Abstract

This research was conducted to determine the development of thematic teaching materials based on West Kalimantan local wisdom in Class III Themes 5 and 6 of Elementary Schools/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah. To make it easier for researchers to collect data, the researcher describes the specific objectives of knowing aspects of material content, aspects of presentation of material, aspects of design and aspects of language in the process of developing teaching materials based on local wisdom of West Kalimantan. This research uses R&D (Research And Development) research using a 4-D model (Define, Design, Develop, Dessiminate). In addition, researchers also use a qualitative approach to research qualitative data. The data sources in this study are the results of the validator's assessment regarding the assessment of material content validation, material presentation validation, design validation and language validation. The results of data validation can be interpreted as follows: Validation of West Kalimantan local wisdom-based thematic teaching materials in class III themes 5 and 6 of Elementary Schools/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah by six validators. 1) The material content validator is in the criteria of "Very Valid and Not Revised" with a proportion of 88.34%. 2) Validation by the material presentation validator is in the criteria of "Very Valid and Not Revised" with a proportion of 97.14%. 3) Validation by the book design validator is in the criteria of "Very Valid and Not Revised" with a proportion of 99.61%. 4) Validation by the language validator is in the criteria of "Very Valid and Not Revised" with a proportion of 90%.

Abstract

Cultivating Green Entrepreneurs: A Project-Based Learning Module to Foster Environmental Awareness and Entrepreneurship in Primary School. Objectives: This research and development aimed to develop a valid, practical, and effective project module product for teaching entrepreneurship and raising environmental awareness, which is crucial for grade V students. This study investigated how a project-based learning module can foster environmental awareness and entrepreneurship character among fifth-grade students. Methods: This study was implemented at Toho State Elementary School, a rural school in West Kalimantan, Indonesia, facing environmental and economic sustainability challenges. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method by adopting the ADDIE model. The module was to involve students in project activities that combine environmental care with opportunities to earn a living, in line with the local wisdom of the Dayak tribe in Toho. The module was validated by six experts in media, module design, and materials before field testing and implementation with teachers and students at SD Negeri 10 Toho. Participants included students, teachers, and expert validators involved in module testing. Environmental and entrepreneurship character were assessed using observation rubrics and pre–posttest. The practicality aspect of this module was measured through a survey of teachers and students; meanwhile, the effectiveness was assessed using Effect Size. Findings: Data were collected through tests, questionnaires, and interviews. The study found that the project module was feasible based on the expertise assessment. From the fifth graders' classroom teacher's perspective, the module had met 87.5 of % items of practicality and was seen as handy and easy to implement (practical). The findings indicate that the module is a valid and practical tool for integrating sustainability values into primary education. The effectiveness of the implementation of the project module shows that the N-Gain score reaches 55.27% indicating a moderate effect according to Hake’s criteria. Conclusion: The project module is suitable for teaching environmental awareness and entrepreneurship to fifth graders, as it has been validated and practical, though it still needs adjustments to improve its effectiveness. Keywords: project module, environmental care, entrepreneurship, sustainable lifestyle.

Abstract

Purpose – This study aims to (1) empirically measure the level of Indonesian pre-service primary school teachers’ knowledge of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), (2) analyze variations in knowledge levels based on demographic and academic characteristics, and (3) statistically examine the relationship between SDG knowledge levels and pre-service primary school teachers’ ability to integrate Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into science learning.Methodology – This study employed a quantitative descriptive, cross-sectional design. Empirical data were collected through a survey of 190 pre-service primary school teachers from 21 universities across Indonesia, selected through purposive sampling based on their completion of science education coursework. The research instrument was a 30-item SDG knowledge questionnaire. Data analysis involved descriptive and inferential statistics, including subgroup comparisons and the Chi-Square test of independence.Findings – The empirical findings indicate that pre-service primary school teachers’ SDG knowledge levels were predominantly in the good-to-very-good category (M = 24.74 out of 30). Variations across demographic and academic subgroups were relatively limited, with higher knowledge levels observed among respondents with science (IPA) and primary education (PGSD) backgrounds. The Chi-Square test revealed a statistically significant relationship between SDG knowledge and the ability to integrate ESD into science learning (p < 0.05).Contribution – This study provides quantitative empirical evidence of Indonesian pre-service primary school teachers' readiness to implement sustainability-oriented science instruction. The findings underscore the importance of systematically integrating SDGs and ESD into teacher education curricula to strengthen future teachers’ roles as evidence-based agents of change in advancing sustainable primary science education.

Abstract

AbstractThis study was intended to describe the difficulties of first grade MI Al-Ikhwah Pontianak teachers in planning, implementing, and conducting assessments in thematic learning. This research adopts descriptive qualitative methods. Data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation. The data sources of this study were first grade teachers and Head of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Al-Ikhwah. Data analysis techniques include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions. The results showed that in the planning stage, teachers found difficulty in composing lesson plan which based on the conditions of the students. Besides, they also found difficulty in sorting out the basic competencies in the syllabus and lesson plans. At last, teachers found difficulty in preparing appropriate learning media for thematic learning. Meanwhile, at the implementation stage, the teacher found difficulties in adjusting the time allocation of learning instruction, difficult to facing the demands of completing one learning in one meeting, adjusting basic competencies with learning material in half a day, synergizing the delivery of objectives and activities as a whole with the allocation of time, and applying a scientific approach in learning. Whereas, at the teacher evaluation stage, it is difficult to use assessment instruments based on the condition of the students. Besides, the teachers found it difficult to adjust anecdotal notes with the assessment of the 2013 curriculum report cards. Therefore, the research findings should be used as an evaluation material for classroom teachers in applying thematic learning in classroom activities. Keywords: teacher difficulties, thematic learning, 2013 curriculum.AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kesulitan guru kelas satu MI Al- Ikhwah Pontianak dalam merencanakan, melaksanakan, dan melakukan penilaian dalam pembelajaran tematik. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the project-based learning model (PjBL) on the learning creativity of fifth-grade science students in elementary school. This study uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design method and nonequivalent control group design. The research sample consisted of 46 fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 18 Pontianak Timur, divided into an experimental class (23 students) and a control class (23 students). The data collection technique was carried out using tests with pre-test and post-test instruments. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and independent t-tests after fulfilling the prerequisite tests for normality and homogeneity. The results showed a significant difference between the experimental and control groups with a p value <0.05. The average posttest of the experimental group (82.61) was higher than the control group (55.24). Analysis per indicator showed that the experimental group excelled in all aspects of fluency (68.50% vs. 64.12%), flexibility (81.52% vs. 38.59%), originality (89.14% vs. 52.72%), and elaboration (89.12% vs. 85.87%). This study proves that the PjBL model has a positive and significant effect on the creativity of fifth-grade students in learning science, so it can be used as an innovative learning alternative to support the development of 21st-century skills in the context of the Independent Curriculum.
