Abstract

Cooking oil is one of the sources of human energy with a total consumption of 290 million tons/year by the public. The largest use of cooking oil is the household sector which generally gets its oil from traditional markets. The oil that is traded in the market is often not covered properly so that it is easily exposed to sunlight. The light that hits the oil can cause damage, including the formation of peroxide compounds. Efforts to overcome the damage include adding natural antioxidants as an alternative to synthetic antioxidants. This study aims to determine the impact of 254nm ultraviolet photooxidation on the containment of oil oxidation by the addition of tapak Dara leaf extract and TBHQ. The oil was photo oxidized with variations of 1, 3, 6, and 12 hours to determine the hold. To determine the quality of the oil, three parameters of sample testing were carried out, namely free fatty acid content, peroxide number, and water content. The results of photooxidation showed that cooking oil with tapak Dara leaf extract had lower holding activity than TBHQ. This value was measured on the peroxide number and free fatty acid content, while the measurement of the water content of the measured containment activity was better with a value that met SNI, namely <0.1%

Abstract

Pengolahan buah salak wedi menghasilkan limbah kulit salak yang mengandung antioksidan dan memungkinkan kulit buah salak untuk dikembangkan menjadi sediaan kosmetik, salah satunya sabun transparan. Proses pembuatan sabun transparan menggunakan minyak sebagai basis sabun. Perbedaan jenis minyak dapat mempengaruhi karakteristik dari sabun yang dihasilkan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karaketristik dan daya bersih sabun yang dikembangkan menggunakan ekstrak kulit salak dengan perbedaan jenis minyak yang digunakan dalam basis sabun. Kulit salak diekstraksi menggunakan metode maserasi selama 3x24 jam dengan pelarut etanol 96%, pemeriksaan antioksidan kulit salak dilakukan dengan uji kualitatif DPPH, pembuatan sabun transparan menggunakan metode panas dengan 3 formulasi yang berbeda dalam pemilihan minyak, yaitu minyak kelapa sawit, minyak kelapa dan kombinasi minyak kelapa dan minyak zaitun. Evaluasi sabun dilakukan dengan uji organoleptik, uji transparansi sabun, uji pH, pengukuran tinggi busa, uji kekerasan, uji daya bersih sabun dengan metode pengukuran kemampuan membersihkan dan kekesatan sabun oleh responden dan uji iritasi sabun dengan metode pemeriksaan tanda iritasi pada responden. Hasil uji kemudian dianalisis menggunakan uji ANOVA satu arah.  Ekstrak kulit salak yang dihasilkan berwarna coklat gelap, pekat dan memiliki aroma khas salak dan mengandung antioksidan. Sabun transparan memiliki bentuk padat, warna kuning kecoklatan dan putih dengan bau fragnance oil yang ditambahkan, transparan, nilai pH 10, tinggi busa 1,22 ± 0,41 sampai 5,18 ± 0,13 cm, kekerasan sabun 0,007-0,009 mm/g/s, nilai  daya bersih sabun berkisar 3,1-3,6. Uji iritasi sabun menunjukkan tidak adanya sukarelawan yang mengalami iritasi seperti merah, gatal dan bengkak. Ekstrak kulit salak dengan dapat diformulasikan dalam bentuk sediaan sabun transparan dengan menggunakan jenis minyak yang berbeda sebagai basis. Formulasi sabun memiliki sifat fisik yaitu pH 10 dan tinggi busa 1,22 ± 0,41 sampai 5,18 ± 0,13 cm yang sesuai dengan SNI, memiliki daya bersih yang baik dan tidak mengiritasi kulit sukarelawan. Ada pengaruh penggunaan minyak  kelapa sawit, minyak kelapa dan kombinasi minyak kelapa dan minyak zaitun terhadap tinggi busa sabun transparan yang dihasilkan.

Abstract

Belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) is a well-known traditional medicinal plant that thrives in Indonesia. The amount of fruit production per year can reach 1500 pieces per plant but is easily damaged, its shelf life is short, the taste of sour fruit causes not many people to consume the fruit fresh, in addition, have a low selling price and economic value. Therefore to increase the storage capacity, selling price, and economic value it is necessary to process into functional foods such as jelly drinks. This study aims to determine consumer acceptance of Belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) jelly drink products. The method of this research was the design of random group. The first factor is the concentrate of carrageenans (1%; 1,5%; 2%) and the second factor is the concentrate of sugars (13%, 15%). Observations on Belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) jelly drink (taste, color, aroma, suction power, and mouthfeel) by 25 untrained panelists. Organoleptic test data were analyzed by nonparametric statistical methods using the Friedman test. The results showed that the best treatments on consumer acceptance of jelly drink Belimbing wuluh (Averrhoa bilimbi L.) in an organoleptic manner was obtained from treatment with 1,5% carrageenan and 15% sugar with a product value of 2,39 with a mean value of panelist favorability to taste on 6,23; the color on 7,76; aroma on 7,19; suction power on 8,5; mouthfeel on 7,54.

Abstract

Hipertensi menjadi masalah yang serius karena satu dari tiga orang dewasa di seluruh dunia menderita hipertensi. Profil kabupaten Bojonegoro pada tahun 2017 menyebutkan jumlah penduduk usia ≥ 18 tahun yang diukur tekanan darahnya menunjukkan sekitar 20,41% mengalami hipertensi, angka ini meningkat hampir 3 kali lipat dari tahun 2014. Kader anti hipertensi dapat digunakan sebagai upaya untuk meminimalkan hipertensi. Sasaran dalam kegiatan kali ini adalah remaja yang dapat melakukan pendampingan kepada sasaran yaitu seorang yang mengalami hipertensi. Setiap kader antihipertensi memiliki 5 warga yang harus didampingi. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, simulasi dengan melakukan role play, dan pemberian penyuluhan dan pendampingan terhadap warga hipertensi. Kegiatan terdiri dari tiga bagian, kegiatan pertama adalah pemberian materi tentang hipertensi dan pengukuran tekanan darah, kegiatan kedua simulasi dengan melakukan role play dan kegiatan ketiga pemberian penyuluhan antihipertensi dan pengukuran tekanan oleh kader antihipertensi kepada sasaran dilakukan dua kali dalam satu bulan. Hasil kegiatan pelatihan kader antihipertensi terdapat peningkatan nilai post test sebesar 72,3% dan rata-rata nilai role play penyuluhan sebesar 84,85. Pendampingan oleh kader antihipertensi menunjukkan adanya penurunan kadar tekanan darah pada sasaran sebesar 28%. Kata Kunci : Pelatihan, Kader Antihipertensi, Hipertensi  ABSTRACT Hypertension is a serious problem because 1 in every 3 worldwide adults have hypertension. Health profile in Bojonegoro in 2017, the population aged usia 18 years whose blood pressure is measured, shows around 20.41% with hypertension, this has increased almost 3 times from 2014. Antihypertension cadres can be used as an effort to decreased hypertension rate. Target in this activity is adolescent that can accompany to the target program, people with hypertension. Every antihypertension cadre have to accompany 5 people with hypertension. The method used is lectures, simulations by doing role play, counseling and accompanied to people with hypertension. The training program consists of three parts, first, lectures about hypertension and measuring blood pressure, second simulations by doing role play and the last program is lectures about hypertension and measuring blood pressure by antihypertension cadre to target program. Measuring blood pressure twice in a month. After the activity, there is an increase in the knowledge of antihypertension cadres after training program that can be showed from increase in post-test score of 72,3% and average role play score 84,85. Abstract

ABSTRAK Penyakit COVID-19 mudah menular sehingga dengan cepat bisa menjangkiti banyak. Pencegahan COVID-19 dapat dilakukan dengan rutin mencuci tangan dengan sabun dan atau handsanitizer, menggunakan masker dan menjaga jarak 1 meter. Untuk menjaga lingkungan bebas dari COVID-19 perlu dilakukan penyemprotan cairan desinfektan. Kegiatan pengabdian yang menggabungkan dua atau lebih upaya pencegahan COVID-19 belum banyak dilakukan, untuk itu, perlu adanya kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat dengan tema upaya pencegahan COVID-19 yang dilakukan melalui pembagian masker, handsanitizer serta penyemprotan desinfektan. Tujuan dari pengabdian maayarakat ini adalah untuk melakukan upaya pencegahan COVID-19 dengan cara pembagian masker untuk memastikan warga menggunakan masker setiap keluar rumah, pembagian hand sanitizer serta penyemprotan desinfektan untuk memastikan rumah masyarakat tidak terkontaminasi virus penyebab COVID-19. Mitra pengabdian masyarakat adalah warga desa Sambiroto Kecamatan Kapas Kabupaten Bojonegoro. Pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini menggunakan metode pendidikan masyarakat yang dilakukan dalam bentuk sosialisasi penggunaan masker dan handsanitizer sekaligus pembagian 200 buah masker dan handsanitizer kepada warga RW 01 Desa Sambiroto Kecamatan Kapas Kabupaten Bojonegoro. Kegiatan pembagian masker dan handsanitizer dapat berhasil karena pemilihan metode yang tepat dan pelaksanaan yang optimal dengan adanya bantuan dan kerjasama dari pihak desa dan kepolisian. Kegiatan penyemprotan desinfektan dapat berhasil karena telah dilakukan di semua wilayah RW 01, baik di bangunan umum maupun di rumah pribadi warga dan juga adanya respon dan feedback positif dari warga. Untuk selanjutnya, penyemprotan desinfektan akan dilakukan secara berkala dan di seluruh wilayah desa. Kata Kunci: Pencegahan COVID-19, Pembagian masker, Hand sanitizer, Penyemprotan desinfektan      ABSTRACT COVID-19 diseases can easily spread so can quickly infect many people. Prevention of COVID-19 can be done by regularly washing hands with soap and/or hand sanitizer, using masks, and maintaining a distance of 1 meter. To keep the environment free from COVID-19, it is necessary to spray disinfectant liquid. Community service activities that combine two or more COVID-19 prevention efforts have not been widely carried out, for this reason, community service activities with the theme of COVID-19 prevention efforts are carried out through the distribution of masks, hand sanitizers, and spraying disinfectants. The purpose of this community service is to make efforts to prevent COVID-19 by distributing masks, ensuring people use masks every time they leave the house, distributing hand sanitizers and spraying disinfectants to ensure people's homes are not contaminated with the virus that causes COVID-19. Community service partners are members of Sambiroto Village, Kapas District, Bojonegoro Regency. The implementation of this community service uses community education methods which are carried out in the form of socializing the use of masks and hand sanitizers as well as distributing 200 pieces masks and hand sanitizers to members of RW 01, Sambiroto Village, Kapas District, Bojonegoro Regency. The distribution of masks and hand sanitizers was successful because the selection method is right and the implementation is optimal with the help and cooperation of the village government and the police. The activity of spraying disinfectants was successful because it had been carried out in all areas of RW 01, both in public buildings and in residents' private homes and there was also a positive response and feedback from residents. Abstract

Adolescents eating habbit can be affected by life style, including excessive consumption of soft drinks and coffee. Soft drinks and coffee contains some potentially harmful substances which can cause hypertension, such as simple sugar, synthetic sweeteners, acids and caffeine. Hypertension on adolescent can continously brougt it until their adulthood and will have a higher risk of morbidity and mortality. This study aimed to determine the relationship between soft drinks consumption and coffe consumption to hypertension rate in adolescents. It is a descriptive analytic method study using cross sectional design. The sample in this study is 72 respondents of UNUGIRI students that collected by total sampling methods. Data collected including soft drinks consumption, coffee consumption and blood pressure. Fisher Exact test was used in data analysis. Result showed 61,6% respondents consume soft drinks oftenly, and 79,2% respondents consume coffee rarely. About 16.7% of respondents are classified as hypertension. The result indicated that there is no relationship between soft drinks consumptions and hypertension and no relationship between coffee consumptions and hypertension. Perhaps, the content of sodium and sugar in soft drinks which consumed by respondents are still within safe limits. Key words: Soft Drinks, Coffee, Hypertension, Adolescent

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic period, every education unit requires an online learning process, not only for theoretical courses, but also for practical courses, including analytical chemistry practicum courses. Student perceptions of online lectures can help students in implementing the process lectures during the Covid 19 pandemic, because a good and correct lecture will help students improve their understanding and knowledge of students. This study aims to find out students perception about online practicum in analytical chemistry. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The sample was taken using simple random sampling consisted of 45 students. Data were obtained using questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Student perceptions were seen from three aspects, teaching and learning process, the ability of lecturers, facilities and infrastructure which were assessed using a likert scale. The data analysis by qualitative analysis, consisting of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Student perceptions in all aspects have a mean of 64.95% so that students 'perceptions of online practicum in analytical chemistry are positive. Students' perceptions of teaching and learning aspects have a value of 69.57% which indicates a positive perception, on aspects of lecturer competence have a value. 77.90% which shows a positive perception of the infrastructure aspect has a value of 47.39% which indicates a positive perception. Abstract

Dampak dari adanya pandemi COVID-19 pada sistem pendidikan di Indonesia adalah seluruh kegiatan pembelajaran dilaksanakan di rumah masing-masing melalui aplikasi yang tersedia. Pembelajaran online dilakukan melalui berbagai platform seperti google classroom dan grup whatsapp. Pelaksanaan pembelajaran online perlu menggunakan platform yang mampu menunjang ketecapaian tujuan mata kuliah, untuk itu, perlu diketahui platform mana yang mampu menunjang ketercapaian tujuan mata kuliah sehingga hasil belajar juga baik. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membandingkan hasil belajar yang menggunakan platform google classroom dan grup whatsapp dan seberapa efektifnya kedua platform tersebut selama pandemi COVID-19. Jenis penelitian yang dilakukan pada penelitian ini adalah penelitian quasi experiment dengan desain pretest-postest nonequivalent multiple-group design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh mahasiswa semester 2 yang mengikuti pembelajaran online dengan google classroom dan grup whatsapp. Sampel pada penelitian ini berjumlah 48 mahasiswa yang terbagi menjadi 2 kelompok sesuai perlakuan dengan jumlah masing-masing kelompok 24 mahasiswa. Data hasil belajar mahasiswa diperoleh dari hasil pre test, yaitu nilai Ujian Tengah Semester sebelum dilaksanakan pembelajaran online dan nilai post test, yaitu nilai Ujian Akhir Semester setelah dilaksanakan pembelajaran online pada kedua kelompok perlakuan, data kemudian diolah dengan menggunakan bantuan software Microsoft Excell dan SPSS 25 Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa hasil belajar kedua kelas sama sebelum diberi perlakuan dan hasil belajar kedua kelas berbeda setelah diberi perlakuan atau dengan kata lain kelas yang menggunakan platform google classroom lebih baik dari pada kelas yang menggunakan platform grup whatsapp. Pembelajaran dengan platform google classroom lebih efektif daripada dengan platform grup whatsapp.

Abstract

Hair loss is an abnormality where the amount of hair is less or more than normal with or without visible thinning. Excessive hair loss can lead to baldness. The prevalence of hair loss in women aged 14-28 years in Jakarta is 50%, and in Surabaya, it occurs in 53.3% of hijab users. One of the formulations that could be used to prevent hair loss is hair tonic formulations. Hair tonic is a cosmetic formulation that functions to stimulate hair growths, both in normal hair and in hair loss and baldness. Hair tonic can be developed from natural ingredients such as green tea leaves, celery leaves, or a combination of both. Green tea leaves contain epigallocatechin-3-gallate and flavonoids which have hair growth activity, while celery leaf (Apium graveolens L.) contain apigenin compounds that have hair growth activity. This research aims to formulation and evaluation of hair tonic contain ethanol extract of green tea leaves (Camellia Sinensis L.), celery leaf (Apium grave lens L.), and a combination of ethanol extract of green tea leaves (Camellia Sinensis L.) and celery leaf (Apium grave lens L.) in guinea pigs. This study is an experimental type of quantitative research with a true experimental design. laboratory and Completely Randomized Design (CRD). Hair tonic formulations were made with 6 formulations given to 6 groups of guinea pigs with a total of 4 guinea pigs in each group. The formulations used were negative control, positive control of celery leaf extract, positive control of green tea leaf extract, formulation of 1 green tea leaf 7,5% and celery leaf extract 2,5%, formulation of 2 green tea leaf 5% and celery leaf extract 5%, formulation 3 green tea leaf extract 2,5% and celery leaf extract 7,5%. Evaluation of hair tonic formulations was carried out by physical evaluation with organoleptic tests and pH tests. Evaluation of hair growths activity observed the hair growth of guinea pigs every 7 days for 28 days and measured it with a caliper. The results of the organoleptic test of organoleptically stable hair tonic formulations were assessed from the color, smell, and texture that did not change. The results of the pH test met the requirements for the skin's pH value of 4.5-6.5. The results of the hair growth test on hair tonic formulations showed that all formulations could grow hair in guinea pigs. Green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis L) extract, celery leaves (Apium grave lens L), and the combination of green tea leaves (Camellia sinensis L) extract and celery leaves (Apium grave lens L) extract can be formulated and used as hair growth in guinea pigs. The best grow hair fast formulation is a combination of green tea leaves extract: celery leaves extract is 2,5%:7,5%.

Abstract

Antioksidan dapat mencegah kerusakan yang diakibatkan oleh paparan radikal bebas yang berlebih seperti paparan sinar ultraviolet dan polusi udara. Buah belimbing wuluh diketahui mengandung antioksidan yang memungkinkan buah ini dikembangkan sebagai produk kosmestik seperti face spray. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melakukan tes kandungan dan aktivitas antioksidan pada ekstrak buah belimbing wuluh dan untuk mengembangkan produk face spray yang stabil dan sesuai Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI). Ekstrak buah belimbing wuluh dibuat dengan metode maserasi selama 3x24 jam dengan menggunakan pelarut metanol 96%. Skrining fitokimia dilakukan dengan metode standar dan uji aktivitas antioksidan dilakukan dengan metode DPPH. Face spray dibuat dengan menggunakan tiga formulasi dengan perbedaan jumlah ekstrak yang digunakan lalu dilakukan uji evaluasi organoleptik, homogenitas, dan pH. Hasil skrining fitokimia menunjukkan ekstrak buah belimbing wuluh positif mengandung  alkaloid, flavonoid, saponin, dan tanin. Nilai IC50 dari ekstrak buah belimbing wuluh sebesar 450,19 ppm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan semua formulasi face spray tidak berbau, warna kuning, tekstur cair encer, homogen, pH pada rentang 2-5, dan mampu melembabkan wajah pada sampai 2 jam setelah pemakaian. Face spray tidak banyak mengalami perubahan pada 4 minggu penyimpanan, perubahan hanya terjadi pada tekstur dimana mulai minggu ketiga, tekstur face spray menjadi agak kental, tidak homogen, dan mulai ada kontaminan seperti jamur dan bercak putih.
