadikan tradisi lokal sebagai sumber belajar, salah satunya tradisi meugang. Penelitian bertujuan mengidentifikasi tradisi meugang masyarakat kota Langsa dan bagaimana relevansi terhadap pembelajaran sejarah. Metode menerapkan jenis kualitatif deskriptif dengan observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi sebagai proses membantu pengumpulan data. Kemudian, di analisis melalui reduksi, penyajian dan simpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan di kota Langsa tradisi meugang yang paling meriah adalah saat menyambut bulan puasa dan hari raya Idulfitri. Tradisi meugang memiliki relevansi  dalam pembelajaran sejarah. Pembelajaran sejarah di SMA mengadopsi dua kurikulum, yaitu 2013 dan merdeka. Pada Kurikulum 2013, pembelajaran sejarah terbagi menjadi sejarah wajib (Indonesia) dan sejarah peminatan. Tradisi meugang memiliki relevansi dengan materi sejarah Indonesia pada masa Islam dan masa kolonial. Pada pembelajaran sejarah peminatan, terutama materi berpikir sejarah, sumber sejarah, dan penelitian sejarah untuk kelas X, serta pada tema perkembangan budaya pada era orde baru dan reformasi untuk kelas XII. Pada kurikulum merdeka relevan pada fase E untuk kelas X, mencakup materi masa kerajaan islam di Indonesia.

Abstract

The development of technology has had a significant impact on the education sector. The use of technology, including ChatGPT, as a tool in providing academic support for students is becoming increasingly common. This study aims to analyze the impact of using ChatGPT on the quality of academic support for students. This research is a literature review using a qualitative approach, which means that it will analyze and interpret data using information and text from a variety of different sources. The study results show that the use of ChatGPT in student academic support has a significant impact on accessibility and learning efficiency. Although it provides easy access to information, it should be noted that irreplaceable human interaction remains important. The development of this technology requires wise integration, focusing on training education-specific models and involving teachers in continuous monitoring and development.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the background of the emergence of the sabil war saga and examine the influence of the sabil war saga on the spirit of the Acehnese people's struggle in the Aceh war against the Dutch (1873-1903). The method used is the historical method, so the steps used in this study include heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. Based on the results of the study, it was concluded that in Aceh's war against the Dutch, it gave birth to its own mentality for the people of Aceh, there was resistance to maintain the dignity of the state while at the same time upholding the religion of Islam. The background of the emergence of the sabil war saga was during the Aceh war against the Netherlands. In the face of a prolonged war the sabil war saga became a kind of belief that became a source of strength, enthusiasm, and courage against the presence of the Dutch. Sabil war is jihad fisabilillah against all forms of colonialism that interfere with the religion of Islam and its homeland. The great influence of the sabil war saga has succeeded in igniting the spirit of jihad fisabilillah and is considered a very dangerous subversive work. The law of stable war is fardhu ain, which is obligatory on all believers, men and women, young and old, including children. Keyword: saga, sabil war, spirit of struggle, the people of Aceh.

Abstract

The writing in this article aims to examine the role of the Riau Malay Customary Institution in Rokan Hulu Regency in the traditional values ​​of Malay culture. This study discusses the role of the Riau Malay Customary Institution in Rokan Hulu district with Malay cultural values ​​in 2009-2021. The method used is field research or field research in the form of qualitative descriptive with an anthropological approach using ethnographic methods. Based on Key's research that regarding the role of Malay traditional institutions in Rokan Hulu Regency, it can unlock that the role of Malay adat institutions in Rokan Hulu Regency is to fight for the rights of indigenous peoples in Rokan Hulu Regency, as a forum for channeling the aspirations of the Malay community, especially Rokan Hulu Regency and fighting for the rights of the people of Rokan Hulu Regency. - the rights of indigenous peoples such as customary land. This research shows the role of the Riau Malay Customary Institution in Rokan Hulu Regency, namely the development of traditional leaders. The efforts of the Malay Traditional Institution of Rokan Hulu Regency are to use operational strategies and cooperation between organizations such as Hulubalang. The operational strategy of the Malay Traditional Institution of Rokan Hulu Regency is by providing guidance to traditional leaders and also trying to publicize all forms of activities of the Rokan Hulu Regency Malay Traditional Institution through existing media.

Abstract

Tourism development is the right choice and action considering that Langsa City has a lot of potential and natural resources that can be developed to the fullest. The wealth of potential and natural resources opens up opportunities for tourism development in Langsa City. The trend of developing the tourism industry is a phenomenon that occurs not only in Langsa City but throughout Indonesia and even the world. This is reasonable considering the large value generated by this sector. This research was conducted with the aim of, (1) To find out the efforts made by the Langsa City government in the tourism sector? (2) To find out the development of Langsa City tourism in 2014-2019. In writing this thesis using the type of qualitative research. The data analysis technique was carried out using the steps of (1) data collection, (2) data reduction, (3) data display and (4) verification and conclusion. The results of the study show that tourism development efforts in Langsa City carried out by the Langsa City Government Dispora are carried out through efforts: (a) developing tourist destinations, (b) developing facilities and infrastructure, (c) carrying out promotional activities, and (d) increasing human resources. . In this development effort, the Langsa City Government Dispora as a policy maker is more of a facilitator. In its implementation, it uses APBK and OSTUS funding sources and collaborates with entrepreneurs and the private sector. The development of tourism provides benefits for the community in Langsa City, namely: opening up job and business opportunities, increasing people's income by trading or by working in tourist destinations, as well as reducing unemployment with the opening of new businesses, developing community mindsets in a positive direction towards tourism and the growing awareness of the love of cleanliness and its cultural values. also has an influence on culture such as changes in lifestyle due to the effect of imitating tourist habits, changes in values, starting to be able to avoid misunderstandings in communicating and socializing, mutual respect for cultural differences and growing love for one's own culture.

Abstract

Education in the digital era is currently experiencing rapid development, where the internet has become one of the primary sources of information. However, unwise use of the internet can have a negative impact, especially on students at the elementary school (SD) level. Therefore, Samudra University lecturers and students are committed to carrying out Community Service (PKM) at the Matang Keupula Dua Elementary School. This activity aims to increase students' understanding and awareness of the importance of a healthy and safe internet. There are three stages in implementing healthy and safe internet education activities: the preparation stage, implementation stage, and evaluation stage (data collection and data analysis). The results of the implementation of community service activities, which lasted for one day, received a positive response from the training participants, both students and teachers. This Community Service Program (PKM) can be considered successful and implemented in accordance with the proposed targets. Thus, 29 students' knowledge regarding healthy and safe internet use increased by 27%.

Abstract

Pada abad ke-12 Masehi (sekitar tahun 1350), wilayah pantai timur Aceh menjadi salah satu sasaran ekspansi Kerajaan Majapahit di bawah pimpinan Patih Gajah Mada. Gajah Mada berambisi untuk menyatukan seluruh Nusantara melalui "Sumpah Palapa" pada masa pemerintahan Raja Hayam Wuruk dan Mahapatih Ratu Tribhuwanatunggadewi. Kegagalannya dalam menguasai Samudra Pasai menyebabkan Gajah Mada mengalihkan ekspansi ke wilayah Tamiang, yang mencakup pendudukan beberapa wilayah, seperti Manyak Payed, Sungai Raya (Gajah Meuntah), dan Aramiyah. Lokasi-lokasi ini kini menjadi situs sejarah yang penting dan perlu diperkenalkan kepada generasi muda, khususnya siswa SMA Negeri 1 Seruway, Kabupaten Tamiang. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dimulai dengan penyusunan rencana dan koordinasi dengan pihak sekolah untuk menentukan waktu dan lokasi kegiatan. Sosialisasi mengenai sejarah ekspansi Majapahit dilakukan melalui metode kajian sejarah, yang mencakup berpikir kronologis, pemahaman sejarah, interpretasi historis, dan riset historis. Siswa kemudian diajak untuk melakukan observasi langsung ke situs-situs sejarah di Aceh Tamiang, mengumpulkan data, dan mendiskusikan temuan mereka. Selanjutnya, siswa menyusun laporan berdasarkan hasil observasi dan analisis yang dilakukan. Hasil kegiatan ini dipublikasikan dalam jurnal dan media cetak untuk disebarluaskan. Kegiatan ini ditutup dengan evaluasi untuk menilai keberhasilan program dan penyusunan dokumentasi sebagai referensi di masa depan.

Abstract

Abstract, The Struggle for Spices Trade on the Eastern Coast of Aceh: Tracing the Historical Remain and Cultural Heritage of the Pepper Kingdom. The east coast of Aceh, as part of the Southeast Asian region, has an important role in the history of the spice trade. These trading activities have shaped civilization and international relations for centuries. This research aims to reveal the history of the spice civilization and raise awareness of the historical heritage of spices on the east coast of Aceh. Spices have long been an essential commodity in global trade, influencing the development of civilizations and relations between nations. Nonetheless, over time, knowledge of the important role of the east coast of Aceh in the history of spices is fading. This research uses an interdisciplinary approach that involves historical, archaeological, and ethnographic studies to explore traces of history that are hidden, and scattered on the east coast of Aceh. Through primary data collection, interviews with experts, local researchers, and the local community, as well as direct observation of physical and cultural remains, this research seeks to reconstruct the historical narrative of the heritage of the spice civilization on the east coast of Aceh. This research found that on most of the east coast of Aceh, there are several historical remains related to traces and civilizations of spices in the 17th to 19th centuries. These traces of history are significant in providing information and historical awareness for the people regarding the spice civilization on the east coast of Aceh. It’s just that there are still many challenges to instilling historical awareness about the history of spices. The historical heritage of the spice civilization has not been mapped correctly, and the condition of the heritage that has not been maintained has led to information and narratives on the history of spices on the east coast of Aceh. This research hopes to encourage concrete steps in protecting, preserving, and appreciating the heritage of the pepper kingdom on the East Coast of Aceh for present and future generations. Keywords: Awareness, History, Pepper, Coast, Aceh, Heritage     Abstrak, Pesisir timur Aceh, sebagai bagian dari kawasan Asia Tenggara memiliki peran penting dalam jejak sejarah perdagangan rempah. Aktifitas perdagangan tersebut telah membentuk peradaban dan hubungan internasional selama berabad-abad. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap sejarah peradaban rempah dan meningkatkan kesadaran terhadap peninggalan sejarah rempah di pesisir timur Aceh. Rempah telah lama menjadi komoditas penting dalam perdagangan global, mempengaruhi perkembangan peradaban dan hubungan antarbangsa. Meskipun demikian, seiring berjalannya waktu, pengetahuan tentang peran penting pesisir timur Aceh dalam sejarah rempah semakin memudar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan lintas disiplin ilmu yang melibatkan kajian sejarah, arkeologi, dan etnografi untuk menggali jejak-jejak sejarah yang tersembunyi, bahkan berserakan di pesisir timur Aceh. Melalui pengumpulan data primer, wawancara dengan para ahli, peneliti lokal, dan masyarakat setempat, serta pengamatan langsung terhadap peninggalan-peninggalan fisik dan budaya, penelitian ini berusaha merekonstruksi narasi sejarah peninggalan peradaban rempah di pesisir timur Aceh. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa di pesisir timur Aceh terdapat beberapa peninggalan sejarah yang berkaitan dengan jejak dan peradaban rempah pada abad ke-17 hingga 19. Jejak peninggalan sejarah tersebut signifikan dalam memberikan informasi dan kesadaran sejarah bagi masyarakat terkait peradaban rempah di pesisir Timur Aceh. Hanya saja, untuk menanamkan kesadaraan sejarah dalam kaitannya sejarah rempah masih ditemui banyak tantangan. Peninggalan sejarah peradaban rempah belum terpetakan dengan baik dan kondisi peninggalan yang tidak terpelihara menyebabkan informasi dan narasi sejarah rempah diwilayah tersebut. Penelitian ini berharap dapat mendorong langkah-langkah konkret dalam menjaga, memelihara, dan menghargai warisan kenegerian lada di pesisir Timur Aceh untuk generasi masa kini dan mendatang.
