Abstract

Unbeknownst to many, a child's character does not develop spontaneously; instead, it undergoes a process that involves specific phases, particularly during early development, especially for young children. Parental attention in shaping a child's character during this period is crucial. In forming the character of young children, the environment and the family role-play a significant influence. This research employs a qualitative descriptive method to explore this process. In this article, the researcher examines the process of forming the character of young children, focusing on three main elements: family, school, and community. The research findings indicate that the formation of the character of young children begins with the family, is further influenced by the school, and involves the role of the community, including play communities and talent development courses attended by young children. Nevertheless, the family remains the primary and foremost factor in the process of shaping a child's character, being the most minor and highly influential community for them.

Abstract

Language learning in elementary schools plays a crucial role in developing students’ literacy, communication, and critical thinking skills. However, traditional teaching methods often fail to engage students effectively, leading to decreased motivation and suboptimal learning outcomes. This study investigates the effectiveness of using educational games as an innovative approach to enhance Indonesian language learning among elementary school students. A quasi-experimental research design with a pre-test and post-test control group was employed. The study involved 60 students, divided into an experimental group that used educational games and a control group that followed conventional learning methods. Data were collected using language proficiency tests, student motivation questionnaires, and teacher observations. These results indicate that educational games are effective in creating an interactive and enjoyable learning environment. The study concludes that incorporating educational games into language instruction can enhance learning outcomes and student motivation, providing valuable insights for teachers and curriculum developers.

Abstract

Pengembangan papan informasi dan signage di objek wisata alam merupakan kebutuhan mendasar untuk meningkatkan kualitas pengalaman pengunjung sekaligus memperkuat fungsi edukasi dan konservasi. Kebun Botani “Denassa” sebagai destinasi wisata berbasis lingkungan masih menghadapi kendala berupa keterbatasan informasi visual, ketidaktepatan istilah flora dan fauna, serta penggunaan bahasa yang kurang efektif dan persuasif. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan menyusun papan informasi dan signage yang komunikatif, informatif, dan sesuai kaidah bahasa Indonesia. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif melalui survei lokasi, pengumpulan data flora dan fauna, penyusunan teks, diskusi revisi, serta pendampingan produksi papan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan teridentifikasinya empat zona utama yang membutuhkan papan informasi, penyusunan teks dengan struktur kalimat efektif dan ketepatan istilah ilmiah, serta penerapan bahasa persuasif untuk mendorong perilaku konservatif. Selain itu, integrasi kearifan lokal dalam konten papan memberikan nilai tambah edukatif dan memperkuat identitas budaya. Evaluasi menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman pengunjung, berkurangnya kebingungan arah, dan perubahan perilaku positif terkait kebersihan serta pelestarian lingkungan. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa penerapan prinsip kebahasaan dan desain visual berperan penting dalam optimalisasi fungsi informasi di kawasan wisata alam.

Abstract

Kemampuan literasi siswa ditinjau dari gaya belajar siswa sangat penting untuk keberhasilan belajar siswa. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menganalisis kemampuan literasi siswa, gaya belajar siswa, serta menguji hubungan antara tingkat kemampuan literasi dan gaya belajar siswa di UPT SPF SDN Garuda. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode deskriptif korelasional. Teknik analisis data meliputi statistik deskriptif data, uji validitas dan reliabilitas untuk memastikan kualitas instrumen, uji korelasi pearson spearman untuk hubungan gaya belajar dan literasi, serta pengujian hipotesis untuk menguji hubungan antara variabel penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi siswa kelas VI di UPT SPF SDN Garuda secara umum pada tingkat baik, diketahui literasi berpikir kritis yang paling menonjol dibandingkan literasi membaca dan literasi menulis. Gaya belajar siswa cenderung pada gaya visual, diikuti auditori dan kinestetik, menunjukkan ketertarikan yang lebih tinggi terhadap penyajian informasi berbasis visual. Selain itu, terdapat hubungan positif yang signifikan dengan kekuatan sedang antara gaya belajar dan tingkat kemampuan literasi siswa, yang menegaskan bahwa gaya belajar berkontribusi secara signifikan terhadap kemampuan literasi siswa. Diperlukan metode pembelajaran adaptif yang mengakomodasi gaya belajar siswa dan media visual untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan serta kemampuan literasi siswa.  Students‘ literacy skills in terms of students’ learning styles are very important for students' learning success. The purpose of this study was to analyse students‘ literacy skills, learning styles, and to examine the relationship between students’ literacy skills and learning styles at UPT SPF SDN Garuda. This research used a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational method. Data analysis techniques included descriptive statistics, validity and reliability tests to ensure the quality of the instrument, Pearson Spearman correlation test for the relationship between learning styles and literacy, and hypothesis testing to test the relationship between the research variables. The results showed that literacy skills of grade VI students at UPT SPF SDN Garuda were generally at a good level, with critical thinking literacy being the most prominent compared to reading literacy and writing literacy. Students' learning styles tended to be visual, followed by auditory and kinesthetic, indicating a higher interest in visual-based presentation of information. In addition, there was a significant positive relationship with moderate strength between learning styles and students‘ literacy levels, confirming that learning styles contribute significantly to students’ literacy skills. Adaptive learning methods that accommodate students‘ learning styles and visual media are needed to improve students’ engagement and literacy skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menganalisis peran pembelajaran reflektif dalam menumbuhkan kemampuan literasi. Untuk  menganalisis peran  kemampuan literasi pada murid kelas V UPT SPF SD Negeri Mawas Kota Makassar. Pembelajaran reflektif merupakan model pembelajaran di mana bertujuan untuk mencapai pemahaman tertentu. Selain itu kesiapan serta minat dalam mempelajari materi tersebut juga meningkat karena hal yang akan dipelajari berasal dari pengalaman pribadi siswa. Di mana pembelajaran reflektif telah diakui sebagai salah satu model pembelajaran yang efektif dapat menumbuhkan kemampuan literasi  diri siswa. UPT SPF SD Negeri Mawas menerapkan model pembelajaran reflektif agar dapat menumbuhkan kemampuan literasi  dan mampu merefleksi pembelajaran mereka. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VA dengan kelas VB dengan total sampel 42 siswa. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi metode observasi untuk mengoptimalkan data mengenai pelaksanaan pembelajaran reflektif, interaksi guru dan siswa dalam kegiatan belajar mengajar, keadaan sarana dan prasarana yang dapat menunjang kegiatan belajar mengajar, sera keadaan siswa,guru, dan tenaga kependidikan di UPT SPF SD Negeri Mawas Kota Makassar, metode wawancara untuk menggali data terkait pelaksanaan pembelajaran reflektif, metode dokumentasi untuk menggali data berupa modul ajar,buku acuan pembelajaran reflektif, foto-foto dokumenter. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Peran model pembelajaran reflektif efektif dapat menumbuhkan kemampuan literasi siswa UPT SPF SD Negeri Mawas Kota Makassar. Penerapan pembelajaran reflektif memberikan pengalaman belajar yang menarik dan relevan mendorong siswa untuk terlibat aktif dalam pembelajaran dan mengembangkan keterampilan berpikir kritis mereka. This study aims to describe and analyze the application of reflective learning in fostering literacy, to find out and analyze what affects literacy and confidence skills in grade V UPT SPF SD Negeri Mawas, Makassar City. In addition, readiness and interest in learning the material also increased because what will be learned comes from the students' personal experience. Where reflective learning has been recognized as one of the effective learning models that can grow students' literacy. UPT SPF SD Negeri Mawas applies a reflective learning model in order to foster literacy and confidence skills and be able to reflect on their learning. This research uses a qualitative approach. The sample in this study is Class V students with a total of 42 students. The instruments used include observation methods to optimize data regarding the implementation of reflective learning, teacher and student interactions in teaching and learning activities, the state of facilities and infrastructure that can support teaching and learning activities, as well as the state of students, teachers, and education staff at UPT SPF SD Negeri Mawas, Makassar City, interview methods to explore data related to the implementation of reflective learning, documentation methods to explore data in the form of teaching modules, Reflective Learning Reference Book, Documentary Photos. The results of the study show that the application of reflective learning can significantly grow literacy. Students are shown by the reading comprehension test scores on the posttest. An effective reflective learning model can foster literacy in students of UPT SPF SD Negeri Mawas, Makassar City.The application of reflective learning provides an interesting and relevant learning experience, encouraging students to be actively involved in learning and develop their critical thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh media pembelajaran berbasis audiovisual terhadap minat dan hasil belajar siswa UPT SPF SD Negeri Sumanna Kota Makassar. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Quasi Eksperimental. Sampel penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas II UPT SPF SD Negeri Sumanna Kota Makassar, yang terdiri dari kelas II-A sebanyak 26 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen, dan kelas II-B sebanyak 23 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah angket untuk mengukur minat belajar dan tes untuk mengukur hasil belajar. Data dikumpulkan melalui pretest dan posttest. Sedangkan teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi analisis statistik deskriptif dan analisis statistik inferensial. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan media pembelajaran berbasis audiovisual secara signifikan meningkatkan minat belajar siswa. Siswa menunjukkan perasaan senang, ketertarikan dalam belajar, perhatian saat belajar, dan keterlibatan yang lebih aktif dalam kegiatan pembelajaran. Hasil belajar peserta didik juga meningkat secara signifikan, ditunjukkan melalui peningkatan skor tes hasil belajar pada posttest setelah penggunaan media audiovisual. Selain itu peningkatan juga ditunjukkan secara simultan terhadap minat dan hasil belajar mereka. This research aimed at analyzing the influence of audiovisual based learning media on the interest and learning outcomes of UPT SPF students at Sumanna State Elementary School, Makassar City. This research used a quantitative approach with a Quasi Experimental research type. The sample for this research was students in class II UPT SPF Sumanna Elementary School, Makassar City, consisting of class II-A with 26 students as the experimental class, and class II-B with 23 students as the control class. The instruments used are questionnaires to measure interest in learning and tests to measure learning outcomes. Data were collected through pretest and posttest. The data were analyzed by using descriptive and inferensial statistical analysis. The results of the study showed that the use of audiovisual-based learning media significantly increased students' interests in learning. Students showed feelings of pleasure, interest in learning, attention while learning, and greater involvement, and active in learning activities. The learning outcomes of students also increased significantly, as shown by the increase in the learning outcome test scores on the posttest after using audiovisual media. In addition, the increase was also shown simultaneously in their interests and learning outcomes.

Abstract

Peningkatan keaktifan belajar peserta didik menjadi fokus penting dalam proses pembelajaran abad ke-21, terutama di wilayah terpencil yang menghadapi keterbatasan sumber daya. Strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dipandang sebagai pendekatan yang mampu mengakomodasi kebutuhan belajar siswa yang beragam. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi terhadap keaktifan belajar siswa kelas V di SD Inpres Polongan, Kecamatan Tobadak, Kabupaten Mamuju Tengah. Pendekatan yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian pre-eksperimental. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 24 siswa. Pengumpulan data dilakukan menggunakan lembar observasi dan angket untuk mengukur tingkat keaktifan belajar siswa setelah penerapan strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi statistik deskriptif untuk menggambarkan kecenderungan umum data, serta statistik inferensial untuk menguji signifikansi pengaruh perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi memberikan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap peningkatan keaktifan belajar siswa, dengan nilai signifikansi sebesar p < 0,01. Siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dengan pendekatan berdiferensiasi menunjukkan keterlibatan yang lebih aktif selama proses belajar berlangsung, ditandai dengan peningkatan frekuensi bertanya, menjawab, berdiskusi, serta menunjukkan minat yang lebih tinggi terhadap materi pelajaran. Selain itu, tingkat partisipasi dalam aktivitas kelas juga meningkat secara nyata, seiring dengan disesuaikannya metode pembelajaran terhadap kebutuhan, minat, dan gaya belajar masing-masing individu. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa strategi pembelajaran berdiferensiasi efektif dalam menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang inklusif dan adaptif terhadap keragaman siswa. Pendekatan ini tidak hanya meningkatkan keaktifan akademik, tetapi juga berkontribusi pada pencapaian hasil belajar yang lebih optimal. Oleh karena itu, implementasi strategi ini di SD Inpres Polongan terbukti relevan dan berhasil dalam mendukung peningkatan kualitas pembelajaran. Increasing student learning activity is an important focus in the 21st century learning process, especially in remote areas facing limited resources. Differentiated learning strategies are seen as an approach that can accommodate students' diverse learning needs. This study aims to determine the effect of differentiated learning strategies on the learning activity of fifth grade students at SD Inpres Polongan, Tobadak District, Central Mamuju Regency. The approach used is quantitative with a pre-experimental research design. The sample in this study amounted to 24 students. Data collection was carried out using observation sheets and questionnaires to measure the level of student learning activity after the implementation of differentiated learning strategies. Data analysis techniques used include descriptive statistics to describe the general trend of data, as well as inferential statistics to test the significance of the effect of treatment. The results of the study indicate that differentiated instruction has a statistically significant effect on improving student learning engagement, with a significance value of p < 0.01. Students exposed to this instructional approach demonstrated more active involvement during classroom activities, reflected in an increased frequency of asking questions, responding, participating in discussions, and showing greater interest in the subject matter. Participation levels also rose noticeably as teaching methods were tailored to meet each student's unique needs, interests, and learning styles. These findings confirm that differentiated instruction is effective in fostering an inclusive and adaptive learning environment. This strategy not only enhances academic engagement but also contributes to improved learning outcomes. Therefore, its implementation at SD Inpres Polongan has proven to be both relevant and impactful in enhancing the overall quality of the learning process.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keterkaitan antara penerapan Kurikulum Merdeka dengan kemampuan membaca pemahaman siswa sekolah dasar di Kecamatan Rappocini, Kota Makassar. Kurikulum Merdeka dirancang untuk memberikan fleksibilitas pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan karakteristik dan kebutuhan siswa, melalui pendekatan diferensiasi, pembelajaran berbasis proyek, dan integrasi teknologi. Pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian ini, melalui observasi dan wawancara terhadap guru serta siswa di beberapa sekolah dasar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa yang belajar melalui Kurikulum Merdeka menunjukkan peningkatan dalam pemahaman teks, keterlibatan membaca, serta kemampuan berpikir kritis dan analitis. Selain itu, ditemukan bahwa keberhasilan penerapan kurikulum ini sangat dipengaruhi oleh faktor internal seperti kondisi tubuh, intelegensi, motivasi, minat, dan kematangan siswa. Di sisi lain, faktor eksternal seperti dukungan keluarga, metode pengajaran guru, serta ketersediaan fasilitas belajar turut menjadi penentu keberhasilan. Kendala-kendala dalam implementasi meliputi minimnya pelatihan guru, kurangnya sumber bacaan, serta keterbatasan akses teknologi. Temuan ini merekomendasikan perlunya kolaborasi antara guru, sekolah, keluarga, dan pemerintah dalam mendukung ekosistem literasi yang inklusif dan berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi terhadap pengembangan strategi pembelajaran literasi yang kontekstual dan transformatif di tingkat pendidikan dasar. This study aims to analyze the correlation between the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum and elementary school students’ reading comprehension skills in Rappocini District, Makassar City. The Merdeka Curriculum is designed to provide learning flexibility that aligns with students’ characteristics and needs, utilizing differentiated instruction, project-based learning, and technology integration. A qualitative descriptive approach was employed in this research, using observation and interviews with teachers and students from several elementary schools. The findings reveal that students engaged in the Merdeka Curriculum demonstrate improved text comprehension, reading engagement, and critical as well as analytical thinking skills. Moreover, the study identifies that successful curriculum implementation is significantly influenced by internal factors such as physical condition, intelligence, motivation, interest, and emotional maturity. In addition, external factors including family support, teaching methods, and access to learning facilities also determine the effectiveness of literacy development. Key challenges in implementation include limited teacher training, lack of reading resources, and restricted access to technology. These findings suggest the need for collaboration among teachers, schools, families, and policymakers to support an inclusive and sustainable literacy ecosystem. This study contributes to the development of contextual and transformative literacy learning strategies at the elementary education level.

Abstract

Keterampilan berbicara merupakan salah satu aspek penting dalam penguasaan bahasa yang perlu dikembangkan sejak jenjang sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektivitas penerapan pendekatan saintifik dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berbicara siswa kelas II di UPT SPF SD Negeri Pongtiku II, Makassar. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan desain one group pre-test-post-test. Subjek penelitian terdiri dari 27 siswa yang dipilih melalui teknik simple random sampling. Data diperoleh melalui tes lisan, observasi, dan dianalisis dengan uji-t berpasangan serta perhitungan N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan skor keterampilan berbicara sebesar 3,15 poin, meskipun nilai N-Gain rata-rata tergolong rendah yaitu 0,01060. Peningkatan terjadi pada indikator kelancaran, kejelasan pengucapan, penggunaan kosakata, dan keberanian berbicara. Pembelajaran dengan pendekatan saintifik memungkinkan siswa untuk terlibat aktif dalam proses mengamati, menanya, mencoba, menalar, dan mengomunikasikan, sehingga berkontribusi terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berbicara secara bertahap. Temuan ini memperkuat teori perkembangan kognitif dan sosial yang relevan dalam konteks pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia. Meskipun masih terdapat keterbatasan dalam hasil, pendekatan ini dinilai efektif sebagai strategi pembelajaran alternatif dalam mengembangkan kemampuan komunikasi siswa sejak dini. Speaking skill is a crucial component of language acquisition that must be developed from the elementary school level. This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the scientific approach in improving the speaking skills of second-grade students at UPT SPF SD Negeri Pongtiku II, Makassar. The method employed is an experimental design using a one group pre-test-post-test model. The research subjects consisted of 27 students selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using oral tests and observation sheets, and analyzed through paired t-tests and N-Gain calculations. The results revealed an increase of 3.15 points in speaking performance, although the average N-Gain score was relatively low at 0.01060. Improvement was noted in fluency, clarity of pronunciation, vocabulary usage, and speaking confidence. The scientific approach enabled students to be actively engaged in observing, questioning, experimenting, reasoning, and communicating, which gradually enhanced their speaking proficiency. These findings support relevant cognitive and social development theories within the context of Indonesian language learning. Despite some limitations in the magnitude of improvement, the scientific approach proves to be an effective alternative instructional strategy for fostering communication skills in early education.
