Abstract

Technological innovation in the medical area is vital when the COVID-19 pandemic strikes, including in Indonesia. One of the essential innovations is a health facility for infection testing. Through the TFRIC-19 program, several Indonesian researchers have developed a mobile laboratory named Mobile Lab Biosafety Level 2 (MBSL2). MBSL2 is one of the medical innovations from the TFRIC-19 program as a measure to handle the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. TFRIC-19 is an innovation system initiated by government institutions in the RnD area. Establishing TFRIC-19 was the initial step in handling the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia. This research aims to identify the actor's role in developing MBSL2. The technique uses the Ecosystem Pie Model (EPM) approach for analysis. It was found that the most essential aspect of creating innovation is collaboration between involved actors.

Abstract

The national Youth Development Index (YDI) is still fluctuating. One of the provinces with a lower percentage change in YDI than expected is West Java, which is at the bottom of the list. This is ironic considering that 20% of Indonesia's total youth reside in West Java. In fact, during period 2018-2023, many programs were launched which focused on youth development, such as Patriot Desa. The presence of the Patriot Desa Program did not make the value of Youth Participation and Leadership increase. Therefore, this research aims to find out how the Patriot Desa Program impacts youth leadership development in West Java. The methodology used in this research is qualitative with a case study approach. The research was conducted in Sukaharja and Sukamakmur Village, Sukamakmur Sub-district, Bogor Regency. Data collection techniques through interviews the representatives of the West Java DPMD, Patriot Desa, village secretaries, youth organizations, and local champions. The program followed by young people who became Patriot Desas was able to have an impact on the development of individual and social leadership. In particular, the village patriots who served in the research locations were highly dedicated with a self-sacrificing attitude and always collaborated with various parties, so that they were able to bring about changes in the village in social, economic and environmental aspects. However, these things are also inseparable from the influence of pre-deployment orientation and the role of the regional coordinator who is very supportive as a mentor. Youth involvement in community empowerment programs can be a means of developing youth leadership. Therefore, the government needs to involve more youth in other programs so that there is an increase in the domain value of youth participation and leadership.

Abstract

This study analyzes the process of electronic services at the Surakarta City Land Office and the role of digital leadership in improving service quality. The research used a descriptive qualitative method with data obtained through in-depth interviews with 18 informants, observations, and document studies. Data triangulation is carried out to ensure the validity of the information. The results of the study show that electronic services, such as electronic mortgage (HT-El), elimination of Mortgage Rights/electronic roya (Roya-El), and electronic land registration certificate (SKPT-El) increase efficiency, transparency, and accuracy in the management of land services. Digitization is carried out gradually through the conversion of physical documents into electronic documents with encryption technology for data security. The electronic dashboard integrated with the Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency (ATR/BPN) allows for direct supervision, increasing accountability and accelerating services. The success of digitalization depends heavily on visionary digital leadership. The Head of Office not only acts as a decision-maker, but also as a driver of change, motivates employees, and builds external collaboration. This leadership creates a strong digital culture, strengthens relationships with stakeholders, and encourages a change in digital mindset. Innovations such as electronic certificates, Certificate Printing Platform, and the “Sentuh Tanahku” application improve the quality of electronic-based services, especially in the E-S-Qual and E-Recs-Qual dimensions, providing an efficient, transparent, and responsive experience for users.

Abstract

In the modern business world, socio-religiopreneurship is an approach that integrates Islamic values with business practices, creating a balance between economic profit and social benefits. As part of the Muhammadiyah Charity, PT Mentari Prima Niaga applies this concept in its business operations. This research aims to analyze the organizational communication strategy used by PT Mentari Prima Niaga in implementing socio-religiopreneurship to understand how communication can support the sustainability of Islamic value-based businesses. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a case study, where data is collected through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The results showed that PT Mentari Prima Niaga implemented a value-based communication strategy, two-way communication, and digital technology to improve organizational synergy. The main barriers in organizational communication include continually improving the understanding of Islamic values among employees, missing communication in the workplace, and sometimes the lack of effective communication channels in certain situations. The company overcomes these barriers through intensive training programs and strengthening internal communication procedures. The results of this study provide implications for companies that want to implement socio-religiopreneurship with effective communication strategies. In addition, this research also provides insights for Islamic-based business institutions in optimizing organizational communication to achieve economic and social welfare sustainably.

Abstract

Surakarta City has long been associated with religious radicalism, positioning it as a critical site for studying Islamic moderation in Indonesia. This study aims to explore how religious communities in Surakarta construct and negotiate a moderate Islamic identity through the use of symbols and narratives, in response to stigmatization as a center of extremism. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through in-depth interviews with nine religious leaders from various organizations, participatory observations, and analysis of religious documents and local media. Thematic coding and triangulation techniques were used to ensure analytical rigor and validity. The findings reveal that symbols such as traditional attire, inclusive religious rituals, and narratives rooted in local Islamic history are strategically mobilized to promote a peaceful and nationalist version of Islam. These symbolic strategies serve not only to legitimize the presence of moderate communities in public space but also to resist and counter radical stereotypes. The study demonstrates that Islamic moderation at the local level emerges through complex, deliberate cultural processes rather than passive adaptation. It contributes to the discourse on community-based religious moderation and provides empirical insights for culturally grounded deradicalization policies.

Abstract

Stunting is a significant health problem in Indonesia, particularly in rural areas. This study emphasizes the self-leadership of Babinsa (village supervisory non-commissioned officers)—as street-level actors—in stunting prevention in Indonesia. It aims to explore the role of village development non-commissioned officers (NCOs) of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), known as Babinsa, in stunting prevention efforts by examining how a self-leadership model can enhance their effectiveness in addressing this public health challenge. This study used a qualitative approach with a case study design, focusing on Babinsa in Magelang Regency, Central Java. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with key informants, including Babinsa, Posyandu cadres, village midwives, village officials, and families of stunting sufferers. Thematic analysis was used to identify key themes and insights from the data. The findings revealed that Babinsa (village-based non-commissioned officers) who applied self-leadership principles demonstrated increased adaptability in implementing stunting prevention strategies tailored to community needs. However, challenges such as bureaucratic constraints and limited resources impacted the effectiveness of these efforts. Collaboration between Babinsa, health workers, and community members proved crucial for successful interventions, highlighting the importance of cultural sensitivity and community engagement. The study concluded that implementing a self-leadership model by Babinsa could significantly improve their effectiveness in stunting prevention. Insights from this study can inform policymakers and practitioners in designing better training programs and support systems to reduce the prevalence of stunting in Indonesia.
