Abstract

The prevalence of falls among patients in hospitals around the world is still relatively high. Technology is needed to detect the incidence of patients falling in hospitals. The aim of this study is to analyze technology to detect patient fall in hospital settings. A systematic literature review was chosen as the research design. The databases used to search for literature include Google Scholar, Science Direct, PubMed, and Springer using keywords combined with Boolean operators. The selection of articles is based on several criteria including the publication year 2017-2021, full-text articles, the research setting in a hospital, articles in English, and articles that used research design qualitative, quantitative, and mix-method. The Articles found according to the criteria were 13 articles. The findings showed that there are two types of technology found in this review which are wearable devices and ambient sensor devices. Most of the technical procedure is by connecting the technologies with a wireless network and uploading the data to the server and only a few technologies measure directly. This review also found the advantages and disadvantages of these two types of technology. The health service provider can choose technology by considering the results of the analysis that has been carried out by considering the type of technologies, working procedures, advantages, and disadvantages of the technology so the health service provider can choose the appropriate technology in the hospital.

Abstract

The patient is the focus of nursing care, so interpersonal relationships between nurses and patients are needed. Caring behavior can create harmonious interpersonal relationships between nurses and patients. Nurses' caring behaviors are friendly and they always empathize with patients and their families. The study aimed to analyze the relationship between nurse caring behavior and nurse-patient interpersonal relationship in the inpatient room at RSU dr. H. KoesnadiBondowoso. The correlation method used was cross-sectional. The sampling technique applied total sampling with 104 nurses in the inpatient room. This study was analyzed using Kendall's tau-b because the two variables had ordinal scales. The results of Kendall's tau-b test showed that p-value = 0.025 (p less than 0.05) with a correlation coefficient of 0.221, which meant that the correlation of the two variables was positive as the strength of the relationship was weak. Nurses with caring behavior were 56 respondents (53.8%), and nurses with good nurse-patient interpersonal relationship quality were 62 (59.6%). This research is expected to be a policy framework for hospital management to improve quality services. Abstrak: Pasien merupakan fokus dari asuhan keperawatan, sehingga hubungan interpersonal yang baik antara perawat dengan pasien sangat dibutuhkan. Abstract

Encouraging a healthy lifestyle is importance for farmers, as it significantly influences their long-term well-being. Unfortunately, a considerable number of farmers engage in risky health practices, primarily due to their limited health literacy. This research delves into the intricate connection between health literacy and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among farmers residing in Tenggarang Urban Village, Bondowoso Regency. Our study employed a cross-sectional design, encompassing a sample of 90 farmers chosen through cluster random sampling. To assess health literacy, we employed the Health Literacy Short-Form Survey Questionnaire (HLS-EU-SQ10-IDN), designed for use in Indonesia. Additionally, we measured the extent of a healthy lifestyle using the Health Promoting Lifestyle Profile II (HPLP-II). For statistical analysis, we utilized Kendall’s Tau-b correlation test, with a significance level set at α < 0.05. Our findings unveiled that an impressive 78.9% of respondents exhibited commendable health literacy levels, with 60% demonstrating a strong dedication to leading a healthy lifestyle. Crucially, we identified a statistically significant and positive correlation between health literacy and the adoption of a healthy lifestyle among farmers (p value= 0.000 and r= 0.393). To further enrich this area of study, future research could delve deeper into the factors that influence health literacy and the facilitators encouraging the adoption of healthy lifestyle practices among farmers. Consequently, stakeholders are encouraged to formulate educational strategies aimed at bolstering health literacy within the farming community, coupled with a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing the adoption of healthy lifestyles to effectively enhance farmer well-being.

Abstract

Introduction: Cultural diversity means a different ethnic group in a country or region; these conditions bring different beliefs and understandings to health care and has an impact on the caring behaviour of nurses. Objective: To describe caring behaviour of nurses on patients in multicultural settings in hospitals. Methods: A Literature review and used 5 comprehensive electronic databases such as Google Scholar, PubMed, Science Direct, ProQuest and Garuda. Results: 10 articles used in this research, 3 themes were analysed, including: forms, barriers, and nursing care strategies for multicultural patients. Forms of nurse caring such as understanding and focus on patient, cultural sensitivity, and verbal and non-verbal communication. The caring barriers were ethnocentrism, conflicting perceptions, lack of cultural knowledge, language differences, inadequate hospital facilities, religious differences, patient family behaviour, ineffective coping, and body exposure. The strategies were providing translators, increasing education, organizational support, and improving coping strategies. Conclusion: The researcher concludes that when nurses do caring, they must pay close attention to the culture of the patient, and the strategies found in this study can be used to reduce the barriers that occur while nurses were caring for multicultural patients so that the patient does not feel different during health care.
