Abstract

Tanaman obat di Indonesia memiliki peran yang sangat vital dalam menjaga kesehatan, baik melalui pendekatan preventif maupun promotif. Salah satu contohnya adalah tanaman jahe, yang merupakan jenis rimpang yang mudah dibudidayakan dan tersebar luas di Indonesia. Selain digunakan sebagai rempah-rempah dan bumbu masak, jahe juga menjadi komoditi penting dalam industri dengan produk olahannya seperti serbuk manisan jahe. Di Dusun Ranurejo, Desa Sumberanyar, Kecamatan Banyuputih, Kabupaten Situbondo, Provinsi Jawa Timur, dilakukan kegiatan sosialisasi mengenai pembudidayaan jahe. Sasaran utama kegiatan ini adalah ibu-ibu dari Dasawisa Melati RT. 002 RW.001. Metode yang diterapkan adalah partisipatif, di mana peserta secara langsung terlibat dalam kegiatan tersebut. Keseluruhan proses sosialisasi berjalan lancar, dengan partisipasi aktif dan antusiasme tinggi dari peserta dalam mengikuti kegiatan ini.

Abstract

The State Detention Center (RUTAN) is an integral part of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, which is entrusted with the responsibility for executing the main tasks of the Ministry in the aspects of placement, care and services for prisoners. A concrete example of a detention center is the Situbondo Class II B Detention Center, a correctional institution located in Situbondo Regency, East Java Province, Indonesia. Individuals serving a sentence in a class II B State Detention Center, including inmates or detainees, have the need to improve their skills during the period of their detention. One of the rehabilitative activities carried out in prison is the practice of hydroponics, where one type of plant grown is mint. So far, the harvest of mint plants has been sold directly to prison visitors and also promoted at car free day activities in the Situbondo square. It was revealed that the leaves of the mint plant have significant health value and can be processed into herbal tea. In this context, assistance was provided with the process of making mint leaf tea at the Class II B Detention Center in Situbondo as part of efforts to diversify medicinal plants. This program aims to achieve two main benefits. First, stimulate the motivation of inmates to develop entrepreneurial skills after they are released from punishment, with the hope of improving their economic conditions. Second, increase their understanding of the processing of agricultural products, especially mint leaves which are processed into herbal tea. Training and practical methods are directly applied in this empowerment activity. The results include increased knowledge and skills in processing mint leaves into herbal tea. The final product of this program is herbal tea with an attractive and informative packaging design.

Abstract

One of the agricultural commodities that is very significant in boosting the country's economy is coffee. Kayumas Village is the largest coffee-producing area in Situbondo Regency. Kayumas Village can potentially develop organic coffee with some of the already certified organic land. Organic coffee is coffee that is produced using organic methods such as using organic fertilizer. Coffee farming in Kayumas Village is still entirely sustainable. This research aimed to determine the index and sustainability status of organic coffee farming in Kayumas Village, Arjasa District, Situbondo Regency. This research can provide information for farmers on the sustainability of coffee farming and can be a consideration for the government in making better policies regarding coffee farming. The study was conducted in 2023 by collecting data using survey and observation methods. Sampling used a saturated sampling technique because the sample was less than 30 people; the sample used was all 20 members of the Kelompok Tani Sejahtera. The analysis method used is Multidimensional Scaling (MDS), which uses the Rap-Coffe approach to see the sustainability status in Kayumas Village. There are five variables used in this research, namely ecological dimensions, economic dimensions, social dimensions, institutional dimensions, and infrastructure and technology dimensions. Each dimension has several attributes assessed to obtain a sustainability index value. The results showed that the ecological and economic dimensions are in the sustainable category, while the social and institutional dimensions and infrastructure and technology dimensions are in the moderately sustainable category. The most sensitive attributes to the sustainability of organic coffee in Kayumas Village in each dimension are (a) the ecological dimension, namely waste disposal; (b) the economic dimension, namely income outside coffee farming; (d) the social dimension, i.e., the average age of farmers; (e) institutional dimension, namely participation in farmer groups; (f) the dimensions of infrastructure and technology, namely the availability of agricultural processing industries.

Abstract

Catfish is a fish that is familiar to the community and has high nutritional value. FPST catfish biofloc pond is a practice area for entrepreneurship learning for students with the harvest directly marketed to catfish collectors. Dpore Meme Micro Business is one of the MSMEs in Situbondo that is engaged in the business of processing fish products into shredded fish and chili sauce. The problem faced by Dpore meme MSMEs currently is the need for diversification of superior products so that it can attract more consumers in the future. With the unprocessed catfish harvest to increase its added value, FPST collaborates with Dpore Meme MSMEs to process it into a product that will later become a new product from Dpore Meme MSMEs. The service method is carried out through counseling and accompanied by the practice of making catfish nuggets, packaging and branding. The results obtained from this service increase the knowledge and skills of processing catfish into catfish nuggets. It is hoped that this service can increase the knowledge and skills of Dpore meme MSMEs in processing catfish as well as becoming a new product for product diversification in its MSME.

Abstract

Mitra kegiatan pengabdian pada masyarakat dilakukan pada kelompok Tani Alun-Alun Jaya di Desa Kayumas Kecamatan Arjasa Kabupaten Situbondo. Pembuatan simlpisia jahe di kelompok tani Alun-alun Jaya sudah menggunakan mesin perajang, penepung dan penjemuran dengan tenaga surya, sedangkan proses pencucian jahe oleh mitra masih dilakukan secara tradisional dengan menggunakan ember dan dibersihkan memakai tenaga manual. Hal ini menyebabkan penggunaan biaya produksi yang tinggi karena menggukanan tenaga kerja yang lebih banyak dan secara kuantitas maupun kualitas kurang maksimal, selain itu produk simplisia jahe yang sudah dihasilkan belum memiliki label PIRT dan label halal sehingga menyebabkan keraguan bagi kalangan tertentu di masyarakat terhadap produk tersebut yang pada akhirnya akan berimbas pada pemasaran belum maksimal. Solusi yang ditawarkan kepada mitra adalah mencakup bidang produksi dan manajemen pemasaran. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat melalui program kemitraan pada masyarakat ini adalah untuk membantu penyelesaian permasalahan mitra agar mitra mampu meningkatkan pendapatan, memberdayakan hasil penelitian dosen agar bermanfaat dan memberikan mahasiswa mendapat pengalaman di luar kampus. Luaran yang ditargetkan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah masyarakat dapat menggunakan mesin pencuci jahe, diperoleh kualitas dan kuantitas produk simplisia jahe menjadi lebih baik melalui penggunaan teknologi yang diterapkan sehingga pendapatan mitra meningkat serta memiliki pengetahuan tentang pemasaran dan analisa usaha dan mitra dapat mengetahui dengan pasti keuntungan setiap proses produksi.

Abstract

Sektor perikanan dan kelautan di Jawa Timur, khususnya di Situbondo, memiliki peluang besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai sumber ekonomi alternatif berbasis perikanan yang berkelanjutan. Hal ini didukung oleh panjang garis pantai Situbondo yang lebih luas dibandingkan kabupaten lainnya di wilayah tersebut. Salah satu komoditas unggulan adalah ikan lele, yang tidak hanya dikenal luas oleh masyarakat tetapi juga memiliki kandungan gizi yang tinggi. Di Situbondo, UMKM D'pore Meme berfokus pada pengolahan hasil perikanan menjadi produk seperti abon dan sambal. Selain itu, terdapat kolam bioflok yang dikelola oleh Fakultas Pertanian, Sains, dan Teknologi Universitas Abdurachman Saleh untuk budidaya ikan lele. Namun, hasil panen dari kolam ini selama ini hanya dijual dalam kondisi segar tanpa proses pengolahan lebih lanjut, sehingga nilai tambahnya belum dimaksimalkan. Dalam rangka pengabdian kepada masyarakat, tim dosen FPST Unars menjalin kolaborasi dengan UMKM D'pore Meme untuk menciptakan produk olahan baru berupa abon lele. Kegiatan ini melibatkan penyuluhan dan praktik langsung pembuatan abon lele sebagai upaya diversifikasi produk olahan di UMKM tersebut. Hasilnya, pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam pengolahan lele menjadi abon meningkat, yang diharapkan dapat memperkaya variasi produk sekaligus meningkatkan daya saing usaha D'pore Meme.

Abstract

Desa Kayumas, Kecamatan Arjasa, Kabupaten Situbondo, merupakan salah satu desa penghasil kopi terbesar di wilayah Situbondo dengan produksi mencapai 794,8 ribu ton per Tahun. Namun, limbah kulit kopi yang belum dikelola dengan baik menjadi permasalahan lingkungan yang signifikan menyumbang 40-45% dari total produksi kopi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memanfaatkan limbah kulit kopi sebagai bahan dasar pembuatan cookies rendah lemak, guna mengurangi pencemaran lingkungan dan meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat Desa Kayumas, khususnya kelompok Ibu-ibu PKK. Melalui metode pelatihan, penyuluhan, dan pendampingan kewirausahaan, program ini berhasil memberikan keterampilan baru kepada mitra dalam mengolah limbah kulit kopi menjadi tepung dan cookies. Hasil program menunjukkan bahwa seluruh target kegiatan tercapai 100%, dengan dampak signifikan terhadap aspek sosial, ekonomi, pendidikan, dan lingkungan. Produk ’Cookies Kulit Kopi’ yang dihasilkan memiliki potensi pasar yang besar, membuka peluang tambahan pendapatan bagi keluarga mitra. Program ini juga mendukung tercapainya Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) dalam bidang lingkungan dan ekonomi.

Abstract

Tobacco shreds are one way of processing tobacco plants. Tobacco farming in Panarukan District is owned by the community. Kilensari Village is one of the tobacco producing areas in Panarukan District. Although the price of tobacco changes every planting season, high market demand encourages farmers to develop the tobacco industry. The high interest of farmers in cultivating tobacco in Kilensari Village has certainly given rise to businesses engaged in this sector, one of which is the processing of tobacco water shoots into Rajang tobacco. This business was founded by Mr. Kafi since the last 20 years with a slashing system to obtain raw materials from surrounding farmers. The purpose of this study was to determine the added value obtained from processing water shoots into sliced tobacco. This study was designed with a qualitative design and used a case study technique. Data were analyzed using the Hayami value-added method and described with quantitative and qualitative data. The results showed that sliced tobacco received an average added value of IDR 2,965 per kilogram, with a ratio of added value to average output value of 83.36 percent during the production process. This value added ratio is included in the high value added category because it is above 40%. This shows that the added value generated from the shredded water leaf tobacco farming business into water leaf shoots is very high. The shredded tobacco business produces 96% profit, with labor income of 3.53%.

Abstract

Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memperkenalkan dan membangun instalasi hidroponik dengan sistem Nutrient Film Technique (NFT) menggunakan botol bekas di SMP Islam Banyuglugur, Situbondo. Latar belakang program ini adalah tingginya jumlah sampah plastik di lingkungan sekolah yang tidak dimanfaatkan secara optimal, serta rendahnya pengetahuan siswa mengenai metode pertanian modern yang ramah lingkungan. Metode yang digunakan meliputi pelatihan teori dan praktik tentang hidroponik, pembangunan instalasi NFT dari botol bekas, hingga pendampingan perawatan tanaman. Program ini diharapkan dapat meningkatkan keterampilan siswa dalam memanfaatkan limbah plastik sekaligus memperkenalkan teknologi pertanian yang inovatif. Program pembangunan instalasi hidroponik sistem NFT dengan memanfaatkan botol bekas di SMP Islam Banyuglugur berhasil meningkatkan pemahaman siswa tentang hidroponik dan pengelolaan limbah plastik. Instalasi yang dibangun tidak hanya memperindah lingkungan sekolah tetapi juga memberikan manfaat ekonomi dan sosial.

Abstract

Rice is an agricultural commodity that produces rice as the staple food of the Indonesian people, so various efforts have been made to achieve high productivity to meet the demand from the public for rice. However, for regions that have problems in the provision of irrigation water, special efforts must be made. So that efforts to increase the productivity of rice farming remain high. The reality is that in Situbondo Regency, East Java, irrigation water is regulated, with a rotating rice cropping pattern, some areas are planted during the dry season and some are planted during the rainy season. The aims of this research are: 1). To study the production of rice farming; 2). To analyze the difference in income; 3). To analyze the differences in the efficiency of rice farming in the dry season and rainy season in Lamongan Village, Arjasa District, Situbondo Regency. This research uses quantitative descriptive to prove the hypothesis that there are differences in production, income and efficiency (R/C ratio). Determination of the Research Area in Lamongan Village, Arjasa District, Situbondo Regency, East Java Province. The time of the study was July 2022 to August 2022. The results showed that the average dry season rice farming production was 9,125 kg, and the average rainy season rice farming production was 11,250 kg. The rainy season rice farming production was greater than production dry season. The average income of rice farming per dry season is IDR 1,732,727, and the average income of rice farming in the rainy season is IDR. 2,864,445; Rice farming income in the rainy season is greater than in the dry season. The average dry season rice farming efficiency is 1.74 greater than 1, while the rainy season rice farming efficiency averages 2.11 greater than 1. The rainy season rice farming efficiency is greater than the dry season efficiency.
