Abstract

Prambanan Ekspres is a mode of transportation with 3500-5000 passengers per day, with a system of choosing its own seat and train. However, the lack of information on the number of passengers on each train causes several trains to build up. It is necessary to hold an innovation to improve the quality of facilities, comfort and service by making a model of the number of passengers based on the ATMega2560 microcontroller. The stages of this research include observation, design of planning tools, testing tools, taking data, and analyzing the results of research on the number of passengers. Based on the results of testing the tools and research data, it can be concluded that the accuracy of the equipment ranges from 85% to a minimum feasible limit of 60%. Then the model for detecting passengers is above the average eligibility

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design a prototype tool to improve the resistance of railroad tracks. The method in this study was carried out with the concept of surface treatment theory, then described using solidwork software in the form of prototype design. As a validation of the prototype design, preliminary research was carried out by giving heat treatment to the railroad tracks by utilizing the oxy-acetylene gas neutral flame and quenching quickly. Furthermore the railroad tracks were tested for hardness and microstructure. Rail test results are known to occur an increase in the value of hardness by 30 VHN and changes in the martensitic microstructure.

Abstract

The mode of transportation is one very important factor in accelerating the socioeconomic growth of a region. Surabaya is the capital of East Java Province and is one of the largest cities on the island of Java. The city of Surabaya which bears as the capital provides a variety of infrastructure facilities in an effort to serve the community, especially in the field of transportation. Some of the modes of transportation that are developing in this city are trains and buses with routes in several small cities in East Java. In this study the authors wanted to know the characteristics of the community in the use of rail and bus transportation modes from the direction of Madiun-Surabaya. This study uses a questionnaire instrument with sampling techniques Solvin, Issac Michael and Morgan, then data analysis using descriptive models. From the results of the study, it is known that the characteristics of the community based on the price attribute mostly use bus transportation, based on the attribute of the timeliness of choosing a train and based on the hadway and the frequency tends to be the same.

Abstract

The rail rod functions as a load that holds the weight of the train traveling on it. The large circuit weight can result in excessive friction and wear, requiring a hard, wear-resistant rail surface. The purpose of this research is to design a prototype tool which serves as an effort to increase the resistance on the rail road surface. The method used in the concept of this research is the flame hardening theory, namely heating the railroad using oxy-acetylene gas then quenching quickly to increase the hardness on the railroad surface. Prototyping begins with hardware design which includes Surface Treatment tools and designing automatic control program software. The results of the prototype were tested for the successful functioning of a tool that can be operated properly using manual mode with a maximum speed of 0.1 m/s and an automatic mode of 0.08 m/s.

Abstract

Program sosialisasi keselamatan perkeretaapian bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan kesadaran masyarakat tertib berlalu lintas di perlintasan sebidang kereta api. Tujuan pengabdian untuk mengkader para pelajar sebagai generasi muda dalam upaya meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat tentang keselamatan perkerataapian. Bentuk aktivitas pengabdian yang dilakukan dengan kuliah umum dan praktek. Subjek pengabdian yaitu para siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Barat Magetan. Rendahnya pengetahuan masyakarat tentang keselamatan perkeretaapian menyebabkan banyaknya kasus kecelakaan yang terjadi diperlintasan sebidang. Peraturan yang telah dibuat oleh pemerintah selama ini tidak tersampaikan dengan baik kepada masyarakat. Oleh karena itu program sosialisasi ini sebagai salah satu upaya untuk mensosialisasikan peraturan tentang keselamatan perkeretaapian di perlintasan sebidang kepada masyarakat.

Abstract

Untuk menjamin keselamatan transportasi khususnya moda kereta api perlu adanya suatu sistem manajemen sistem perawatan yang baik. Salah satu hal yang harus dipertimbangkan adalah kopetensi dari tenaga perawat sarana perkeretaapian. Kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kopetensi tenaga perawat sarana perkeretaapian di PT. Kharisna Abadi Utama. Peningkatan kopetensi dilakukan dengan metode pemaparan teori dasar sistem pengereman sarana perkeretaapian dan dilanjutkan diskusi tanya jawab. Pada akhir pemaparan materi peserta diberikan tes akhir untuk mengetahui hasil terhadap pemahaman materi oleh peserta diklat. Hasil dari pemberdayaan masyarakat ini diharapkan peserta diklat dapat mengikuti dan memahami teknologi pada sistem pengereman sarana perkeretaapian.

Abstract

Belajar adalah satu kegiatan interaksi proses dari secara kondisi disekitar peserta didik. Seperti proses pengarahan untuk pencapaian tujuan dan proses melakukan perbuatan melalui pengalaman yang diciptakan diartikan pada belajar. Pengukuran / penilaian merupakan mencapai kompetensi. Penggunaan magnet dalam kehidupan sekarang ini tidak dapat dipungkiri. Sejak awal, penelitian dan pemahaman tentang magnet telah menghasilkan berbagai produk yang bermanfaat bagi umat manusia.. Motor listrik, generator listrik, satelit, lampu, perangkat pengangkat dan penarik benda logam pada pesawat angkat, hingga kereta api cepat adalah beberapa contoh penerapan magnet. Untuk memahami kemagnetan bagi siswa sekolah dasar dan penggunaan magnet, perlu dipahami siswa sekolah dasar. Hal ini bertujuan untuk pemahaman yang lebih baik tentang fungsi dan penggunaan magnet di sekitar kita dan pemahaman yang lebih baik sejak usia dini. Berdasarkan data survei, setelah kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat, pemahaman siswa banyak yang meningkat Berdasarkan data, bisa diketahui yang sebelum dilakukan pengabdian masyarakat adalah 70% siswa belum memahami tentang magnetik dan setelah melakukan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat tentang pemahaman magnetik siswa SD di pelajaran tematik bisa diketahui 20% siswa belum memahami tentang magnetik, 46% memahami tentang magnetic dan 34% siswa sangat memahami tentang magnetik

Abstract

Abstract The use of composite materials has been developed in the railroad transportation industry sector in Indonesia. For example, PT INKA has used composite materials with fiber glass reinforcement. The purpose of this study is to determine the characteristics of tensile strength and bending strength of the composite material so that it can be proposed to be further developed and utilized by the manufacturing industry, especially the railroad industry. In this study, 4 types of matrix variations were examined, namely epoxy, repoxy, polyester, and bhispenol using fiber glass reinforcement. Tensile strength and bending strength tests were performed in accordance with the ASTM D-638 and the ASTM D-790 standards, respectively. The results of this study indicate that the variation of the matrix is very influential on the tensile strength and bending strength of composite materials. Keywords: composite material, glass fiber, tensile strength, bending strength  Abstrak Penggunaan material komposit mulai banyak dikembangkan di sektor industri trasportasi kereta api di Indone-sia. Sebagai contoh, PT INKA sudah menggunakan material komposit dengan penguat serat gelas. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui karakteristik kekuatan tarik dan kekuatan bending material komposit agar dapat diusulkan untuk lebih dikembangkan dan dimanfaatkan oleh industri manufaktur, khususnya industri kereta api. Pada penelitian ini digunakan 4 jenis variasi matriks, yaitu epoxy, repoxy, polyester, dan bhispenol dengan menggunakan penguat serat gelas. Pengujian kekuatan tarik menggunakan standar ASTM D-638 dan pengujian bending menggunakan standar ASTM D-790. Abstract

Biocomposite is an innovation of renewable material in engineering made from the bark fiber of waru (Hibiscus tiliaceus, the bark is environmentally friendly and has the potential to be developed. The purpose of this study is to modify biocomposite by adding methacryloxypropyltrimethoxysilane-coupling agent on waru bark fiber (Hibiscus tiliaceus) as an effort to improve tensile properties. Waru bast fibers, as reinforcement, were prepared by alkali procces using 6% NaOH solution for 120 minutes and then added 0.75% coupling agent and  ordered using continous fibers with 0°/0°, 0°/90° and 45°/45° orientation. After that, the Biocomposites  were formed with a polyester matrix using Vacuum Pressure Resin Infusion (VAPRI) method. The results of SEM tested showed the quality improvement of the bonds bringing significant impact on the tensile properties of the waru bark biocomposite. On the continous fiber 0°/90° orientated  showed that the highest strength was 401.368 MPa, while biocomposites with 45°/45° orientation has lowest tensile strength of 65.243 MPa

Abstract

A crash box is one of the absolute safeties in transportation that functions as a means ofabsorbing impact energy to reduce injuries to drivers and passengers due to collisions or accidents. This study aims to determine the value of energy absorption and the resulting deformation pattern on the crash box in the form of a one-segment circular tube. The method in this study uses a quasiexperimental using finite element-based simulation software (finite element method). The variables in this study include a tube length of 300 mm with variations in the thickness of 1,5 mm and 3 mm and a tube diameter of 120 mm. A quasi-static collision test will be carried out with an impactor with a mass of 200 kg and a speed of 10 m/s. The simulation on the crash box is observed based on the value of energy absorption, reaction force, and the formed deformation pattern. The simulation results show that the highest energy absorption value is found in the 3 mm thick crash box of 790000 Joules. The reaction force of 230000 N. It can be seen that the deformation pattern formed tends to bend in the 1,5 mm thick crash box and forms a concertina pattern on the thick crash box is 3 mm..
