Abstract

This study aims to critically identify and analyze the role of Christian education in shaping and sustaining the spiritual discipline of Christian youth in the digital age. Amid the rapid development of technology, today’s adolescents live in an environment filled with instant access to information and virtual interactions, which may reshape their understanding and practice of faith. This research employs a qualitative method with a literature study approach, analyzing various academic sources and relevant studies. The findings indicate that digital technology, when managed wisely, can serve as an effective tool for faith education—through social media, spiritual apps, and interactive online learning. However, excessive reliance on technology without proper guidance may result in a weakened connection to faith communities and diminished depth in personal spirituality. Therefore, Christian education is challenged to design a balanced approach between the use of digital media and the strengthening of interpersonal relationships within the church community. The novelty of this research lies in its formulation of a digitally based pedagogical strategy that preserves the core of Christian spirituality, offering a relevant response to the spiritual formation needs of youth in an ever-evolving digital culture.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has a wide impact in various fields, including education and the formation of Christian teenagers' spirituality. Teenagers in the digital era face challenges in balancing the utilisation of technology with spiritual values. Christian education plays an important role in guiding teenagers to become wise users of technology while building spiritual maturity. The purpose of this study is to analyse the impact of digital technology on teenagers' spirituality and the role of Christian education in overcoming challenges and taking advantage of opportunities, using a qualitative method of literature study. The results showed that digital technology can support adolescents' faith development through access to spiritual resources and digital communities, but also presents challenges such as spiritual distraction and reduced face-to-face interactions. Christian education needs to integrate technology in a balanced way to preserve faith values, with an integrative approach that proposes a digital technology-based education model that not only focuses on knowledge transfer, but also on holistically developing adolescents' spiritual maturity. This model offers a new outlook in balancing the use of technology with engagement in the faith community.

Abstract

Apologetika memainkan peran penting dalam pendidikan agama Kristen, terutama dalam memberikan pembelaan rasional terhadap iman Kristen di tengah tantangan skeptisisme dan relativisme dunia modern. Buku When Critics Ask karya Norman Geisler dan Ronald M. Brooks menawarkan panduan apologetika yang komprehensif untuk menjawab berbagai kritik terhadap iman Kristen. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis relevansi apologetika modern dalam konteks pendidikan agama Kristen, dengan fokus pada buku When Critics Ask sebagai salah satu sumber utama. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi pustaka, di mana data diperoleh melalui kajian literatur terkait buku tersebut serta sumber-sumber pendukung lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa buku ini memberikan wawasan yang mendalam mengenai cara-cara membela iman Kristen dengan argumen rasional dan ilmiah, serta bagaimana penerapan apologetika tersebut dapat memperkuat pemahaman dan ketahanan iman bagi generasi muda. Pembahasan juga mencakup peran apologetika dalam meningkatkan kemampuan siswa untuk mengatasi tantangan intelektual dan keraguan terhadap iman mereka. Kesimpulannya, apologetika modern yang terkandung dalam buku When Critics Ask sangat relevan dalam membentuk pendidikan agama Kristen yang tidak hanya mengajarkan ajaran agama, tetapi juga membekali siswa dengan alat untuk mempertahankan iman mereka di dunia yang semakin kritis terhadap agama.

Abstract

The rise of radicalism on university campuses poses a serious challenge to the world of education, particularly in preserving the unity of a pluralistic and tolerant nation. Radicalism targets not only religious institutions but has also infiltrated academic spaces, including among students. Christian Education, grounded in the values of love, forgiveness, and respect for others, holds strategic potential as a pillar in fostering religious moderation amid the tide of extremism. This study aims to examine the role and contribution of Christian Education in shaping moderate mindsets and character among campus youth. The research method used is qualitative-descriptive with a literature study approach, analyzing relevant literature, documents, and studies on Christian education, religious moderation, and campus radicalism. The novelty of this research lies in its emphasis on integrating the teachings of love in Christian faith with the values of religious moderation as a contextual response to radicalism. The findings reveal that a contextual and transformative Christian education approach can strengthen national insight, encourage interfaith dialogue, and foster a spirit of peaceful coexistence. The discussion highlights the importance of curriculum reformulation, character education reinforcement, and collaboration with various parties to create an academic atmosphere free from radical influences. The conclusion of this study is that Christian Education can serve as a strong foundation for promoting religious moderation and countering campus radicalism by forming students' character grounded in love and tolerance in their daily lives.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the way humans communicate and interact, including in the life of faith and church ministry. Generation Z, who grew up in the digital world, has a different way of interacting with previous generations, more accustomed to fast, visual, and interactive information. This poses a challenge for the church to convey the gospel in a relevant manner without losing the essence of Christian teachings. This research aims to analyse effective evangelism and discipleship strategies for Generation Z through digital technology, using a qualitative approach and literature study. The results show that social media, streaming platforms, digital storytelling, and Christian influencer engagement can increase the effectiveness of church ministry. Social media also serves as a flexible discipleship space for Generation Z. However, digitalisation carries the risk of misinformation, disinformation, and reduced deep spiritual engagement. Therefore, it is important to integrate Christian values in the use of technology. In conclusion, digital technology offers great opportunities for evangelism and discipleship, but churches need to be wise in managing the risks involved. The novelty of this research lies in the use of digital technology to create interactive spaces and spiritual communities for Generation Z.

Abstract

This article discusses the significant role of Christian Religious Education in responding to the negative impacts of technology use on adolescents in the digital era. The research focuses on how religious principles, including inner peace, self-control, and meaningful goal-setting, provide a strong foundation for adolescents to confront technological challenges. The research methods involve analyzing the content of Christian religious teachings and case studies to comprehend the concrete impacts on adolescents. The findings affirm that Christian Religious Education can shape adolescent character, guide wise technology use, and provide moral foundations to address digital pressures. The discussion highlights the integration of religious values into adolescent life, the development of critical thinking skills towards digital information, and the strengthening of interpersonal relationships. The conclusion emphasizes the urgency of Christian Religious Education as a holistic solution, enabling adolescent growth in spiritual, moral, and emotional aspects amid the complexities of the digital era. Shaping character, guiding prudent technology use, and instilling moral values make Christian Religious Education key to assisting adolescents in navigating digital challenges with overall balance.

Abstract

Christian education faces significant challenges in the era of digital disruption, where technology and social changes require rapid adaptation in curricula and teaching methods. This research aims to explore how Christian values can be integrated into the digital curriculum in Christian schools, the readiness of teachers in developing faith-based pedagogies, and the potential of digital strategies to instill Christian values in Generation Alpha. The research uses a qualitative approach with a literature review, examining related literature on Christian education, transformative pedagogy, and theories of digital generations and digital literacy. The novelty of this research lies in its focus on combining Christian value integration with the rapidly developing digital education technologies and its contribution to character formation in the digital generation. The research findings indicate that the integration of Christian values into the digital curriculum should be approached holistically and contextually, utilizing technology to deepen moral and spiritual teachings. Furthermore, the readiness of Christian teachers to implement transformative faith-based pedagogies is essential for ensuring authentic character formation. The potential of digital strategies to educate Generation Alpha, as digital natives, can be maximized through interactive and innovative media. In conclusion, Christian education in the era of disruption requires a balance between technology and faith, where technology is used as a tool to introduce and reinforce Christian values in the lives of young people.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) di HKBP Jatisampurna-Bekasi bertujuan untuk meningkatkan karakter spiritual remaja melalui pembinaan guru pendamping. Latar belakang penelitian ini didorong oleh kebutuhan untuk memperkuat peran guru dalam membimbing remaja dengan karakter moral yang kuat dan nilai-nilai spiritual. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk menjadikan guru pendamping sebagai agen perubahan yang efektif dengan memberikan pengetahuan, keterampilan, dan wawasan yang diperlukan dalam pembentukan karakter remaja. Metode yang digunakan mencakup ceramah, tanya jawab, dan diskusi yang dirancang untuk memungkinkan guru pendamping memahami dan menerapkan nilai-nilai spiritual serta berbagi pengalaman dalam bimbingan remaja. Evaluasi efektivitas dilakukan melalui observasi dan umpan balik dari peserta. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa para guru pendamping mengalami peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan mereka dalam mendampingi remaja, yang tercermin dalam peningkatan antusiasme dan partisipasi aktif mereka. Kesimpulannya, pembinaan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kemampuan guru untuk membimbing remaja dan membentuk karakter spiritual mereka secara lebih baik, dengan harapan dapat memperkuat peran guru sebagai teladan dalam pembentukan integritas remaja.

Abstract

This study examines the role of Christian ethics as a strategic framework to address moral crises associated with juvenile delinquency. Juvenile delinquency is a complex social phenomenon influenced by intrinsic and extrinsic factors, including family dynamics, peer relationships, educational environments, digital media exposure, and spiritual formation. The study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, integrating data from interviews, observations, and document analysis, validated through triangulation techniques. Findings indicate that Christian ethics, grounded in biblical principles such as love, forgiveness, responsibility, and self-discipline, provides a holistic moral framework that guides adolescents toward ethical decision-making and constructive behavior. The transformative work of the Holy Spirit is highlighted as a central mechanism for internal moral renewal, fostering self-control and spiritual discernment that counteract tendencies toward delinquent behavior.

Abstract

Marriage represents a crucial phase in human existence, encompassing not only personal dimensions but also reflecting values deeply rooted in faith, culture, and social obligations. This community service aimed to strengthen the faith-based fellowship of Christian workers within the POKE Cikarang community and to support their decision-making in selecting life partners amid workplace diversity. The program involved online and onsite mentoring, worship sessions, and small group discussions using contextual and participatory methods. Activities were conducted over six months through Zoom and WhatsApp platforms, enabling flexible engagement for participants. The results showed increased spiritual maturity, stronger interpersonal connections, and a more thoughtful approach to faith-based relationships. This initiative demonstrates that spiritual communities can foster unity, growth, and resilience in pluralistic professional environments.
