Abstract

LRT (Integrated Rail Transit) is a public transportation system developed by PT. Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) to facilitate mobility for residents of Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek). The objectives of this study are: 1) identifying high-risk construction projects, 2) applying the HAZOP method to identify hazards and deviations in work processes, 3) assessing risk levels based on likelihood and severity parameters, and 4) providing risk control recommendations based on the HAZOP analysis results. This research is a descriptive analytical study with a qualitative-quantitative approach, conducted on the Jakarta LRT Phase 1B Project, Velodrome–Manggarai Segment, implemented in January 2026. Data collection involved field observations, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results indicate: 1) Identification of High-Risk Work: High-risk construction work in the LRT Phase 1B project includes the use of heavy equipment (jack hammers), concrete casting, girder lifting, electrical installation, and welding processes. 2) The application of the HAZOP method is effective in identifying potential hazards and deviations in various work processes. 3) Risk assessment based on likelihood and severity indicates the greatest risks are in girder lifting and concrete casting. 4) Risk control through technical measures (e.g., low-vibration work methods, strict supervision, use of PPE), administrative measures (SOPs, training), and physical protection (electrical protection, barricades) is essential to reduce occupational risks.

Abstract

The rapid adoption of Building Information Modeling (BIM) in the construction industry requires vocational civil engineering graduates to develop competencies beyond technical modeling skills, including interdisciplinary coordination and collaborative project workflows. However, BIM instruction in vocational higher education remains predominantly software-oriented and lacks structured integration of authentic industry practices within formal coursework. This study aimed to develop and validate a semester-integrated simulation-based learning model embedded in a compulsory BIM course. Using a Research and Development approach based on the ADDIE framework, the study involved competency gap analysis, model design, expert validation, and classroom implementation. Five experts—two BIM academics, one instructional design specialist, and two industry practitioners—evaluated the model, resulting in an overall mean feasibility score of 4.48 (SD = 0.18), categorized as Highly Valid. The model was implemented over one semester with 32 fourth-semester students. CLO-aligned performance assessment showed average scores of 82.6 in modeling accuracy, 79.4 in coordination quality, 84.1 in clash detection effectiveness, and 86.3 in teamwork, while 81% of students reported improved understanding of interdisciplinary BIM workflows. The findings demonstrate that structured simulation supports industry-aligned competency development in vocational BIM education.

Abstract

This study examines the relationship between industrial work practice experience, career guidance, and vocational interest and students’ work readiness at SMK Negeri 1 Sutera. Work readiness was operationalized as a multidimensional construct including technical competence, work attitude, and adaptability. A quantitative correlational design was employed with a sample of 130 students selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through validated questionnaires adapted from previous studies, with acceptable validity (r > 0.30) and reliability (Cronbach’s alpha > 0.70). Data were analyzed using multiple regression after meeting assumptions of normality, linearity, and multicollinearity. The results show that vocational interest has the strongest association with work readiness (β = 0.606, p < 0.001), followed by industrial work practice (β = 0.418, p < 0.001) and career guidance (β = 0.363, p < 0.01). Simultaneously, the three variables explain 31.4% of the variance in work readiness. These findings suggest that both experiential learning and intrinsic motivation are important factors, although other variables beyond this model also contribute to students’ work readiness.

Abstract

Abstract

The selection of the floor slab construction method has become an important issue in multi-storey building projects because it directly affects time and cost efficiency, while studies specifically comparing conventional and precast half slab methods in hospital buildings remain relatively limited. This study aims to analyze the comparison of time and cost in floor slab work using conventional and precast half slab methods in the construction of Hospital X. This study employed a quantitative approach with a case study design. Data were collected through field observation, interviews, and project documentation, and were then analyzed using descriptive comparative analysis. The results showed that the conventional method required a duration of 26 days per floor at a cost of Rp594,552,359, whereas the precast half slab method required a duration of 18 days per floor at a cost of Rp425,251,134. These findings indicate that the precast half slab method was 8 days faster and saved Rp169,301,225 compared with the conventional method. Thus, this study confirms that the precast half slab method is more efficient in terms of time and cost, and provides a practical contribution for contractors and project owners in determining a more effective floor slab work method for hospital buildings and multi-storey buildings.

Abstract

The implementation of the Construction Safety Management System (SMKK) in construction projects is an important aspect for ensuring worker safety, environmental protection, and work continuity. This study aimed to analyze the level of SMKK implementation, evaluate its compliance with Minister of Public Works and Housing Regulation No. 10 of 2021, and identify supporting and inhibiting factors in its implementation in the construction project of the Faculty of Engineering Lecture Buildings (B, C, and D) at XYZ University. This study used a mixed-methods approach with an evaluative descriptive design, involving 22 respondents selected through purposive sampling and total sampling techniques. Data were collected through questionnaires, interviews, observation, and documentation, and were then analyzed using descriptive statistics, data triangulation, member checking, and gap analysis. The results showed that the level of SMKK implementation was in the appropriate category, with an average score of 89.68%. The compliance evaluation showed that all main elements of SMKK had met regulatory provisions and did not show any significant gap with actual conditions in the field. Supporting factors in SMKK implementation included leadership commitment, availability of resources, workforce competence, and structured safety documentation, whereas inhibiting factors included consistency in procedure implementation and discipline in the use of personal protective equipment. The conclusion of this study confirms that the implementation of SMKK in construction projects requires continuous supervision, safety training, and strengthening of safety culture to support the sustainability of an occupational safety system that complies with regulatory provisions.

Abstract

The application of digital technology in construction is developing through the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Augmented Reality (AR), particularly to improve the effectiveness of quality control during the project implementation stage. However, the implementation of AR in construction work still faces obstacles, particularly related to workflow integration, human resource readiness, and the absence of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP). This study aimed to analyze the obstacles and formulate strategies for implementing BIM-based AR in the quality control of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) work on Hospital X project. This study used a descriptive qualitative approach with an evaluative design. Data were collected through observation, interviews with nine informants, and documentation, and were then analyzed using coding and categorization techniques. The results showed that BIM-based AR was able to improve visualization and the accuracy of MEP installation verification through comparison between digital model overlays and actual field conditions. However, its use had not been optimal because it had not been systematically integrated into the quality control workflow. The main obstacles identified were managerial in nature, especially the absence of SOP as an implementation reference. Thus, the required strategies include integrating AR into the quality control workflow, preparing operational guidelines, and developing standardized documentation to support the improvement of MEP work quality in construction projects.
