Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze the enhancement mathematical communication ability and the achievement mathematical disposition of junior high school students under Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) learning. This study was a quasi-eperimental in one of the junior high schools in Bandung, with the design of non-equivalent control group involving 80 students of grade VII. The instrument used for measuring students ability was a test on mathematical communication, whereas for measuring their mathematical disposition, a questionaire was used . The statistical analysis performed were Mann-Whitney test, and one way ANOVA test. The research results obtained are: (1) the enhancement the students mathematical communication abilities who work under Model-Eliting Activities (MEAs) learning is better than the students who work under conventional learning, (2) there are differences in the improvement in mathematical communication ability between students who have mathematical prior knowledge (KAM) high, midlle, low, (3) the students achievement in mathematical disposition who work under Model-Eliciting Activities (MEAs) learning is better than those who work under conventional learning.

Abstract

The background of this research is related to the development of human resources through social sciences which must be introduced to students from an early age. Of course, in the introduction of social studies, teachers must use learning models so that teaching and learning activities can be achieved in accordance with learning objectives. The formulation of the problem in this research article is how does a teacher deliver learning related to social studies?. In addition, what learning models can teachers use in teaching social studies? The purpose of this study is so that readers can understand various learning models that can be used in increasing students' understanding of the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence. This study uses qualitative research methods that use data types in the form of results from journal literature, books, and other scientific works as a reference for writing research. The results of this study indicate that there are several learning models that can be used by educators in teaching and learning activities about the Proclamation of Indonesian Independence. Keywords: Learning Model, Social Studies, Human Resources, Proclamation of Indonesian Independence

Abstract

The emergence of antibiotic-resistant bacteria is one of the most serious public health problems. These bacteria develop a defense mechanism against antibiotics, often called immune. In this study, the authors propose a mathematical model that describes the dynamics of sensitive staphylococcus aerus bacteria infected by ciprofloxacin antibiotics, resistant staphylococcus aerus bacteria, and immune cells assuming that the resistance is obtained from the mutations of sensitive bacteria exposed to antibiotic exposure. Qualitative analysis found a balance of the number of bacteria produced by sensitive bacteria that survive the effects of antibiotics and immune cells is less than the number of bacteria produced by resistant bacteria where resistant bacteria would coexist with immune cells in a person's body. The results of this analysis show the fact that when a person's immune system weakens, there is a higher chance of being infected. So, the parameter that can be controlled to suppress the population of resistant bacteria is the effectiveness level of immune cell response to bacteria, this result is supported by numerical simulations performed on the model.Keywords: Antibiotic, Bacterial Resistance, Equilibrium Points, Immune System, Ordinary Differential Equations Systems, Stability.AbstrakMunculnya bakteri yang resisten atau kebal terhadap antibiotik menjadi salah satu masalah kesehatan masyarakat paling serius. Dalam penelitian ini, dikaji model matematika yang menggambarkan dinamika bakteri Staphylococcus aerus sensitif yang terpapar antibiotik ciprofloxacin, bakteri Staphylococcus aerus resisten, dan sel imun dengan anggapan bahwa resistensi diperoleh dari mutasi bakteri sensitif terkena paparan antibiotik. Analisis kualitatif menemukan adanya keseimbangan saat jumlah bakteri yang diproduksi oleh bakteri sensitif yang bertahan terhadap efek antibiotik dan sel imun kurang dari produksi bakteri resisten di mana bakteri resisten akan hidup beriringan dengan sel imun di dalam tubuh seseorang. Hasil dari analisis ini menunjukan fakta bahwa ketika sistem imun tubuh seseorang melemah, maka peluang terinfeksi lebih tinggi. Jadi, parameter yang dapat dikontrol untuk menekan populasi bakteri resisten adalah tingkat efektivitas respon sel imun terhadap bakteri, didukung oleh simulasi numerik yang dilakukan pada model.

Abstract

Ruang Orlicz adalah perumuman dari ruang Lebesgue yang dikenalkan oleh Z. W. Birnbaum dan W. Orlicz pada tahun 1931. Terdapat dua versi ruang Orlicz, yaitu ruang Orlicz kontinu dan ruang barisan Orlicz. Topik utama penelitian ini adalah mengenai beberapa sifat pada ruang barisan Orlicz. Pada penelitian ini, penulis memperlihatkan syarat cukup dan perlu sifat inklusi dan keberlakuan ketaksamaan Hölder pada ruang barisan Orlicz. Lebih jauh lagi, penulis memperoleh syarat cukup dan perlu perumuman ketaksamaan Hölder pada ruang barisan Orlicz. Salah satu cara yang digunakan untuk membuktikan hal tersebut adalah dengan menggunakan norma dari barisan karakteristik pada .

Abstract

Geometry is one branch of mathematics that is important for students to learn because it can develop problem-solving skills. However, there are still errors in solving problems related to geometry, one of which is the topic of a solid geometry. This study aims to conduct a literature review related to student errors in solving problems on the topic of solid geometry. The research method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Data collection techniques were carried out by documenting and reviewing 43 nationally indexed articles obtained from Google Scholar, then grouped into several categories. 17 articles discuss students' errors on the topic of a solid geometry. Based on the results of the study, it was found that there were still errors in solving problems related to the solid geometry made by students, especially conceptual errors. This is due to a lack of understanding of the concept and the selection of an incorrect formula in solving the problem of  solid geometry.Geometri ialah salah satu cabang pelajaran matematika yang penting dipelajari oleh siswa sebab dapat mengembangkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah. Namun, masih terdapat kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan masalah terkait geometri salah satunya topik bangun ruang sisi datar. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan kajian literatur terkait kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pada topik bangun ruang sisi datar. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan mendokumentasi dan mereviu artikel terindeks nasional sebanyak 43 artikel yang diperoleh dari Google Scholar, kemudian dikelompokkan kedalam beberapa kategori. Terdapat 17 artikel yang membahas tentang kesalahan siswa pada topik bangun ruang sisi datar. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, didapatkan bahwa masih terdapat kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan masalah terkait bangun ruang sisi datar yang dilakukan oleh siswa terutama kesalahan konsep. Hal tersebut dikarenakan kurangnya pemahaman konsep serta pemilihan rumus yang tidak tepat dalam menyelesaikan permasalahan bangun ruang sisi datar.

Abstract

As the huge consumption of rice worldwide, the amount of production waste also increases. The purpose of this study was to investigate rice husk utilization for briquettes solid fuel which has aroused a great concern in the last few decades and growing number of related publications. Therefore, a bibliometric analysis of these publications may provide a direction of novel topics and prospective research trends. The related global literatures published between 2012 and 2021 have been scanned from ScienceDirect collection database. “Biochar briquettes” and “rice husk briquettes” are used as the keywords. VOSviewer is applied to perform the bibliometric analysis of these articles. In the same time, literature review has been done to analyze the research trends on rice husk-based briquetting.  Totally 400 publications on the topic of biochar briquettes were identified and “biomass” with a total link strength of 90 appeared as the most frequent keywords.

Abstract

Permainan mengajar merupakan sebuah permainan kategori simulasi dimana user bertindak sebagai seorang guru yang mengajar di kelas virtual dengan kondisi yang dibuat semirip mungkin dengan keadaan riil kondisi pembelajaran di kelas. Kenaikan kemampuan kognitif dan afektif siswa yang dipandang sebagai bagian dari indikator dalam menilai performa kemampuan guru dalam mengajar menjadi suatu factor penting dalam pengembangan game teaching. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memberikan kondisi kemampuan kognitif dan afektif siswa virtual pada awal simulasi pembelajaran dengan menggunakan metode rule-based procedural content generation. Data awal diperoleh dari kuisioner yang diberikan baik kepada guru maupun kepada siswa untuk memperoleh gambaran kondisi kemampuan kognitif dan afektif siswa diawal pembelajaran. Selanjutnya kondisi kognitif dan afektif siswa yang dibangun diimplementasikan pada suatu game teaching untuk memperbesar tingkat kesamaan kondisi real dan kondisi pada kelas virtual. Game Teaching kemudian diujicobakan kepada mahasiswa Pendidikan untuk diminta tanggapannya melalui Game Experience Questionnaire. Berdasarkan penelitian yang telah dilakukan, diperoleh data bahwa Game Teaching yang menggunakan Rule-Based Procedural Content Generation memiliki poin penilaian lebih dibandingkan dengan Game Teaching yang tidak menggunakan Rule-Based Procedural Content Generation.

Abstract

This research is a literature study or literature review with a qualitative descriptive approach. Researchers obtained data from several sources such as journals, theses, books, and others that are still relevant to this research study. The instrument in this study was the researcher himself who reviewed some of the results of previous research which were then described in paragraphs. The stages in obtaining research data are starting from reading, analyzing and then concluding. The results showed that the Problem Based Learning model was able to improve the learning outcomes of elementary school students in diversity matters. The existence of giving problems in the diversity material used, is able to spur students to think critically. With the problems given students can provide solutions to their problems according to the findings they find from the various sources they have used. Through discussions to solve problems, students are able to get various answers so that the most appropriate answer can be chosen to solve the problem. With the Problem Based Learning model, student cooperation will be trained so that students are able to improve their critical thinking as a whole.

Abstract

X-Ray Diffraction (XRD) has been developed to analyze a crystal structure in the material. XRD is then improved for determining and identifying the presence of a compound, crystallinity, and crystal properties. XRD works by observing the ray refraction pattern as a result of the beam being refracted by a material that has an atomic arrangement in its crystal lattice. Until now, there is less information regarding detailed information on how to read the XRD spectrum and peak. This study aims to demonstrate how to calculate and interpret the crystallite size based on the XRD spectra. The step-by-step method in the calculation based on the XRD data is presented, which can help especially students and first-time users in understanding XRD results. This study is prospective to be used as standard information on how to read and interpret XRD spectra.

Abstract

Masuknya kemampuan computational thinking ke dalam penilaian PISA menjadi tantangan baru bagi siswa Indonesia. Salah satu kemampuan yang berperan penting dalam proses pemecahan masalah ini belum banyak diterapkan oleh siswa akibat adanya learning obstacle. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi untuk mengidentifikasi learning obstacle siswa sekolah menengah pertama pada materi statistika terkait dengan kemampuan computational thinking. Instrumen penelitian yang digunakan yaitu soal tes kemampuan computational thinking dan pedoman wawancara. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil tes 17 orang siswa salah satu sekolah menengah pertama di Kabupaten Garut, dianalisis melalui tahapan reduksi data, penyajian data hingga penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa mengalami ketiga jenis learning obstacle dalam materi statistika yang terkait dengan kemampuan computational thinking.
