Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis potensi etnosains pada Masyarakat Asli Kecamatan Lore Utara sebagai sumber belajar fisika menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara mendalam kepada 2 Tokoh Adat, 2 Masyarakat, dan 5 Guru IPA/Fisika, serta dokumentasi. Penelitian berfokus pada unsur budaya lokal seperti alat musik tradisional (gendang/kanda dan suling/tulali), tarian daerah (tarian dondi), dan rumah adat (Sou tambi), yang dikaji berdasarkan kesesuaian nilai etnosains terhadap konsep IPA SMP dan Fisika SMA. Hasil penelitian kesesuaian etnosains dengan konsep fisika SMA/IPA SMP menunjukkan unsur budaya lokal berkaitan langsung dengan konsep getaran dan gelombang, resonansi, gaya dan gerak, Hukum Newton, Hukum Hooke Dan Elastisitas, Prinsip Bernoulli, tekanan serta perpindahan kalor. Berdasarkan penilaian tingkat potensi etnosains Kecamatan Lore Utara sebagai sumber belajar Fisika SMA/IPA SMP meliputi kriteria: relevansi kontekstual, keterkaitan dengan konsep fisika SMA/IPA SMP, nilai edukatif, ketersediaan dan keterjangkauan, kesesuaian kurikulum, serta potensi pengembangan media/modul menunjukkan budaya lokal masyarakat Lore Utara memperoleh rentang skor rata-rata 8,75-10,75 dengan tingkat Berpotensi-Sangat Berpotensi. Sehingga, budaya lokal masyarakat Lore Utara berpotensi untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber belajar yang tidak hanya memperkuat pemahaman konsep fisika, tetapi juga mendukung pelestarian budaya, peningkatan kualitas pendidikan berbasis lingkungan serta karakter lokal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya perbedaan keterampilan proses sains siswa yang diajar dengan alat peraga filter air menggunakan karbon aktif pada materi teknologi ramah ringkungan. Menggunakan metode eksperimen semu dengan desain non-equivalent control group. Penelitian ini melibatkan dua kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 4 Palu sebagai sampel. Yaitu Kelas VIII Bogenville sebagai kelas eksperimen yang menggunakan alat peraga filter air berbasis pipa, serta kelas VIII Seroja sebagai kelas kontrol dengan menggunakan alat peraga berbantuan botol. Instrumen penelitian mencakup tes keterampilan proses sains, Lembar kerja siswa, dan perangkat pembelajaran. Pengujian data dilakukan menggunakan metode Independent Sample t-Test pada skor posttest dengan taraf signifikansi 5% (α = 0,05). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa nilai Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0,000, sehingga lebih kecil dari 0,05. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa alat peraga filter air berbasis karbon aktif berbentuk pipa lebih efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa dibandingkan bentuk botol. Secara praktis, alat ini dapat digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran yang membantu siswa memahami konsep penyaringan secara lebih sistematis melalui pengalaman langsung. Secara pedagogis, penggunaan alat peraga yang interaktif mendorong kemampuan berpikir kritis dan pemecahan masalah. Oleh karena itu, pemilihan media pembelajaran yang tepat menjadi faktor penting dalam meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran sains.

Abstract

This study aims to develop Higher Order Thinking Skills -based Student Worksheets using the Problem Based Learning model to improve student learning outcomes. This research is a Research and Development study and uses the 4D (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate) development model. The developed student worksheets has been validated by media experts with a score of 89.50% and by subject matter experts, showing content feasibility of 83.45% and linguistic aspects of 91.42%. The results of the pilot test through a student response questionnaire obtained an average score of 82%, which indicates a very practical category. Meanwhile, student learning outcomes showed an average score of 57.96% with a moderate category. Thus, it can be concluded that the HOTS-based  student worksheets  using the Problem Based Learning model has been tested and is feasible for use as teaching material in physics practicums.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model on students’ conceptual understanding of physics in topics of thermodynamics, assisted by PhE Simulator media. The study employed a quantitative approach with Quasi-Experimental design of the One Group Pretest-Posttest type. The research sample consisted of 26 students from class XI C at MAN Tolitoli, and the instrument used was a multiple-choice test comprising 20 item with five answer options. The test was based on three indicators of conceptual understanding proposed by Bloom : translation, interpretation, and extrapolation. The descriptibe analysis results showed that the students’ average conceptual understanding scores increased from 41,15 in the pretest to 81,73 in the posttest. The normality test results indicated that the data were normally distributed, and the hypothesis testing using the Paired Sampel T-Test technique showed that calculated t-valude was greater than the critical t-value (11,55 ˃ 1,71), with a significance level of α = 0,05/ these findings indicated that the implementation of the Problem Based Learning model assisted by PhET is effective in improving the quality of physics learning, espeacially for abstract topics such as thermodynamics.

Abstract

Teachers have commonly utilized existing online educational games to create more engaging learning experiences. However, their digital competence in developing online educational games remains insufficiently developed. QuizWhizzer is one of the digital applications that can be used to create online educational games. Therefore, this community service program aimed to (1) train teachers to use the QuizWhizzer application in developing online educational games, (2) improve teachers’ digital competence, and (3) examine teachers’ responses to the training program. The participants consisted of 34 teachers from SMPN 6 Palu. The program was conducted through three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The training activities included lectures, demonstrations, and hands-on practice in using the QuizWhizzer application. The results showed that the average pre-test score of teachers’ digital competence was 53.33, while the average post-test score increased to 72.94, with a normalized gain score of 0.44. In addition, 94.12% of the participants successfully completed the practical assignment of developing online educational games using QuizWhizzer. The average score of teachers’ responses to the training was 4.65, indicating a highly positive perception. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that (1) the teachers were successfully trained to use QuizWhizzer for developing online educational games, (2) their digital competence improved at a moderate level, and (3) they expressed highly positive responses toward the training program.
