Abstract

This study was conducted from May to June 2025 and aims to compare the feasibility and profitability of sugarcane farming between the Plant Cane (PC) and Ratoon Cane (RC) cultivation systems in Lemahabang District. The methods used include cost, revenue, and revenue analysis, as well as a number of economic indicators, namely Net Farm Income (NFI), Revenue-Cost Ratio (R/C), Benefit-Cost Ratio (B/C), Return on Investment (ROI), Break Even Point (BEP), and Net Profit Margin (NPM). The results of the analysis showed that RC farming has a lower average production cost and higher income than PC. The R/C (3.22), B/C (2.22), and high ROI on RC indicate that this system is economically more efficient and nominally profitable. However, the NPM for RC was negative (-18.74%), indicating the risk of losses to some farmers due to yield fluctuations or cost inefficiencies, while PC showed a positive NPM of 19.03%, reflecting the stability of profit margins. The results of the Mann–Whitney test showed that all indicators of feasibility and profitability differed significantly between the two systems (p < 0.05). Thus, RC systems are nominally superior but have higher risk, while PC systems are more stable in terms of profitability albeit with lower net profits. The selection of cultivation systems should be adjusted to the business objectives, managerial capacity, and risk tolerance of each farmer.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the process of planning and implementation of the Rice paddy farming extension program and to evaluate the effectiveness of the extension program. The methods and type of research used descriptive quantitative methods with survey techniques and a sample size of 40 rice farmers. The results showed: (1) The planning and implementation of extension programs in Suranenggala Kidul Village, Suranenggala District, Cirebon Regency involved two planning processes, namely the involvement of farmers in planning the extension programs and their involvement in decision-making, with an average score of 2.5. Meanwhile, for the implementation of extension programs, there were eight components with an average score of 2.71; and (2) The effectiveness of the planning and implementation of the extension program for paddy rice in Suranenggala Kidul Village, Suranenggala District, Cirebon Regency is categorized as effective. This is evidenced by farmer participation, timely implementation of extension programs, alignment of the programs with farmers' needs, appropriate duration, implementation according to targets, increased production, changes in the level of adoption by farmers, and the level of farmer satisfaction.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of agricultural extension methods on improving farmer capabilities in Kepuh Village, Palimanan District, Cirebon Regency. This study was conducted from June to July 2025. Farmer capabilities in this study were measured through four main indicators: agricultural insight, technical competence, decision-making ability, and attitude and independence.  The extension methods studied included direct face-to-face, field schools, demonstration plots, and digital media. This study used a quantitative approach with a census method on 50 farmers as respondents. The data analysis technique used simple linear regression preceded by validity and reliability tests, as well as classical assumption tests. The results showed that agricultural extension methods had a positive and significant effect on improving farmer capabilities. The regression equation obtained was Y = 48647.719 + 0.476X, which means that every one unit increase in the extension method will increase farmer capabilities by 0.476 units. The significance value was 0.001 (<0.05) and the coefficient of determination (R²) was 0.210. This indicates that 21% of the variation in farmer capabilities can be explained by the applied agricultural extension methods.

Abstract

Tanjung, located in Kenanga Village, Indramayu Regency. The research was conducted from May to July 2025 using a quantitative-descriptive approach through a case study method. Primary data were gathered via direct observation of the production process and in-depth interviews with the business owner, while secondary data were obtained from financial records, supporting documents, and relevant literature on agribusiness MSMEs. The research focuses on two main aspects: (1) Operational Feasibility, analyzed using indicators such as production capacity, production process, technology/equipment, and product quality; (2) Financial Feasibility, assessed through financial indicators including Revenue/Cost Ratio (R/C), Benefit/Cost Ratio (B/C), Break-Even Point (BEP), Return on Investment (ROI), and Net Present Value (NPV). The results show that the business operates smoothly by utilizing local raw materials and labor. Financially, it performs well, with monthly revenue of Rp1,056,000,000 and net profit of Rp747,106,708. The R/C ratio is 2.42, indicating that every Rp1 spent generates Rp2.42 in revenue. The BEP is 25.45 kg, far below the actual production of 24,000 kg per month, highlighting strong profitability. ROI stands at 242%, and the NPV is positive at Rp83,941,679,043, confirming long-term viability. The study concludes that Cap Sri Tanjung shrimp cracker business is both operationally and financially feasible. This research provides valuable insights for MSMEs in the agribusiness sector, suggesting strategies for sustainable growth and profitability based on operational efficiency and financial performance.
