Abstract

Islam is a religion that guides people in life to always be guided. Islam also recognizes one of the natures of the human heart in the form of love. Discussions about love (mahabah) have been studied a lot, but not all of them focus on mahabbatullah. The themes discussed are an explanation of love towards fellow beings, such as spouse, family, property, and place of residence. Believers nowadays have a greater level of love for others than Allah and prefer worldly happiness to attain the love of Allah. In Tafsir Al-Jailani, written by Sheikh Abdul Qadir Jailani, the essence of love belongs only to and for Allah swt. This tafsir, it complements the explanation of mahabah written by other Sheikh Abdul Qadir, although the discussion in Tafsir Al-Jailani is less long and extensive. The characteristic of Tafsir Al-Jilani has a Sufi pattern and uses the ijmali method. In the sense of an interpretation, it cannot be separated from its scientific background, as well as Sheikh Abdul Qadir al-Jailani, in his interpretation, must have been influenced by Sufi thought. The method used in this research is descriptive analysis by systematically, factually, and accurately describing the phenomenon under study. The results of this research show that true love is love that flows to the owner of a majesty, namely Allah swt. Love for anything will be false if it is not aimed at Him. When the sense of compassion flows in every human being, it will give rise to behaviors that are inclined towards obedience in everyday life.

Abstract

The reputation of a pesantren is closely linked to its Leadership and the quality of its educational services. The Kiai plays a central role as a moral, spiritual, and social leader, while service quality reflects the institution’s ability to meet stakeholder expectations. This study aims to examine the influence of the Kiai’s figure and service quality on the reputation of Islamic boarding schools, both partially and simultaneously. This study used a quantitative, survey-based approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to 280 respondents; 224 valid responses were analyzed using simple and multiple regression tests using SPSS. The results of the study indicate that the figure of the kiai has a positive and significant influence on the reputation of Islamic boarding schools, with regression coefficients of 0.563 and 0.521 and a significance value of 0.000. Simultaneously, the figures for Kiai and service quality have a significant influence on the reputation of Islamic boarding schools (Sig. F = 0.000), explaining 41.4% of the variance in their reputation (Adjusted R² = 0.414). The standardized beta coefficient shows that the figure of the kiai (β = 0.448) has a more dominant influence than service quality (β = 0.368). The findings suggest that the synergy between strong religious Leadership and high-quality educational services shapes a pesantren's reputation. Therefore, strengthening the role of the kiai, along with continuous improvement in service quality, is crucial to maintaining the pesantren's reputation.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to empower the Qur'an literacy of elementary school students through the application of the Yanbu'a method based on play-based learning. The problem faced by the partners is the low interest in learning and reading skills of students due to conventional and monotonous learning. This community service program is implemented with a participatory approach through learning mentoring, teacher training, and direct application of the Yanbu'a method combined with educational play activities. The implementation method includes initial observation, program planning, implementation of learning activities, and evaluation of activity results. Data were obtained through observation of the learning process, teacher and student reflections, and activity documentation. The results of the community service show that the application of the Yanbu'a method based on play-based learning is able to gradually increase students' enthusiasm, active participation, and Qur'an reading skills. In addition, interactions between teachers and students become more communicative and the learning atmosphere is more enjoyable. This activity makes a positive contribution to improving the quality of Qur'an learning in elementary school and has the potential to become an applicable learning model that can be replicated in the context of Islamic basic educatio.

Abstract

Educators’ performance in Pesantren is often measured by the salaries they receive. The salaries of educators and administrative staff at Pesantren are often below the minimum wage. Thus, work motivation arises not from the fulfilment of biological needs, but from the operation of higher values of life’s meaning. This research aimed to understand the forms of pesantren-based work motivation and the factors that shape it. The research employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design to explore the forms of motivation rooted in Pesantren values that influence the commitment to work of teaching and educational staff. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis in traditional Pesantrens in East Java. Data analysis was carried out using MAXQDA. The research results showed that the forms of Pesantren-based work motivation consisted of ruhul jihad, sincerity of intention, management of responsibility, self-control, and spirit of service. The research results also showed that the factors that form Pesantren-based work motivation consisted of qasd al-Amal (intention to work), vertical and horizontal balance, tabarrukan, career sustainability and job security, and interpersonal connectedness. These values, deeply embedded in the Pesantren environment, contribute to a strong work commitment that is intrinsic and enduring.

Abstract

This study examines how school image management is combined with character education to strengthen students' social adaptation. The research uses a qualitative case study design. Data was collected through in-depth interviews with school leaders, teachers, and students. observation of learning activities in the classroom as well as daily school routines and review of institutional documents, including vision-mission statements, rules, institutional symbols, and student programs. The data were analyzed thematically through a process of reduction, coding, and interpretation, with the reliability of the findings strengthened using triangulation of sources and methods. The results of the study show that the main character values of discipline, religious attitudes, and togetherness are at the core of the school's identity and function as common social norms that shape the pattern of student interaction. Integration becomes effective when the claimed image is consistently enacted in teaching practices, religious routines, and non-academic activities. Continuous role modeling by principals, teachers, and staff stabilizes value transmission and accelerates internalization through habituation rather than coercive control. Consequently, students develop adaptive social behavior within a coherent and predictable environment. These results imply that public relations, quality management, and school culture should be designed as an integrated system so that external reputation reflects students’ lived experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of Kurt Lewin’s change management model to enhance digitalization in madrasah education while preserving Islamic principles. A qualitative case study design was employed to explore the contextual process of change. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis, and analyzed using an interactive model, which involves data condensation, reduction, presentation, and verification. The findings reveal that the Unfreezing stage involves the internalization of Islamic values within the digital consciousness of madrasah communities. The Changing stage reflects the integration of digital pedagogy and transformative leadership grounded in religious values. The Refreezing stage demonstrates the institutionalization of a digital-religious culture that defines the institution’s identity. These results indicate that combining Lewin’s change model with spiritual and cultural dimensions enhances both educational effectiveness and character development. The study implies that digital transformation in Islamic educational institutions can improve learning outcomes while reinforcing religious culture, offering a model for holistic digitalization in faith-based education.

Abstract

This study proposes a conceptual framework that articulates the philosophical resonance between the spiritual-ethical teachings of Tanbih by Sheik Abdullah Mubarok a foundational text of the Qadiriyyah–Naqshabandiyyah Suryalaya tradition and Indonesia’s Love-Based Curriculum (Kurikulum Berbasis Cinta, KBC), a recent policy initiative of the Ministry of Religious Affairs, in shaping spiritual and value-based Islamic educational leadership. Drawing on philosophical hermeneutics (Gadamer), the research conducts a comparative interpretive analysis of these two texts to examine how the values of divine love (maḥabbah) and moderation (wasaṭiyyah/tawāzun) inform leadership orientation, ethical authority, and institutional direction within Islamic educational settings. The analysis identifies four interrelated dimensions of educational leadership: (1) an ontological foundation of leadership grounded in relational unity through divine love; (2) an ethical framework that reconciles spiritual integrity and civic responsibility through balance and moderation; (3) a compassionate pedagogical leadership approach that deepens the KBC’s “connection before correction” principle through the Sufi discipline of adab; and (4) a service-oriented leadership orientation rooted in rendah babarengan (humility in togetherness), re-envisioned as institutional khidmah. This study contributes to the field of Islamic Educational Leadership and Management by reframing leadership not merely as administrative control, but as a spiritually grounded, value-based practice that integrates ethical governance, compassionate pedagogy, and institutional responsibility. While the framework is conceptual and untested empirically, it offers a hermeneutically grounded theoretical foundation for future action research and case studies in madrasahs and other Islamic educational institutions. The study further invites scholarly inquiry into how locally rooted spiritual epistemologies can inform contemporary educational leadership and policy without being reduced to instrumental or bureaucratic functions.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the internalization of anti-sexual violence education as a preventive strategy against risky sexual behavior among adolescents. The research employs a qualitative approach with a case study design to explore deeply the implementation process, strategies, and impacts within educational settings. Data were collected through observations, semi-structured interviews, and documentation, and analyzed using data condensation, data display, and verification techniques. The findings reveal that the internalization process, carried out through habituation, role modeling, and reinforcement, significantly enhances students’ awareness of personal boundaries, improves social interactions, and strengthens their ability to avoid risky behavior. In addition, supportive school environments and teacher involvement play crucial roles in the effectiveness of this process, although cultural barriers remain challenges. The study implies that integrating cognitive, affective, and behavioral dimensions in education is essential to achieve meaningful and sustainable behavioral change among adolescents, particularly in preventing sexual violence and promoting ethical conduct.
