Abstract

This research aims to equip the Stofo community with the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively use the 3D Max application for comic creation. The goal is to empower participants with not only the technical skills but also the mindset needed to utilize this 3D modelling software effectively. This is crucial because 3D modelling plays a pivotal role in the global comic creation industry. By mastering 3D modelling, Stofo comic artists can produce comic chapters and explore various aspects of industrial design and web tone in the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Society 5.0. The method of this research is a qualitative approach involves instilling an understanding of the significance of learning 3D modelling and offering step-by-step tutorials within a computer lab. All participants will receive gradual instruction, starting with the basics of the 3D Max application, including commonly used tools and the creation of simple 3D models. The outcomes of this endeavour demonstrate that: (1) participants exhibit a strong interest in using 3D modelling for comic creation after receiving growth mindset theory; (2) they can produce fundamental 3D models for comic backgrounds with five (5) at high level, six 6 at intermediate level, and nine (9) at beginner level; and (3) they are enthusiastic about honing their 3D modelling skills for comic purposes. Therefore, It is crucial to empowers the Stofo community with 3D modelling skills and mindset, fostering creativity and potential in the realm of comics and design.

Abstract

The design of an illustrated book about Toraja carvings has become a necessary effort to preserve and introduce the cultural heritage of the Toraja Regency. Toraja is one of the regions in Indonesia that possesses an extraordinary wealth of culture, one of which is the traditional wood carving art known as Pa’sura’, which is rich in philosophical and aesthetic values. This design project employs the Research and Development (R&D) method with the 4D development model approach: Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate. In the Define stage, it involves identifying needs, analyzing data/information, and setting development objectives for the design. The Design stage includes visual planning, layout design, and the creation of visual concepts that depict the culture and traditions of the Toraja people. The Development stage focuses on creating a prototype of the illustrated book and validating it through feedback from cultural and design experts. In the final stage, Disseminate, the book is distributed through both print and digital platforms to reach a wider target audience. The outcome of this project is expected to produce an illustrated book that provides readers with a deep understanding of Toraja carving art and enhances appreciation for local cultural arts. This book is intended not only as an educational medium but also as a means of promoting Toraja culture at the national level.

Abstract

This study examines Abdurrahman Wahid’s (Gus Dur) thought on humanism as a foundation of political ethics in the relationship between the state and religion. The aim of this research is to explain how humanism in Gus Dur’s intellectual framework functions as a moral principle that both limits state power and prevents religion from being instrumentalized as a source of political legitimacy. Employing a qualitative approach, this study applies textual analysis to Gus Dur’s major works, particularly “Tuhan Tidak Perlu Dibela” and “Islamku, Islam Anda, Islam Kita”, supplemented by secondary literature. The findings indicate that Gus Dur conceives the state as a worldly institution whose primary responsibility is to safeguard human dignity, social justice, and freedom of religion, without intervening in the domain of theological truth. In this framework, religion serves as a source of ethical values rather than as a state ideology. The novelty of this study lies in articulating Gus Dur’s theistic humanism as a political-ethical framework that rejects both religious formalism and extreme secularism, thereby offering a mediating perspective for governing public life in a plural society. This study underscores the continued relevance of Gus Dur’s thought for strengthening inclusive political ethics in contemporary Indonesia.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the increasing prevalence of self-injury behavior among adolescents and the limited research within alternative educational settings such as Sekolah Rakyat. The aim of this study is to describe self-injury behavior among students at Sekolah Rakyat Menengah Pertama (SRMP) 24 Gowa. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed using total sampling involving 105 seventh-grade students. Data were collected through a self-injury scale that has been tested for validity and reliability, which revealed that almost half of adolescents (46.5%) had committed self-injury in the past year, with 28% of them categorized as moderate to severe. and supported by interviews. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics. The results indicate that the level of self-injury is in the high category, with a mean score of 3.41. The most common behaviors were minor self-injury, such as hitting oneself and picking at wounds, while a small proportion engaged in major self-injury, such as cutting. Contributing factors include emotional instability, maladaptive beliefs, peer influence, and family background. These findings highlight that self-injury serves as a maladaptive coping mechanism. Therefore, preventive interventions through counseling services focusing on emotional regulation and cognitive restructuring are essential.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze emotional wounds and psychological resilience in the novel Broken Strings by Aurellie from a non-romanticization perspective, as well as to examine its implications for guidance and counseling. The study employed a qualitative approach using qualitative content analysis. The data consisted of textual excerpts from the novel representing emotional wounds, toxic relationships, psychological impacts, and resilience processes. Data were collected through document study with in-depth reading, while data analysis was conducted through thematic categorization and interpretation based on psychological and guidance and counseling perspectives. The findings reveal that emotional wounds in the novel stem from insecure family relationships and toxic interpersonal relationships, which lead to feelings of helplessness, fear, and emotional numbness. However, the main character demonstrates a process of resilience through self-awareness, assertiveness, social support, and the ability to reframe experiences adaptively. This study emphasizes the importance of a non-romanticization perspective in understanding emotional wounds and highlights its implications for guidance and counseling in strengthening emotional literacy, promoting healthy relationships, and developing psychological resilience.
