Abstract

The use of pesticides in rice production has an impact on the environment. Pesticides are chemicals used to kill or control pests. The use of pesticides carries some risks, but farmers are used to using pesticides. However, the use of pesticides may lead to the contamination of groundwater. Therefore, the research question in this study was whether there any differences in rice production before and after pesticide reduction in Indonesia. This study aimed to analyze the difference between rice production before and after pesticide reduction in Indonesia. The secondary data in this study were rice production data from FAO. Data from 1968 to 1992 were data about rice production before reducing pesticide use in Indonesia, while data from 1993 to 2017 were data about rice production after reducing pesticide use in Indonesia. The applied data analysis was paired sample t-test using SPSS 25. The results indicated that there is a significant difference between rice production before and after reducing pesticide use in Indonesia.

Abstract

Umumnya buah kelapa hanya dimanfaatkan untuk pembuatan kopra di Desa Mataketen. Rendahnya pengetahuan tentang pengolahan kelapa menjadi produk olahan lain selain kopra menjadi masalah mitra Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat. Sehingga pengabdian kepada masyarakat berupaya memberikan solusi berupa pembuatan Virgin Coconut Oil (VCO), Arang Aktif dan cara pengemasan serta memaksimalkan penjualan produk melalui media online. Metode dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah pelatihan pembuatan VCO, Arang Aktif dan pengemasan serta memaksimalkan penjualan melalui media online. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian ini dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kecakapan mitra dalam membuat VCO, Arang Aktif dan pengemasan serta demonstrasi pemanfaatan media online sebagai medium pemasaran produk.

Abstract

Low farmer welfare level is one development problem in Tidore. This is explained in the medium-term regional development plan of Tidore Islands 2016-2021. Regarding to the public welfare phenomena, this research aims at knowing the influence magnitude on the effectiveness of nutmeg processing and packaging reformulation activity to the public welfare in Jaya village. The method used in this research was quantitative research conducted by survey sample research approach. The sampling used from the population used stratified random sampling technique. The data collection used literature review, research questionnaire and observation. Data analysis used included item validity test, instrument reliability test, correlation coefficient measurement, determination coefficient measurement, hypothesis test using t-test and regression equation measurement. The research result showed that there was a positive and significant effectivity of nutmeg processing and packaging reformulation activity to the public welfare in Jaya Village of Tidore Islands.

Abstract

The large market demand for the processed sago has an economic impact on the Jaya Village. It showed from increasingly amount of demand and decision to buy flavored sago. Higher buying decision on flavored sago was allegedly influenced by the marketing mix factors applied by Tagafura Joint Farmer Groups from Jaya District, Tidore. Therefore, this study aimed to find out the effect of the marketing mix on the purchase decision of flavored sago from Tagafura Joint Farmer Groups. The location of this study was selected purposively, namely in Jaya District, North Tidore, Tidore. This study was conducted from August to December 2018. The primary data in this study was the result of questionnaires that were distributed to 30 respondents chosen using the saturated sample technique. The data was analyzed using tests of validity, reliability, correlation coefficient, determination, simple linear regression, and t-test to test the hypothesis. The results showed that the applied marketing mix factors had a positive and significant effect on the purchase decision of flavored sago from Tagafura Joint Farmer Groups in Jaya, Tidore.

Abstract

The purpose of this researchment is to ascertain how wide the farming of species Saccharun Edule Hasskarl (terubuk) in sub district Tosa, district of East Tidore of Tidore Island through the indicator of the value revenue, production and selling prices so that the farmers will achieve The Break Event Point (BEP). The research method was used a quantitative method with the number of samples of 30 people. The determination of the sample method is using the census method or involving all members of the population into a sample of researchment. The secondary data collection was done by using library literature in the form of document review and relevant references to research object while primary data collection was done by using questionnaire. The data is using equation R /C Ratio, BEP Revenue, BEP Price, and BEP Production. Therefore from the results of the researchment it can be explained that the two of the thirty farmers come through the break event point, while the other twenty-eight farmers declared having a business that worth to be develop or experiencing profit, because the R/C ratio is above 1.0 with average profit reach Rp. 989.000, - per production / farmer. Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of marketing communications at the Tourism Office of West Halmahera (Halbar) on the decision of domestic tourists to choose a tourist destination for Halbar. In this study apply the theory of Integrated Marketing Communication. The subjects of this study were domestic tourists who were exposed to marketing communications carried out by the Halbar Regency Tourism Office with the age provisions of 20 -5i years. The research sample amounted to 100 respondents. Survey is the method used in this study with a questionnaire as an instrument to collect data. Where variable X is Marketing Communication and variable X is the decision of domestic tourists. The analysis technique uses a distribution table, while to test the hypothesis using Correlation-Rank-Order, significant test uses t-test, and calculates the Strength of Influence (KP). The results of the study indicate that the hypothesis proposed by the researcher is that there is an influence of marketing communications from the Halbar Tourism Office on the decision of domestic tourists to choose an accepted tourist destination (0.396), with the results of the calculation of rho (rs) = 0.396, it can be stated that there is a significant relationship between the two variables. the. Based on the results of the t-test, the correlation obtained is significant, meaning that the marketing communication of the Halbar Regency Office affects the decisions of domestic tourists. Furthermore, to calculate the power of influence (KP), namely the influence of the relationship between the marketing communications of the Halbar Regency Tourism Office on the decisions of domestic tourists, it is 15.68%.

Abstract

Fenomena yang dijadikan obyek penelitian adalah pelaksanaan pengawasan fungsional oleh Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan Provinsi Maluku Utara. Tujuan penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan pelaksanaan pengawasan fungsional. Penelitian menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan analisis secara deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan dengan Studi Kepustakaan, Kuisioner dan Observasi. Populasi penelitian adalah seluruh pegawai Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan Provinsi Maluku Utara sebanyak 96 responden. Sampel sebanyak 96 responden diambil dengan teknik sensus. Hasil dri penelitian ini dapat ditarik kesimpulan yang mana pelaksanaan pengawasan fungsional oleh Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan Provinsi Maluku Utara cukup tinggi dengan rata-rata nilai yang diberikan yaitu 3,52. Ini menunjukkan hasil penelitian tentang pelaksanaan pengawasan fungsional oleh Badan Pengawasan Keuangan dan Pembangunan Provinsi Maluku Utara adalah baik.

Abstract

This research was conducted in a transmigrant settlement in Wasile District, East Halmahera Regency, North Maluku Province, where the initial placement included ethnic groups from Banyuwangi and Banyumas. The study aims to analyze the support of social capital for the adaptability of transmigrants. A post-positivist paradigm was employed in this research. Data were collected through observation, participatory observation, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and document reviews. The informants consisted of 6 key informants and 14 supporting informants. The key informants included two representatives each from the Banyuwangi and Banyumas transmigrant groups placed in 1983, a Field Extension Officer (PPL), the Wasile District Head, the Village Head of Bumi Restu, and the Village Head of Mekar Sari. The supporting informants were those recommended by the key informants. The informants were selected purposively, followed by a snowball sampling technique. The data were analyzed qualitatively and descriptively manner. The findings indicate that the social capital support possessed by these two transmigrant groups significantly enhanced their adaptability, enabling them to survive and thrive. Furthermore, the implications of these findings are substantial. Strong social capital among the transmigrants can facilitate knowledge exchange, resource sharing, and collective action, essential for establishing and maintaining effective agribusiness practices. This robust support network enables transmigrants to overcome agricultural production, market access, and economic integration challenges. Consequently, the enhanced adaptability fostered by social capital improves their resilience and contributes to the overall success and sustainability of their agribusiness ventures, promoting community development and economic growth in the region.

Abstract

Pertumbuhan penduduk yang semakin tinggi menuntut pemenuhan penyediaan makanan dan perluasan daerah pemukiman. Hal ini akan berpengaruh terhadap peningkatan konversi lahan. Seiring dengan pertambahan penduduk dan alih fungsi lahan pertanian yang tidak akan pernah bisa dihentikan, maka berbagai upaya dilakukan untuk tetap mengusahakan tercapainya ketersediaan pangan. Upaya yang dimaksud yaitu dengan memberikan pendampingan dalam memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan masyarakat tani. Dengan kegiatan ini diharapkan masyarakat tani dapat memanfaatkan pekarangannya untuk bercocok tanam, guna memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi sayur bagi keluarganya. Metode yang digunakan kegiatan ini adalah melakukan penyuluhan sekaligus pendampingan secara rutin dan berkala setiap bulan selama tiga bulan. Dari hasil pengabdian kepada masyarakat tersebut, diketahui bahwa masyarakat benar-benar memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan dengan baik. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil produksi sayuran pada lahan pekarangan yang tidak hanya memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi, melainkan sebagian dapat dijual ke pasar. Dari 30 rumah tangga yang melaksanakan kegiatan tersebut, semuanya berhasil memenuhi kebutuhan konsumsi sayuran seperti sawi, bayam, tomat dan cabe.

Abstract

Purpose: This essay aims to reconstruct young people's understanding of and attitude towards social entrepreneurship as a field of endeavour critical to developing crucial competencies in the New Economy. The study also aims to describe young people's perceptions of their willingness to participate in society and the current economy as agents. Design/methodology/approach: In order to accomplish this, a diagnostic study (based on a so-called task catalogue) was carried out with a group of more than 500 students in Indonesian vocational high schools, senior high schools, and private schools, as well as three workshops with students from particular school types. Findings: According to the study, students are aware of the possibilities of engaging in social activism through broadly construed social entrepreneurship and third sector involvement. It was also proven that they are well cognizant of the opportunities and requirement for action in this regard. The materials that students have discussed transfer into skills required in the New Economy. Research limitations/implications: A lot of variables that could influence teenage behaviour must be taken into account in modern study. These difficulties will undoubtedly merit consideration throughout the formulation and creation of the research's tools in further in-depth studies. Practical implications: Young people's social entrepreneurship is constantly evolving, and even though its focus shifts (from shared management activities to civic engagement and social solidarity activities), it always refers to collaborative efforts on the cusp of economic and social reality. Young people's attitude towards carrying out duties that are beneficial to society is also evolving. Young people view them as a chance to address both societal issues and the difficulties posed by the postmodern world's transformations. Social implications: Young people are more conscious and involved citizens as well as more responsible future members of the New Economy thanks to the competencies they have acquired. Originality/value: The paper reconstructs the tools, strategies, and perspectives of young people towards the agency opportunities provided by social entrepreneurship. The knowledge that was gathered was examined in light of the project's competency-based competence issues.
