Abstract

In poetry reading contests, it was found that the contestants had not been able to show the correct expression in accordance with the message of the poem. This fact causes the message of poetry to not be understood. Choosing the right learning strategy can lead students to find the right message according to the text of the poem. Understanding the meaning of poetry in learning is very important in adapting to learning strategies. The right learning strategy for exploring the message in poetry is the Discovery-Inquiry Learning strategy. This study aimed to analyze the application of Discovery-Inquiry Learning strategies to understand the message of poetry. The subjects of this study were third semester students of Indonesian Language and Literature Education. The research method used was qualitative, with the following learning steps. The results of the study showed that by applying the find-investigation learning strategy, (1) students were able to find physical elements associated with mental elements. (2) students were motivated to study poetry, (3) students were able to understand the message of poetry by investigating the connotative meaning of repeated words or lines.

Abstract

Teachers have a strategic role in improving the quality of education, especially in developing professional competencies that include mastery of material, learning strategies, and utilization of educational technology. This study aims to analyze the effect of educational technology implementation on improving teachers' professional competence in order to improve the quality of education in Mamasa district. This research uses a mixed methods approach, where qualitative methods are used to describe the implementation of educational technology in the learning process, while quantitative methods are used to analyze the relationship between teachers' professional competence and student achievement through data presented in the form of numbers and tables. The results show that teachers who implement educational technology in learning tend to have more effective teaching methods, increase student engagement and contribute to improved learning outcomes. However, there are still constraints in teachers' access to technology and digital literacy that need further attention. With continuous training and mentoring, the implementation of education technology can be a solution to improve teachers' professional competence and the overall quality of education in Mamasa district.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk untuk mengetahui apakah ada pengaruh penerapan metode sugesti imajinasi dengan teknik hypnoteaching untuk meningkatkan tereampilan menulis cerpen siswa SMPN 2 Rantepao dan apakah penerapan metode ini efektif merangsang ide kreatif siswa dalam menulis cerpen. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan rancangan penelitian eksperimen semu (quasi experimental). Prosedur pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan metode tes, angket, observasi, dan perlakuan. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan pengelolaan data hasil tes dan analisis statistik. Hasil penelitian yang ditemukan dalam penelitian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kedua kelas serta data pretest dan posttest adalah sampel tidak berdistribusi normal. Hasil Uji Paired Sampel t Test diperoleh Sig. (2-Tailed) sebesar 0,0000,005 pada kelas kontrol dan 0,0000,005 untuk kelas eksperimen, maka dapat disimpulkan ada perbedaan rata-rata hasil belajar pretest dan posttest pada kedua kelas tersebut. Berdasarkan Uji Independen Samplet Test diperoleh data bahwa terdapat nilai rata-rata atau mean pada posttest kelas eksperimen sebesar 83,66 dan 76,54 pada kelas kontrol. Nilai tersebut dapat diartikan nilai rata-ratapada kelas eksperimen lebih tinggi daripada kelas kontrol. Dengan demikian hipotesis H0 ditolak dan hipotesis H1 diterima.

Abstract

Learning folk poetry in Indonesian subjects has its own challenges, especially in instilling a deep understanding to students. This study aims to explore the utilization of local wisdom-based digital media in improving students' understanding of folk poetry. Using a qualitative research approach with a case study method, this research was conducted at SMP Negeri 4 Sesean Satap involving teachers and students as the main participants. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews, and analysis of learning documents. The results show that the use of digital media that integrates local cultural elements, such as audio-visual folk poetry and interactive applications, can increase students' engagement and understanding in learning. Students find it easier to interpret the meaning of folk poetry when the material is presented through more contextual and interesting media. In addition, teachers also benefit in delivering the material more effectively. The conclusion of this study confirms that the utilization of digital media based on local wisdom can be an innovative solution in learning folk poetry. The implication of this research leads to the development of learning media that is more adaptive and in accordance with the needs of students in areas with high cultural wealth.

Abstract

Learning that prioritizes freedom of expression, smart in socializing, and virtuous becomes the principle of independent Learning Program. This principle has been introduced by Paulo Freire, which is also in line with the principles of Constructivism. The purpose of this study was to describe the effectiveness of the implementation of the independent Learning Independent Campus (MBKM) program for UKI Toraja students. The research method applied is a qualitative approach, with data collection techniques through open questionnaires to students. The implementation phase of the research started from the registration of MBKM programming students, followed by sending an open questionnaire to interns at the South Sulawesi Language Center by applying the principle of Independent Learning according to a constructivist approach. The second stage is to classify the results of the questionnaire from students, then discuss the results of the questionnaire, by linking the results of the questionnaire with the constructivist approach, and Paulo Freire's theory. To determine the validity of the data, triangulation was carried out to students regarding the results of the questionnaire. This research was conducted in the even semester of 2021/2022, for UKI Toraja students in 2019. The results showed that the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) was effective in developing creativity, independence, and social interaction. Based on the results of this study, it is recommended for further researchers to examine aspects of personal communication in the implementation of the Independent Learning Campus (MBKM) program

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital dalam pendidikan menuntut guru menghadirkan media pembelajaran yang interaktif dan menyenangkan untuk mengatasi kurangnya keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran IPA di SMPN 1 Sangalla’, pembelajaran masih cenderung didominasi metode konvensional yang menyebabkan kejenuhan dan hasil belajar kurang optimal. Kondisi ini menegaskan perlunya inovasi media, salah satunya dengan memanfaatkan platform Quizizz sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Quizizz terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi Tata Surya. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain Quasi Experimental Nonequivalent Control Group. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VII SMPN 1 Sangalla’, terdiri atas kelas VIIA sebagai kelompok kontrol (30 siswa) dengan pembelajaran konvensional dan VIIB sebagai kelompok eksperimen (29 siswa) dengan pembelajaran menggunakan Quizizz. Instrumen berupa 19 soal pilihan ganda yang telah teruji validitas dan reliabilitasnya (Cronbach’s Alpha = 0,830). Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pretest dan posttest. Data dianalisis dengan bantuan SPSS versi 25 melalui statistik deskriptif, uji normalitas Shapiro–Wilk, uji homogenitas Levene test, serta Independent Samples t-test. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan rata-rata nilai posttest kelompok eksperimen (78,22) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (71,05). Uji-t menghasilkan nilai signifikansi 0,001 < 0,05, yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan hasil belajar antara kedua kelompok. Integrasi video interaktif dalam Quizizz, yang memungkinkan berhenti pada titik tertentu untuk menampilkan pertanyaan atau penjelasan tambahan, terbukti meningkatkan fokus, keterlibatan, dan pemahaman konsep siswa dibandingkan metode konvensional. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media pembelajaran interaktif berbasis Quizizz berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar kognitif siswa pada materi Tata Surya.

Abstract

This study was motivated by the weak character of environmental love in elementary school students. This can be seen from the low concern for classroom cleanliness, waste management, and a lack of understanding of the importance of preserving the environment. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of visual literacy in forming and developing the character of environmental love in grade IV students at SDN 3 Rantepao. The method used is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental approach involving two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The results of the study showed that the application of visual literacy media such as environmental posters, infographics, and educational videos significantly increased students' awareness and behavior of environmental love. The main contribution of this study is to prove that visual literacy is not only a means of conveying information but also effective in forming students' character through an attractive and easy-to-understand visual approach. This study recommends the use of visual literacy as part of a character education learning strategy, especially the character of caring for the environment from an early age. The main contribution of this study is to prove that visual literacy is not only a means of conveying information, but also effective in shaping students' character through an attractive and easy-to-understand visual approach, which has been proven to increase the average knowledge about the environment by 26%, environmental care attitudes by 18%, and real actions in protecting the environment by 26% in students.

Abstract

This study explores the influence of children's literature—particularly Torajan folklore—on character education through an ethnopedagogic approach at SDN 3 Rantepao. Using a qualitative case study method, the research investigates how traditional stories such as Polopadang can foster core character values including honesty, hard work, gratitude, and cultural respect among sixth-grade students. Data were collected through interviews, classroom observations, documentation, and student questionnaires. The findings reveal that integrating local culture into learning activities significantly enhances students’ moral development and cultural identity. For example, students' understanding of honesty increased from 16% to 100%, and observable behaviors such as admitting mistakes and completing assignments honestly also improved. The ethnopedagogic approach proved effective in contextualizing moral values within the students' cultural environment, making character education more meaningful and impactful. This study affirms the importance of utilizing local wisdom in education to build character and preserve traditional heritage in the face of modern challenges.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi pembelajaran interaktif, khususnya augmented reality (AR), memberikan peluang strategis untuk meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan sains di sekolah. Urgensi penelitian ini didasarkan pada rendahnya pemahaman konsep peserta didik terhadap materi IPA yang bersifat abstrak, seperti gunung berapi, yang sulit divisualisasikan secara nyata melalui metode konvensional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan media pembelajaran augmented reality terhadap hasil belajar IPA peserta didik kelas VIII di SMP Kristen Sangalla’. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuasi eksperimen dengan desain Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Sampel penelitian terdiri atas 43 peserta didik kelas VIII yang terbagi dalam dua kelompok: kelompok eksperimen yang menggunakan media augmented reality dan kelompok kontrol yang menggunakan metode pembelajaran konvensional. Instrumen penelitian berupa tes hasil belajar berbentuk pilihan ganda yang telah divalidasi. Data dikumpulkan melalui pretest dan posttest, kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji Independent Samples t-test pada taraf signifikansi 0,05. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata nilai posttest kelompok eksperimen (82,06) lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (76,19). Peningkatan skor kelompok eksperimen mencapai 25,49 poin atau 45,05% dari skor awal, sedangkan kelompok kontrol meningkat 17,71 poin atau 30,29%. Uji t menghasilkan nilai p = 0,01 (< 0,05), yang berarti terdapat perbedaan signifikan antara kedua kelompok. Temuan ini juga menunjukkan bahwa media augmented reality dapat meningkatkan retensi materi, mengurangi miskonsepsi, dan memotivasi peserta didik. Kesimpulannya, penggunaan media pembelajaran augmented reality efektif meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA pada materi gunung berapi dibandingkan metode konvensional. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan integrasi augmented reality dalam pembelajaran IPA, khususnya pada materi yang memerlukan visualisasi kompleks, disertai pelatihan guru untuk pemanfaatan teknologi secara optimal.

Abstract

Urgensi dari penelitian ini adalah menjawab perkembangan teknologi digital yang menuntut inovasi dalam penyediaan bahan ajar yang lebih interaktif, fleksibel, dan sesuai dengan karakteristik peserta didik. Namun, pembelajaran di SMP Kristen Kandora masih didominasi oleh buku paket dan slide power point (PPT). Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini penting dilakukan untuk menghadirkan modul pembelajaran berbasis digital. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kebutuhan, desain, tingkat kevalidan, dan kepraktisan modul pembelajaran berbasis digital pada mata pelajaran Informatika kelas VIII di SMP Kristen Kandora. Model penelitian yang digunakan adalah Richey and Klein yang meliputi tiga tahap utama, yaitu planning (perencanaan), production (produksi), dan evaluation (evaluasi). Subjek penelitian meliputi ahli media, ahli materi, guru informatika, dan 29 peserta didik kelas VIII. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara, angket validasi, dan angket respon kepraktisan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa modul pembelajaran berbasis digital memperoleh tingkat validitas sebesar 85,55% (kategori sangat valid) dari ahli media dan 89,44% (kategori sangat valid) dari ahli materi. Uji kepraktisan menunjukkan hasil 85% dari guru dan 84,14% dari peserta didik, keduanya termasuk kategori sangat praktis. Modul yang dihasilkan memiliki keunggulan dalam aspek kemenarikan, kemudahan penggunaan, dan relevansi materi dengan kurikulum. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa modul pembelajaran berbasis digital yang dikembangkan valid digunakan sebagai alternatif media pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan motivasi dan pemahaman peserta didik.
