Abstract

This study aims to analyze the dynamics of elections from a supervisory perspective, focusing on the role of the Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) in addressing money politics practices in Gorontalo City. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, using data collection techniques such as interviews, documentation, and direct observation of monitoring and violation-handling processes. The results show that although Gorontalo City Bawaslu operates under a strong legal foundation—namely Law Number 7 of 2017 and Government Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perpu) Number 1 of 2022—its implementation still faces numerous challenges on the ground. Out of 11 reported cases of alleged money politics, only 7 were successfully registered, while the rest could not be pursued legally. Four of these were categorized as serious violations, involving administrative, ethical, and criminal offenses. The main obstacles faced by Bawaslu include low public participation in reporting, limited access to the reporting system, insufficient supervisory capacity at lower levels, and weak law enforcement. Nevertheless, Bawaslu has taken several improvement initiatives, such as the Anti-Money Politics Village program and the use of social media for participatory supervision. The study concludes that the performance of Gorontalo City Bawaslu in handling money politics remains suboptimal and calls for comprehensive reforms in terms of resources, transparency, and strengthened collaboration with the public and law enforcement institutions to ensure clean, fair, and democratic elections.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memperkuat demokrasi dan pemahaman pemilu bagi pemilih pemula menjelang Pemilu 2024, khususnya pada mahasiswa Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo. Metode pelaksanaan pengabdian ini dilakukan secara offline dengan pendekatan ceramah dan simulasi kepemiluan. Hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian menunjukkan dua aspek penting. Pertama, dari segi pemahaman mahasiswa terkait pemilihan umum, sebanyak 60% peserta mampu memilih sumber informasi yang kredibel, sementara 40% masih memerlukan peningkatan literasi politik. Kedua, terkait pemahaman bentuk pengawasan partisipatif menjelang Pemilu 2024, sebanyak 20% peserta masih belum mampu mengidentifikasi secara menyeluruh, sedangkan 80% yang terlibat dalam kegiatan ini telah meningkatkan pemahamannya. Secara umum, hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa kegiatan pengabdian mahasiswa memberikan dampak positif terhadap pemahaman mahasiswa Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo. Meskipun sebagian peserta memerlukan perhatian lebih dalam meningkatkan literasi politik dan pemahaman pengawasan partisipatif, partisipasi mahasiswa secara signifikan memperbaiki pemahaman sebagian besar peserta. Oleh karena itu, untuk meningkatkan dampak positif dan meratakan pemahaman, disarankan kepada instansi berikutnya, melanjutkan kegiatan pengabdian serupa dengan penekanan pada aspek-aspek yang memerlukan perhatian lebih, seperti pengembangan program literasi politik dan pelatihan mengenai pengawasan partisipatif. Upaya ini diharapkan memastikan mahasiswa Universitas Nahdlatul Ulama Gorontalo menjadi agen perubahan yang lebih efektif dalam mendukung proses demokrasi dan pemilihan umum di masa depan.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman politik dan memperkuat nation building melalui partisipasi edukatif siswa di SMAN 7 Gorontalo. Latar belakang kegiatan ini berangkat dari fenomena rendahnya kesadaran politik di kalangan pelajar yang berdampak pada lemahnya semangat kebangsaan dan partisipasi warga negara muda dalam kehidupan demokratis. Oleh karena itu, kegiatan ini dirancang untuk menghadirkan pembelajaran politik yang kontekstual, reflektif, dan partisipatif agar siswa mampu memahami hubungan antara pengetahuan politik dengan tanggung jawab kebangsaan. Metode pelaksanaan menggunakan pendekatan participatory education yang melibatkan siswa secara aktif melalui observasi, sosialisasi, diskusi kelompok, dan refleksi nilai-nilai Pancasila dalam konteks kehidupan berbangsa. Data diperoleh melalui survei menggunakan angket yang dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif, kemudian disajikan dalam bentuk grafik untuk menggambarkan persepsi dan tingkat pemahaman siswa terhadap politik dan nation building. Hasil pengabdian menunjukkan bahwa sebagian besar siswa berada pada kategori “Setuju” dan “Sangat Setuju” terhadap pentingnya pemahaman politik dalam membentuk kesadaran kebangsaan. Keterlibatan aktif siswa dalam kegiatan diskusi dan refleksi menunjukkan bahwa partisipasi edukatif mampu menjadi sarana efektif dalam menumbuhkan rasa tanggung jawab sosial dan kesadaran bernegara. Kegiatan ini diharapkan menjadi model edukatif berkelanjutan dalam penguatan karakter kebangsaan di lingkungan sekolah

Abstract

Bullying among students is increasingly complex in the era of the Industrial Revolution 4.0, especially in the form of digital bullying that affects students' mental health and character. This service activity aims to provide character education in response to this phenomenon, so that students are able to build awareness and resilience in facing digital social pressure. The service methods used include interactive lectures, value simulation, and case study-based mentoring. This activity involved 34 students as the main target and 3 resource persons as facilitators The results of the activity showed an increase in participants' understanding of the form and impact of digital bullying, as well as the growth of concern and proactive attitude to create a safe school environment. Participants also showed improved ability to manage emotions, understand the importance of strong character, and not respond to pressure with aggressive actions. Based on these results, it is recommended that character education based on anti-bullying values continue to be strengthened through continuous habituation and training programs, in order to form a resilient and adaptive young generation in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to critically examine educational management practices in supporting the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum (Independent Curriculum) at the junior high school level in Luwuk District, Banggai Regency. 21st-century education demands a fundamental transformation in school governance, where educational management must be not only administrative but also transformative. Using a qualitative approach and survey method, this study collected data through open questionnaires, field observations, and in-depth interviews with purposively selected school principals, teachers, and education personnel. The findings reveal that the success of the Merdeka Curriculum implementation is strongly influenced by three key dimensions: visionary and adaptive school leadership, teacher involvement in lesson planning and evaluation, and active community participation in school activities. However, the study also identifies several major challenges, including inadequate teacher training, high administrative burdens, limited digital literacy, lack of learning infrastructure, and weak external partnerships. Overall, this research affirms that the effectiveness of the Merdeka Curriculum is largely determined by the readiness of human resources and the quality of school management. The results of this study are expected to serve as a foundation for formulating contextual, sustainable, and learner-centered management strategies.

Abstract

This study aims to identify the strategies of Civic Education teachers in strengthening national resilience through the development of civic disposition in Junior High Schools in Gorontalo City. This research uses qualitative methods with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. Observation was conducted to understand the extent of the strategies applied in strengthening civic disposition during the learning process. Interviews were conducted with Civics teachers as informants to gain an in-depth understanding of their strategy implementation, while documentation was used to record relevant data, such as photos and other important information. The results showed that national resilience can be effectively enhanced through the implementation of Pancasila values-based civic disposition. Collaborative support between the Gorontalo City Education Office and junior high schools in Gorontalo City is instrumental in shaping students' religious and nationalist characters. Through a programme that emphasises tolerance, responsibility and social care, students are encouraged to apply civic concepts in real life, thus strengthening their national identity. However, there are barriers in implementing this strategy, such as limited resources and the influence of social media that can distract students from civic values. The conclusion of this study shows that Civics teachers' strategies, including the teaching of Pancasila values and interactive learning activities, play an important role in shaping a generation that understands its rights and obligations as citizens, and contributes positively to national resilience and the nation's progress.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the political preferences of voters with disabilities in general elections and the determinants of their political preferences. This study used qualitative methods with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis used an interactive model that includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of the study indicate that political preferences are born from values as a basis, perceptions are formed through direct experience and interaction with the political environment, and tendencies are reflected in participation patterns and satisfaction with democratic mechanisms. Political preferences of voters with disabilities are influenced by ideological values formed from educational background, social class, and religious affiliation. While group identity plays a role in strengthening solidarity, forming a sense of attachment, and directing political choices according to the common interest. Political preferences of voters with disabilities are not simply personal choices, but rather the result of the interaction between values, perceptions, and tendencies influenced by ideological values and group identity to strengthen political orientation.
