Abstract

Permasalahan pengelolaan sampah di SD Negeri Tambangan 02 Kota Semarang menunjukkan rendahnya literasi lingkungan dan partisipasi siswa dalam aksi nyata. Program pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan memperkuat karakter kewarganegaraan dan kesadaran ekologis melalui pendekatan service learning berbasis praktik eco craft. Pengabdian menggunakan desain studi kasus dengan melibatkan 56 siswa kelas IV melalui tahapan perencanaan, persiapan, pelaksanaan, dan evaluasi. Tahap persiapan mencakup pengadaan bahan daur ulang, penyusunan instrumen, serta koordinasi dengan pendidik. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi partisipatif, kuesioner skala Likert, dan analisis dokumen. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pada pengetahuan lingkungan, sikap kewarganegaraan, niat berperilaku pro-lingkungan, serta keterampilan praktis. Evaluasi menghasilkan skor 3.687 dari 3.840 (95,99%) dengan kategori “sangat baik”. Program ini terbukti efektif menumbuhkan budaya daur ulang, gotong royong, dan kepedulian ekologis di sekolah dasar, serta layak direplikasi untuk mendukung Kurikulum Merdeka, program Adiwiyata, dan pencapaian Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Abstract

This study aims to synthesize empirical evidence on the role of character strengths in strengthening student well-being in the digital era and to examine its implications for character education policy. Using a systematic literature review guided by the PRISMA framework, this study conducted identification, screening, and eligibility assessment processes, resulting in the inclusion of 26 peer-reviewed international articles published between 2011 and 2024 from Scopus, Web of Science, and ERIC databases. Data were analyzed through thematic synthesis to identify dominant digital risks, character strengths associated with well-being, and their functional roles. The findings indicate that digital risks do not exert deterministic effects on student well-being; rather, their impact is conditional and shaped by students’ character strengths. Self-regulation, hope, gratitude, perseverance, and critical thinking consistently emerged as key strengths that function as direct predictors, moderators, and mediators of student well-being. These findings highlight the importance of reframing character education from a moral–normative orientation toward a strength-based and evidence-informed approach. The study concludes that strengthening student well-being in the digital era requires sustained educational investment in character strengths as preventive psychological capacities that support adaptive digital engagement and flourishing.

Abstract

The purpose of this Community Service activity was to strengthen the character of elementary school students in the digital era while fostering a sense of love and appreciation for local culture. The target participants were students of Sekolah Dasar Negeri (SDN) 04 Lerep, specifically grades 4 to 6, with a total of 68 students involved in the program. The activity implemented a service-learning method, which integrates direct learning experiences with community engagement. This approach combined educational activities with practical community-based initiatives to enhance students’ character development. Nature exploration was incorporated as a strategy to reduce students’ dependence on digital gadgets while simultaneously introducing and reinforcing local cultural values. Through interactive and experiential learning, students were encouraged to actively participate, reflect, and apply positive behaviors in their daily lives. The results of the program indicated improved understanding regarding responsible gadget use, character education, and greater awareness and appreciation of local cultural heritage among the students.
