Abstract

The low level of public awareness regarding household waste management is a major concern in this community service activity. The impact of poor waste management includes a decline in environmental quality, increased risk of disease, and soil and water pollution. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of the community in managing organic and inorganic waste through training and mentoring. The target community is Gampong Meunasah Blang, Ingin Jaya Sub-district, Aceh Besar District. The activity was implemented using a participatory approach, including education, demonstrations on processing organic waste into compost, and the formation of an independent waste management group. The results of the activity showed an increase in community understanding of waste management and the formation of an active waste management group. This activity has had a positive impact, improving the quality of the surrounding environment and fostering collective awareness among the community to maintain village cleanliness.

Abstract

This study explores high school students' perceptions and awareness of human rights violations (HRV) on social media. Using a mixed-method approach involving interviews and questionnaires with 100 students from five schools in Pekanbaru, the research reveals that the majority of students recognize various HRV issues such as hate speech, cyberbullying, discrimination, and privacy violations, and understand their impacts. Approximately 75% of students feel responsible to report HRV incidents, though some hesitate due to fear or perceived helplessness. While most students are familiar with the term HR, only 60% can accurately define protected rights like privacy and freedom from bullying. The average awareness score is 7.5 out of 10, influenced by socio-economic background and parental education. Findings indicate that 70% have witnessed hate speech, 55% have experienced or observed cyberbullying, and 60% acknowledge that spreading hoaxes infringes on the right to information. A significant majority (85%) agree that HR education should be integrated into school curricula. Despite high awareness levels, students' understanding of the boundaries and consequences of digital expression remains limited, highlighting the need for ongoing educational interventions and curriculum development in digital ethics and human rights. The study emphasizes the importance of continuous literacy programs and recommends further research with broader geographic scope and qualitative methods to deepen understanding.

Abstract

Judgments that cannot be fully executed are frequently encountered in civil service disputes. Rehabilitation obligations are often hindered by changes in circumstances, which have consequently given rise to the notion of compensation. Determining compensation amounts also faces challenges, particularly due to tensions between legal norms and practical realities. This study pursues two main objectives: first, to examine the criteria that characterize judgments that cannot be fully executed, and second, to describe the implementation of compensation as a substitute mechanism in such cases. The research adopts a normative legal methodology utilizing statutory and conceptual approaches. The findings lead to two primary conclusions: first, judgments that cannot be fully executed are identified in cases where rehabilitation obligations in civil service disputes face specific obstacles, including (1) the plaintiff’s legal status no longer qualifying them to return to their former position; (2) the plaintiff’s position having been filled by another person; and (3) changes in the organizational structure. Second, the implementation of compensation is based on actual losses suffered by the plaintiff resulting from a State Administrative Decision that was declared invalid by the court. The amount of compensation is determined through an agreement between the plaintiff and the defendant. If such an agreement cannot be reached, the chief judge of the administrative court is authorized to determine a fair amount of compensation in accordance with the principles of propriety and reasonableness. The study highlights the need for procedural reform to address the gap between legal provisions and their practical application in executing administrative court judgments.

Abstract

Descriptive qualitative design is used in this study to describe the understanding of students and teachers in schools about bullying, as well as the construction of bullying prevention ideas through bullying awareness card learning media. The location of the study was in Dumai, by interviewing several students and teachers in schools. The results of the study showed that (1) students and teachers have diverse understandings and perspectives on bullying; (2) the absence of learning media that supports the campaign and socialization of bullying behavior in schools so far. Preventive steps can be taken through bullying awareness card learning media which is a card game media that contains material on the concept, how to prevent and handle bullying in schools. This study recommends that schools use bullying awareness card learning media in integrated subjects with character education such as citizenship education, guidance and counseling and religious education. This is intended to develop students' civic virtue so that they become tolerant and compassionate citizens in diversity.
