Abstract

Abstract

The rapid development of e-commerce has transformed student consumption behavior, with Shopee becoming one of the most popular platforms due to its ease and speed of service. However, despite this convenience, many users still do not understand their rights as consumers, particularly regarding product authenticity, refund policies, and personal data privacy. This study aims to analyze students' level of understanding of government regulations regarding consumer protection in transactions on the Shopee platform. The method used was descriptive qualitative, with data collected through surveys and in-depth interviews with one hundred active Shopee student users from four universities in Bandar Lampung. The results showed that only 30% of respondents had a good understanding of consumer protection policies, while the other 70% still had little understanding. These findings indicate low legal and digital literacy among students as digital consumers, which makes them vulnerable to fraud and unfair business practices. This study concludes that improving digital and legal literacy for consumers is necessary to enable them to protect their rights independently. In addition, the government and e-commerce platforms need to strengthen regulations, public education, oversight, and collaboration in creating a fair and secure digital transaction ecosystem.

Abstract

Climate change poses a significant threat to Indonesia’s coastal communities as rising sea levels, coastal flooding, saltwater intrusion, and declining marine resources disrupt livelihoods and settlement security. Coastal villages in Java, characterized by dense populations and dependence on fisheries and agriculture, provide an important setting to understand local adaptive strategies. This study examines how these communities respond to climate pressures by integrating traditional knowledge, socio-cultural resilience, and institutional support. A qualitative case study design was combined with descriptive surveys involving 420 respondents in four villages. Data collection included semi-structured interviews, focus group discussions, household surveys, and field observations. Thematic analysis was used to interpret qualitative insights, while descriptive statistics illustrated major adaptation trends. Findings indicate that climate impacts are predominantly experienced through coastal flooding (72%), reduced fish catches (68%), and saltwater intrusion (61%). Common adaptation practices include mangrove planting (70%), adjusting fishing seasons (62%), and elevating houses (55%). Support from government and NGOs is visible in mangrove rehabilitation (65%) and preparedness training (58%), yet remains limited in financial assistance (40%) and access to climate information (45%). Overall, communities exhibit resilience rooted in solidarity and local wisdom, but adaptation is still hindered by economic constraints and insufficient long-term institutional support.

Abstract

Abstract

Purpose – This study uses the price of gold as a moderating variable to investigate how inflation, the BI Rate, and the rupiah exchange rate affect murabahah funding at Islamic commercial banks between 2015-2024. Methodology – The impact of independent variables on the dependent variable is investigated in this study using quantitative methods and multiple linear regression. The moderating variable is tested using moderation regression analysis. Findings – According to the study, murabahah finance is positively affected by inflation and the rupiah exchange rate, but not by the BI Rate. Based on the moderation regression test results, gold prices can mitigate the effects of inflation on murabahah finance, but they cannot mitigate the effects of the rupiah exchange rate or the BI Rate. Implications – Islamic banks should pay more attention to changes in inflation and exchange rates when managing murabahah financing. They should continue emphasizing the benefits of the fixed margin system, which does not depend on interest rates. Future research is expected to incorporate additional variables that reflect internal banking dynamics and broader macroeconomic conditions. Originality – The originality of this research is, first, the research period on murabahah financing over the past 10 years, which will certainly yield different findings due to the different time frame used. Second, the price of gold has not been examined as a moderating factor for murabahah financing in Islamic commercial banks.
