Abstract

Anemia is a significant health problem among adolescent girls, mainly due to increased iron demand during growth and menstruation. SKI data in 2023 states that the prevalence of teenage anemia is 21%. This service aims to reduce the prevalence of anemia in adolescent girls through the socialization of the CARE Application (Prevent Teenage Anemia) and the provision of blood supplement tablets at MTsN Pangkep. This activity involved 60 female students as participants, with methods that included health education through videos, hemoglobin checks, anthropometric measurements (weight, height, upper arm circumference), and distribution of blood supplement tablets by the local Puskesmas. The community service team acted as facilitators, with support from UKS teachers and Puskesmas health workers. The results showed that the structured and collaborative approach effectively increased understanding of anemia and improved adolescent girls' health status. The activity also strengthened health literacy among participants, which may contribute to a long-term reduction in anemia prevalence. In conclusion, multifaceted interventions that combine health education and nutritional supplementation are essential in preventing anemia in adolescent girls and need to be implemented more widely in other school settings to achieve a more significant impact.

Abstract

The use of smartphones among elementary school children has increased alongside advancements in digital technology. Although smartphones offer benefits for entertainment and learning, uncontrolled use can lead to various negative effects, including physical, psychological, and social impacts. This study aims to examine the influence of smartphone use on children aged 7–12 years, the role of parents in providing guidance, and the strategies implemented to mitigate these adverse effects in Dusun Rontojali, Kecamatan Dapurang, Kabupaten Pasangkayu. The research employed a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation, involving ten parents as primary informants. Data analysis was conducted using MAXQDA software through coding and thematic analysis. The findings revealed negative impacts such as disrupted sleep patterns, increased emotional volatility, addiction, reduced social interaction, and decreased learning motivation. Parents play a crucial role as caregivers, supervisors, role models, and motivators. Strategies applied included limiting screen time, establishing rules, providing direct supervision, and directing children toward physical or educational activities. Thus, active parental involvement through consistent implementation of these strategies proves effective in reducing the negative effects of smartphone use on children.

Abstract

Primary healthcare services are the initial access point for BPJS Kesehatan participants in the Indonesian healthcare system. However, the public still complains about various obstacles such as limited facilities, long waiting times, limited medication, and suboptimal healthcare services. This study aims to explore the experiences of BPJS patients in accessing services at the Lapadde Community Health Center in Parepare City. This study used a qualitative phenomenological approach through in-depth interviews with 16 informants. Data analysis was conducted using MAXQDA with coding and thematic methods. The results showed that patients considered the facilities inadequate, especially medical equipment and room comfort. Long waiting times were due to limited staff and high number of visits. Medication services were carried out according to procedures, but the types and stock were limited. Healthcare workers were considered friendly and communicative, although interaction was limited due to queues and limited human resources. In conclusion, BPJS patients still face obstacles in primary care, so improvements in facilities, queue management, medication availability, and communication training for healthcare workers are needed to support responsive and quality services.
