Abstract

This research focuses on the role of informal communication in building team cohesion and trust in non-profit organizations. This research explores the mechanisms behind spontaneous and unstructured interactions that support decision-making, conflict resolution, and collective performance. This topic is relevant in the era of dynamic work, where the success of organizations increasingly depends on interpersonal relationships and cross-functional collaboration. This study uses a qualitative method with a case study approach involving in-depth interviews, direct observation, and internal document analysis. Data was collected from team members with diverse roles and experiences, including project managers, field coordinators, administrative staff, and senior volunteers. The analysis process includes data reduction, presentation of data in thematic matrices, and verification through source triangulation. This approach provides an in-depth understanding of the dynamics that affect team cohesion and collective trust. The results show that informal communication increases team trust and cohesion. Team members who frequently engage in spontaneous conversations show a better understanding of common goals, can better resolve conflicts, and show higher trust. Well-documented organizational documents also help reinforce successful work patterns, ensuring the continuity of best practices. The implications of this study include the importance of creating a work environment that encourages informal communication and makes strategic use of organizational documentation. The study provides relevant insights for developing collaboration strategies in the workplace and offers a foundation for further research on interpersonal dynamics in organizations.

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyze the role of interpersonal communication and problem-solving strategies in improving the performance of foster parents in Islamic boarding schools. The main problem raised is the lack of effectiveness of foster parents due to communication barriers and internal conflict resolution. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method at the Nurul Jadid Islamic Boarding School in the Ar Rumi area. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and participatory observations of kyai, foster parents, and students. The results of the study indicate that the pattern of interpersonal communication between kyai and foster parents takes place in the form of routine and structured two-way interactions, with kyai as the provider of direction and foster parents as the reporter. Problem solving strategies through mediation and counseling have proven effective in creating a harmonious foster atmosphere. In conclusion, good interpersonal communication and the right problem solving approach significantly improve the readiness and performance of foster parents in fostering students. This study contributes to strengthening the foster management system in the Islamic boarding school environment.

Abstract

This study explores the strategic role of school leadership in implementing character education that promotes environmental awareness in a primary Islamic school in Indonesia. Conducted at SD Islam Siti Chodijah, Probolinggo, the research responds to the ongoing gap between formal learning and students’ environmental behavior, which often reflects weak implementation of character-based ecological values. Using a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design, this research investigates the lived experiences and strategies adopted by the principal to instill environmental character values. Key leadership strategies identified include the reinforcement of the school’s vision and mission, periodic teacher training, community and parental involvement, the application of fair reward and sanction systems, and routine monitoring and evaluation. Implementation is carried out through a series of school programs such as SENSE (healthy morning exercises), SIROSA (corridor literacy), WAKABIRRU (time for honoring parents), JUMBERKAH (clean and blessed Fridays), BUSPATA (proper waste disposal), and SERABI, KUKIS, METASEKA, and MEPISEKA—programs designed to cultivate personal and collective hygiene habits. The findings highlight that effective leadership is instrumental in integrating character education with daily school practices, bridging pedagogical vision with actionable programs. This research contributes to the discourse on school-based environmental character education and offers practical insights for education policymakers and practitioners in similar contexts.

Abstract

This research aims to delve into and describe the process of internalizing the values of Religious Education in enhancing tolerance among religious communities at SMPN 2 Sukasada. Using a qualitative approach, this study employs a qualitative descriptive method by collecting data through observation, interviews, and documentation. SMPN 2 Sukasada, Bali, was chosen as the research location, and the informants included the School Principal, Hindu Religious Education Teachers, and Islamic Religious Education Teachers. The process of internalizing the values of Religious Education is carried out through the teachers' role modeling, instilling a coexistence attitude, promoting good morals, and supporting activities such as flag ceremonies and religious celebrations. The research findings indicate that the internalization process of Religious Education values at SMPN 2 Sukasada reaches the stage of value transactions, where teachers engage in exemplification, habituation, and motivation to instill a tolerant attitude. Despite internalization efforts, challenges arise from spiritual teachers outside the school who use intolerant language, potentially leading to conflicts of intolerance. Students' understanding of culture is also limited, as seen in misunderstandings about traditional Balinese attire, which is considered specific to Hindus during prayer. Thus, this research emphasizes the importance of the internalization process of Religious Education values in the context of religious tolerance in schools, while also highlighting the need for a better understanding of culture and religious teachings as a preventive measure against intolerance. The school's Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Program (P5) is also presented as an alternative to connect Religious Education with social and cultural life in Bali.

Abstract

This research aims to explore the implementation of inclusive education in the context of religious education, especially at the Sabilillah Inclusion Islamic Boarding School, as well as identifying the challenges and strategies implemented to achieve it. The method used in this research is a qualitative approach with a case study at the Sabilillah Inclusion Islamic Boarding School. Data was obtained through interviews with the head of the Islamic boarding school, administrators, teachers and the surrounding community, as well as direct observation of the learning process and available facilities. The research results show that inclusive education at the Sabilillah Inclusion Islamic Boarding School is implemented with an approach that prioritizes equality and respect for differences. This Islamic boarding school provides equal opportunities for all students, including those with disabilities, to obtain quality religious education. However, the main challenges faced are the readiness of educators who are not sufficiently trained to manage inclusive classes, limited disability-friendly facilities, and the social stigma that still exists in society. This Islamic boarding school seeks to overcome these challenges by providing more accessible facilities, teaching tailored to individual needs, and using technology as a learning tool. This research concludes that inclusive religious education at the Sabilillah Inclusion Islamic Boarding School has succeeded in creating a more open and friendly learning environment for all students, although there are still several aspects that need to be improved. Community support and sustainable infrastructure development are very important to ensure the success of more optimal inclusive education.
