Abstract

Background: Hypertension or more often called high blood pressure is a condition when blood pressure exceeds normal limits, systolic blood pressure ≥140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure ≥90 mmHg. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of giving baked brownies with breadfruit flour and potato flour on the blood pressure of hypertension sufferers at the Pratama Derisman Clinic. Methods: This research consisted of 2 stages, the first stage used a non-factorial completely randomized design with a Pre Test - Post Test with Control Group Design research design. The sample in this study was 60 hypertension patients without complications, taken by purposive sampling. Data analysis used the Friedman test and t-dependent test, Results: Based on the results of research that has been conducted on hypertensive patients at the Derisman Primary Clinic, it can be concluded that the average systolic blood pressure of hypertensive patients who received Bronsunta and the consumption of antihypertensive drugs in the treatment group was 157.87 mmHg before treatment and 157.10 mmHg after treatment. The mean diastolic blood pressure was 93 mmHg before treatment and 90 mmHg after treatment. The average blood pressure of hypertensive patients who only consumed antihypertensive drugs in the comparison group was 157.67 mmHg before treatment and 157.23 mmHg after treatment. The mean diastolic blood pressure was 91 mmHg before treatment and 92 mmHg after treatment. This means that baked brownies with the addition of breadfruit flour and potato starch have an effect on lowering blood pressure in hypertensive patients. Conclusion: Based on the research results, it can be concluded that baked brownies with the addition of breadfruit flour and potato flour have an effect on reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients

Abstract

Latar Belakang : Diabetes Melitus merupakan penyakit metabolik kadar glukosa darah dalam darah tinggi (Hiperglikemia) yang disebabkan karena ketidak normalan sekresi insulin, fungsi insulin maupun keduanya. Tanda remaja dikatakan kadar glukosa tinggi yaitu sering merasa lapar, haus, sering buang air kecil , berat badan turun tanpa sebab yang jelas, merasa lelah yang konstan, penglihatan kabur, luka yang lama sembuhnya. Tujuan : Mengetahui faktor determinan glukosa darah pada remaja overweight dan obesitas di SMP N 7 Pangkalpinang. Metode : Riset ini bersifat deskriftif analitik dan memakai rancangan penelitian cross sectional korelasi antara variable independent dan variable dependen, dengan analisis data uji correlations. Hasil : Hasil penelitian bivariat pengaruh kadar glukosa darah dengan asupan energi baik 59,2% (p-value<0,001),protein lebih 82,89%(p-value<0,001) lemak kurang 64,5%(p-value<0,001), karbohidrat kurang 42,1%(p-value<0,001), serat kurang 75%(p-value<0,001), status IMT/U (p-value<0,001) overweight 85,5%, kadar glukosa darah sewaktu normal (<200 mg/dL) yaitu dengan angka minimum 69 mg/dL angka maksimum 215 mg/dL dan nilai rerata 100 mg/dL dari 76 responden 68 orang (89,2%) GDS nya normal. Kesimpulan : Terdapat korelasi positif antara asupan zat gizi makro dengan kadar glukosa darah.

Abstract

If the heart and blood vessels are disturbed, the body will also feel the effects. Cardiovascular disease is a disorder that occurs in the heart and blood vessels, which is quite common in society. Cardiovascular diseases include coronary heart disease, heart failure, hypertension, and stroke. To enhance knowledge and attitudes regarding cardiovascular diseases, one way to do so is through education. It is known that there is a difference in the impact of education using animated video media and leaflets on the knowledge, attitudes, and intake of cardiovascular patients at Siti Fatimah Az-Zahra Regional General Hospital. The type of research used is quantitative research employing a quasi-experimental design with a pretest and posttest arrangement for two groups. The results of this study indicate that there are differences in the average values before and after the intervention in knowledge (p=0.000), attitudes (p=0.000), protein intake (p=0.006), fat intake (p=0.000), and carbohydrate intake (p=0.000). However, there was no significant difference in average energy intake before and after the intervention (p=0.245). It can be concluded that there are differences in knowledge, attitudes, and nutritional intake among cardiovascular patients at Siti Fatimah Az-Zahra Regional Hospital.

Abstract

Remaja putri rentan terhadap terjadinya anemia. Anemia pada remaja putri akan memberikan dampak pada generasi berikutnya, seperti pendarahan saat kehamilan dan kemungkinan melahirkan anak dengan risiko stunting lebih besar dibandingan dengan yang tidak anemia. Selama ini pencegahan anemia pada remaja putri dilakukan di sekolah-sekolah dengan pemberian tablet tambah darah. Bagi remaja putri putus sekolah hal ini tidak bisa dilakukan Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk membentuk kader antianemia yang berasal dari remaja putri putus sekolah. Metoda yang dilakukan adalah dengan memberikan pelatihan. Remaja putri putus sekolah ini telah dilatih selama 2 hari tetang anemia, penyebab, dampak dan cara mencegah anemia. Kader yang dilatih sebanyak 10 orang dan setelah pelatihan ada peningkatan pengetahuan remaja putri putus sekolah.

Abstract

Kepuasan pasien adalah tingkat kepuasan yang dirasakan oleh pasien setelah menggunakan layanan kesehatan dan membandingkannya dengan harapan minimal yang diinginkan. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui gambaran tingkat kepuasan pasien dalam pelayanan makanan lunak di Rumah Sakit Islam Ar-Rasyid Palembang. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Januari - Mei 2024, dengan sampel sebanyak 38 orang diambil dengan cara accidental sampling. Metode penelitian Deskriptif. Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner dengan hasil data univariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketepatan waktu penyajian makanan sudah tepat sebesar 100%, responden menyatakan cita rasa makanan sudah baik sebesar 77,12%, sikap pramusaji sudah ramah sebesar 100%, penampilan pramusaji yang rapih 100%, kebersihan alat 100% sudah bersih dan kepuasan pasien terhadap pelayanan makanan sebesar 97,4%, hal ini membuktikan bahwa pelayanan makanan di Rumah Sakit Islam Ar-Rasyid Palembang sudah baik dan memberikan kepuasan pada pasien.

Abstract

Background: Low birth weight refers to a birth weight of less than 2500 grams (<5.5 lbs), irrespective of the gestational age.The risk of low birth weight increases with premature birth (<37 weeks), restricted fetal growth, or both, maternal malnutrition (anemia, etc.), maternal health problems, maternal characteristics (high/low maternal age, parity, poor pregnancy spacing). Research Objectives: to determine the factors associated with the incidence of LBW at Pelabuhan Palembang Hospital. Research method: This type of research is an observational research plan with a cross-sectional approach. The population is all mothers who gave birth and registered in the Pelabuhan Palembang Hospital Medical Records data in 2023, totaling 875 people. A sample of this research are 275 respondents was taken using a systematic random sampling technique. data analysis using the chi square test. The results of the study: The results of the statistical analysis show that there is a relationship between mother’s age (p value=0.001), parity (p value=0.000), gestational age (p value=0.000), anemia status (p value=0.016) with the incidence of LBW and there is no relationship between preeclampsia (p value =0.316) with the incidence of LBW. Conclusion: there is a relationship between age, parity, gestational age, anemia status and the incidence of LBW and there is no relationship between preeclampsia and the incidence of LBW. Abstract

Latar Belakang : Hiperkolesterolemia adalah peningkatan kolestrol total dalam darah, peningkatan pada kadar kolesterol datah dapat menyebabkan risiko penyakit kardiovaskular. di Sumatera Selatan, jumlah penderita kolesterol meningkat dari 35.902 menjadi 38.270 pada 2019. Penelitian di Palembang pada 2020 menunjukkan prevalensi kolesterol sebesar 14,9%. Tujuan: Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui faktor risiko obesitas sentral (lingkar perut), pola makan dan aktivitas fisik terhadap kadar kolesterol pada anggota brimob di satrbrimob polda sumsel. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian observasional dengan desain analitik. Metode survei digunakan dengan rancangan penelitian case-control. Populasi adalah semua anggota Brimob. Pengambilan sampel menggunkan simple random sampling, dengan 41 sampel case dan 41 sampel control. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat. Hasil : Hasil penelitian menunjukan lingkar perut ≥ 90 cm sebesar 77.8% (p- value = 0.002), asupan energi lebih 31.1% ( p-value = 220), protein lebih 60.0% (p- value = 0.000), lemak lebih 60.0 (p-value = 0.011), karbohidrat lebih 31.1% (p-value = 0.039), asupan serat kurang 80.0 % ( p- value = 0.001), dan aktivitas fisik (p- value = 0.001) . Saran : Perlu dilakukakannya edukasi terkait pola makan dan aktivitas fisik terhadap kadar kolesterol tinggi dalam jangka panjang. Background : Hypercholesterolemia is an increase in total cholesterol in the blood, which can lead to cardiovascular disease risks. In South Sumatra, the number of cholesterol sufferers increased from 35,902 to 38,270 in 2019. A study in Palembang in 2020 showed a cholesterol prevalence of 14.9%. Objective: The objective of this study is to determine the risk factors of central obesity (waist circumference), dietary patterns, and physical activity on cholesterol levels among Brimob members at Satbrimob Polda Sumsel. Method: This study is an observational research with an analytical design. The survey method was used with a case-control research design. The population includes all Brimob members. Sampling was conducted using simple random sampling, with 41 case samples and 41 control samples. Data analysis was performed univariately and bivariately. Result: The results showed that a waist circumference ≥ 90 cm was found in 77.8% (p-value = 0.002), excessive energy intake in 31.1% (p-value = 0.220), excessive protein intake in 60.0% (p-value = 0.000), excessive fat intake in 60.0% (p-value = 0.011), excessive carbohydrate intake in 31.1% (p-value = 0.039), insufficient fiber intake in 80.0% (p-value = 0.001), and physical activity (p-value = 0.001). Conclusion: Education on dietary patterns and physical activity is necessary to manage high cholesterol levels in the long term.

Abstract

Cancer remains a leading cause of death worldwide, with over 18 million new cases and nearly 10 million cancer-related deaths each year. As our understanding of cancer advances, the critical role of nutrition in cancer prevention, progression, and management has become increasingly evident. This review explores the multifaceted relationship between diet and cancer, focusing on the mechanisms through which dietary factors can influence cancer risk, including inflammation, oxidative stress, and metabolic pathways. Additionally, it highlights the impact of various nutrients and bioactive compounds found in foods, such as vitamins, minerals, and phytochemicals, on cancer prevention and therapy. The review also examines the importance of managing food-drug interactions in cancer treatment, particularly with chemotherapy, targeted therapies, and immunotherapies, where metabolic enzymes, such as cytochrome P450, play a significant role. By synthesizing the latest research, this review emphasizes the need for personalized nutrition strategies to optimize cancer care and improve treatment outcomes, underscoring the potential of nutrition as an integral part of cancer prevention and therapy.

Abstract

Breakfast or breakfast provides an important meaning for everyone to start the activity throughout the day. This activity is carried out until nine in the morning. Breakfast should be able to meet 15% to 30% of the total daily nutritional needs. Breakfast is expected to be able to realize a healthy, active and intelligent life (Hardinsyah, 2013). School-age children require good and sufficient intake of nutrients for activities, especially during breakfast (Susyani et al., 2014). In addition to adequate and balanced nutritional content, menu choices must be practical and varied from various types of food ingredients (Ministry of Health, 2013). Breakfast is beneficial for good school attendance, nutrient intake, academic achievement, fitness and a healthy weight (Hardinsyah; Perdana, 2013). Meanwhile, the impact of not eating breakfast on children has been shown to have an effect on academic achievement at school (Muchtar et al., 2011). There are various reasons why children skip breakfast, namely, long distance to school, late getting up in the morning, not in taste, not used to or afraid of being late for school (Mardiana, et al, 2013; Irianto in Ristiana, 2009). The habit of not eating breakfast results in a decrease in blood sugar levels (hypoglycemia) so that the energy supply decreases, if this happens continuously it causes the body to tremble, get tired quickly and decrease motivation to learn (Wardoyo; Mahmudiono, 2013). According to Hardinsyah (2012) in Briawan, et al (2013), it is recorded that 20%-40% of Indonesian children do not eat breakfast every day. Hardinsyah and Aries (2012), stated that 44.6% of school-age children consume low-quality breakfast, which is below 15% of the daily nutritional adequacy. Lack of knowledge about the importance of eating breakfast in children is one of the factors that cause children to ignore breakfast (Notoatmodjo, 2012). Nutrition education needs to be given in order to achieve health behavior (Healthy Behavior). Based on the above background, it is necessary to provide counseling and examples of providing breakfast for school children.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease with increasing prevalence in Indonesia, including Pangkalpinang City. Risk factors can be controlled through diet, one of which is the DASH diet. Education using leaflets is needed to improve the knowledge, attitudes, and dietary patterns of hypertensive patients. The aim was to determine the effect of DASH education using leaflets on knowledge, attitudes, dietary patterns, and blood pressure of hypertensive patients in Bukit Besar Village. This pre-experimental study used a one-group pretest-posttest design. The population was 921 patients with hypertension. The sampling technique was simple random sampling of 96 people with hypertension in Bukit Besar Village, Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Province. Analyzed using SPSS version 17 for Windows with a Paired Sample t-test. The results of DASH education using leaflets on knowledge (0.000), attitudes (0.000), dietary patterns (0.000), systolic blood pressure (0.000) (<0.05), and diastolic blood pressure 0.545 (>0.05). There is an effect of DASH education using leaflets on knowledge, attitudes, eating patterns, and systolic blood pressure of hypertensive patients .There is no effect of DASH education using leaflets on diastolic blood pressure of hypertensive patients. Hypertensive patients in Bukit Besar Village, Pangkalpinang City, Bangka Belitung Province.are expected to apply the DASH diet in their daily lives, manage stress, and maintain rest. Increased education, monitoring, and routine blood pressure checks are needed to prevent the high prevalence of hypertension.
