Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Golkar, Keterwakilan, KPPG, Perempuan ABSTRACT This study analyzes the dynamics of women's representation in the Golkar Party, focusing on the role and strategy of the Golkar Party Women's Unity (KPPG) wing organization. Although there has been an affirmative policy in the form of a 30% quota for women in legislative nominations, its implementation in the party's internal structure has not been fully optimal. This study uses a qualitative descriptive approach based on literature studies with Hanna Pitkin's theory of political representation and Anne Phillips' theory of political presence. The results of this study indicate that KPPG plays an important role in cadre formation, political education, internal advocacy, and the formation of strategic networks to strengthen women's positions in the Golkar Party. KPPG's strategies such as leadership training, mentoring, and gender quota advocacy have resulted in an increase in the number of female legislators from this party. However, significant challenges are still faced, including patriarchal culture, male elite dominance, limited access to political and financial resources, and resistance to internal change. This study emphasizes that women's representation is not only about quantity, but also quality and strategic position in political decision-making. Therefore, KPPG needs to continue to strengthen its institutional base and expand its advocacy strategy in order to realize substantive women's representation in the Golkar Party. Abstract

This study aims to analyze how Kompas.com frames mobilization within the Social Movement Action of August 28–29, 2025. The study examines media construction through a framing analysis approach using four Kompas.com articles that implicitly address mobilization processes, action dynamics, and the actors involved. The data consist of online news texts selected based on their relevance to the issue of mass mobilization. The analysis identifies the structure of news discourse through the elements of diagnostic framing, prognostic framing, and motivational framing to understand how the media define problems, present solutions, and construct collective motivation in the context of social movements. The results show that mobilization by labor groups and university students is framed as a legitimate response to structural issues, while student mobilization is framed as a potential disruption that needs to be prevented. The structure of the coverage highlights differing emphases on actors deemed responsible, ranging from the government and police apparatus to organizers of protest calls. The main finding of this study indicates that Kompas.com consistently assigns different levels of legitimacy to mobilization based on group identity and underscores the media’s role in shaping public perceptions of social movements.

Abstract

Various lives in society can greatly influence many aspects and fields in Indonesia. One of them is the patriarchal culture which is deeply rooted and influences the lives of women as one of the groups who are always looked down upon and always placed under men. Society considers that women do not have special abilities above men and cannot do many things without men. But the reality is that women can do more than society can imagine. The discussion of the case study above proves that there were minimal wins for women in the election of legislative candidates in the DPRK seat of Bener Meriah Regency in 2019. This district, which is still in the shackles of patriarchy, is trying to increase women's participation in political life even though in the end it still lost the election of its legislative candidates in 2019. This proves that patriarchal culture is still inherent in Indonesia and requires legal reform from the government to help voice the rights of women who want to sit in legislative seats and government agencies.

Abstract

This study investigates the phenomenon of quasi-social movements that emerged during the August 25, 2025 protests in Indonesia. Quasi-social movements are defined as forms of public mobilization that appear to arise spontaneously, lack formal organizational structures, and are often leveraged for particular political agendas. Using a qualitative method supported by literature review, this research examines social movement theories, the functions of social media, and the socio-political dynamics that shaped the protests. The findings indicate that the protests were not purely the result of spontaneous civic engagement, but were instead driven by top-down mobilization orchestrated by elite actors through digital narratives, disinformation, and the broader influence of communication technology. This phenomenon signals a shift in the relationship between citizens and the state, including evolving patterns of political participation that do not always follow organized forms. The protests further illustrate how mass mobilization in the digital era can be generated through narrative construction and manipulation of public perception. In conclusion, quasi-social movements represent a new pattern of technology-mediated political expression, highlighting the need for more critical perspectives on modern forms of social mobilization.
