Abstract

ABSTRACTThe potential for coconut cultivation produced by the people of Oba District only uses coconut meat as copra so that apart frim the coconut meat, it only becomes waste such as coconut husks, shells and dregs. Apart from that, the potential for coconut cultivation may not necessarily improve the welfare of farmers in Oba District, Tidore Islands City, because copra prices experience fluctuations which ultimately cause losses for coconut export producers. This service program aims to find out some of the problems that exist among farmer partners in Oba District, Tidore Island City in dealing with waste from copra. This is expected to influemce the comfort of life for the surrounding community by reducing pollution and utilizing waste thereby increasing added value to the coconut agro-industry system in Oba District. Keywords: Copra; Environment; Coconut.

Abstract

ABSTRACTSolar energy is a renewable and environmentally friendly energy that can be utilized in various fields. One of them is to increase agricultural sector production, namely by utilizing smart and efficient technology based on solar energy. One of the problems faced by farmers is the provision of crop irrigation and watering which requires a lot of labor or high electricity costs. With solar-based irrigation pumps with an automatic system that is expected to be able to reduce the need for labor and electricity costs. The method of service is by conducting training on the application of solar-powered water pumps for agricultural irrigation systems to the HKTI-Gowa Youth. This service provides additional knowledge about the use of solar power for agricultural irrigation systems, so that it can be more efficient and effective with this cheap and environmentally friendly energy source. This activity was greatly appreciated by the training participants in this service. Abstract

Granulated sugar is a vital ingredient in Indonesia, widely used as a sweetener in various food and beverage applications. To meet increasing domestic demand, the government has targeted sugar self-sufficiency by 2025. The Indonesian Long-Term Development Plan 2020–2024 outlines efforts to enhance sugarcane productivity. This study aims to identify the factors influencing farmer loyalty in sugarcane cultivation in Indonesia. A quantitative approach was employed to examine the relationships between government policy, sugar company policy, farmer behavior, and cooperative member participation (independent variables) and farmer loyalty (dependent variable). The data were analyzed using SmartPLS version 4. The results indicate that government policy and cooperative member participation do not significantly affect farmer loyalty, while farmer behavior and sugar company policy have a significant positive influence. Notably, the policies of sugar companies play a pivotal role in shaping farmers’ commitment to sugarcane cultivation. These findings suggest that strengthening farmer behavior and enhancing company-level policies can improve loyalty. Furthermore, the results imply that government efforts toward sugar self-sufficiency should not only focus on policy formulation but also ensure alignment with farmers' practical needs and support systems. Integrating sugar company strategies with national agricultural policies could enhance the effectiveness of government programs and accelerate the achievement of self-sufficiency targets.
