Abstract

The cities of Batam and Singapore are centers for tourist lovers, but official government authorities and destination marketing organizations tend to underestimate the potential of these destinations to be revisited by international tourists. In particular, there is little empirical research on international tourism, culinary tourism, and international marketing. This article aims to explore the scope of promotion of Batam and Singapore as culinary destinations. For the purpose of this research, A descriptive qualitative methodology using content analysis was developed to ascertain the relationship between food and tourism in the two places observed. using content analysis was developed to ascertain the relationship between food and tourism in the two observed places. The research method was carried out by conducting interviews and field observations. Data sources were obtained from interviews with Pokdarwis in Batam and tourists in Singapore. The research results stated the integration of Foodscape and Touristscape presents a promising avenue for international tourism marketing in both Singapore and Batam. These destinations possess rich culinary landscapes and diverse attractions that appeal to a wide range of travelers. By leveraging the synergy between Foodscape, which encompasses the culinary offerings reflective of their multicultural societies, and Touristscape, which includes the physical environment and attractions, Singapore and Batam can create compelling marketing strategies to attract international tourists. The combination of authentic culinary experiences, vibrant cultural attractions, and modern amenities positions both destinations as premier tourist destinations in the region.

Abstract

The role of social media is very important for the advancement of various fields in this digital era. The existence of a pandemic and the rules that have been set, such as restrictions on the application of community activities have made many small and medium businesses, especially culinary products, have to sell their products online. The Faculty of Tourism of Pelita Harapan University has invited partners of Culinary Department SMKN7 to carry out Community Service (PkM) through a webinar entitled Training on the Use of Social Media in Promotion of Culinary Products. This PkM provides training to students of the Catering Department to be able to sell culinary products that are produced to be easily accepted by the community by utilizing the role of social media. This PkM is expected to be a lesson to broaden your horizons on how to use promotional strategies by maximizing the use of social media roles in promoting culinary products you want to sell. The method used is to conduct webinars with the zoom application. This webinar provides the results of a better understanding of the participants to increase creativity in developing strategies for compiling the content of the culinary products produced so that they are more accessible to the public.

Abstract

Kondisi pandemi saat ini dinilai menjadi sebuah momentum yang tepat untuk melakukan restrategy pariwisata Indonesia dari quantity tourism ke quality tourism. Tren wisata alternatif sedang digencarkan sesuai arahan Kementerian Pariwisata dan Ekonomi Kreatif saat ini. Pariwisata alternatif ini memiliki konsep yang berbaur dengan alam dan masyarakat lokal di sebuah desa. Oleh sebab itu desa wisata merupakan salah satu fokus yang diharapkan dapat mempercepat kebangkitan pariwisata setelah terpuruk dari Pandemi COVID-19. Untuk dapat dijadikan sebagai desa wisata, sebuah desa harus memiliki potensi wisata, minat dan kesiapan masyarakat desa, dan keunikan dari desa tersebut. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini lokasi yang akan dikembangkan adalah Desa Keranggan yang berada di Kelurahan Keranggan, Kecamatan Setu di Kota Tangerang Selatan. Tujuan khusus dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah ingin memberikan kontribusi dalam mengembangkan produk wisata di Desa Keranggan sehingga dapat menyajikan sebuah konsep pariwisata yang berkualitas. Dengan demikian pengelola dan masyarakat diharapkan dapat bersinergi dalam peningkatan jumlah kunjungan wisatawan ke desa ini. Urgensi dari kegiatan ini adalah searah dengan program dari pemerintah dalam mengembangkan desa wisata yang dapat memicu pertumbuhan pariwisata dan ekonomi khususnya di masa Pandemi COVID-19 saat ini

communities. The agrotourism trend is a challenge and an opportunity to increase local community income while preventing land conversion from agriculture to other uses. Interpretation is an inseparable part of shaping the visitor experience at tourist attractions including agrotourism. Visitors who know the tourist destination well will appreciate and support agrotourism development efforts more and will tell others to visit the place. Sidan Village is one of the villages in Gianyar Regency that has developed organic farming and obtained organic certification in 2019. Mentik Susu rice is produced by farming with a subak irrigation system and the use of compost. With its agrotourism attractions, it is very important to increase the understanding of tourist village managers to develop interpretation efforts. For this reason, in this Community Service, interpretation training was carried out, including socialization of the importance of interpretation, benefits, types and manufacturing processes, with 30 participants. The implementation method will be carried out in the form of workshops for tourist village managers, Tourism Awareness Groups, and the local community. The results of this Community Service are increased knowledge of participants about the benefits and types of interpretation, as well as follow-up to the interpretation-making process.

Abstract

The growing phenomenon of sharing travel reviews online has become a key focus in urban tourism destination marketing. This study aims to analyze the influence of tourist perception and tourist experience on positive electronic word of mouth (e-WOM) regarding the Pantai Indah Kapuk tourist destination. The sample consists of 205 tourists who visited Pantai Indah Kapuk within the past year and are active social media users, selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the Structural Equation Modeling–Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) method. The results indicate that both tourist perception and tourist experience have a positive and significant effect on positive e-WOM. Among the two, tourist experience emerged as the most dominant factor in encouraging positive e-WOM. The analysis using SEM-PLS revealed that both tourist perception (path coefficient = 0.232; p = 0.001) and tourist experience (path coefficient = 0.479; p = 0.000) positively and significantly influence positive e-WOM, with tourist experience as the most dominant factor. Theoretically, this study reinforces the application of the Theory of Planned Behavior in digital tourism contexts. The research is limited to one urban destination and respondents who are mostly young and active on social media. Future studies are recommended to cover broader destinations, include more diverse tourist segments, and apply a longitudinal design to capture behavioral dynamics over time These findings suggest that destination managers should focus not only on branding narratives but also on enhancing the overall tourist experience through improved facilities, engaging events, and effective social media engagement strategies.

Abstract

Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat merupakan bagian dari Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi yang bertujuan untuk berbagi wawasan dan pengetahuan kepada Masyarakat. Desa Wisata Kampung Tua Bakau Serip hadir di Kota Batam sejak Januari 2019 lalu dengan luas hutan tujuh hektar. Desa yang juga dikenal dengan nama Desa Wisata Pandang Tak Jemu ini mengembangkan ekowisata mangrove dan sudah dinobatkan sebagai salah satu dari 50 desa terbaik yang mendapat Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia 2022. Dengan berbagai daya tarik wisata alam dan budaya yang dimiliki, sangat penting untuk meningkatkan pemahaman pengelola desa wisata untuk mengembangkan upaya interpretasi. Interpretasi merupakan bagian yang tidak terpisahkan dari pembentukan pengalaman pengunjung di daya tarik wisata. Pengunjung yang mengenal tujuan wisata dengan baik akan lebih menghargai dan ikut dalam kegiatan-kegiatan yang menunjang upaya pelestarian. Adapun tujuan dari pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dilakukan adalah: (1) Memberi pengetahuan tentang pentingnya interpretasi, manfaat dan jenis-jenis interpretasi yang dapat dilakukan (2) Mengkaji sumberdaya yang dimiliki oleh desa wisata Kampung Tua Bakau Serip. Hasil dari Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat dapat disimpulkan bahwa Kelompok Sadar Wisata dan Masyarakat meningkat pemahamannya tentang interpretasi dan akan berupaya untuk membuat media interpretasi di lokasi.

Abstract

Pengembangan desa wisata dipercaya merupakan salah satu jalan dalam upaya meningkatkan ekonomi masyarakat, di luar mata pencaharian utama. Hal ini sejalan dengan fokus utama pembangunan pariwisata berkelanjutan, dimana kualitas hidup atau kesejahteraan masyarakat menjadi yang utama, selain pelestarian budaya dan lingkungan. Desa Sawarna sudah menjadi desa wisata yang banyak dikunjungi wisatawan, bahkan sudah masuk dalam 15 besar dalam penjurian Anugerah Desa Wisata Indonesia untuk kategori Berkembang. Keindahan alam pantai yang dimiliki desa ini menjadi daya tarik utama bagi wisatawan yang berkunjung. Homestay sebagai salah satu jenis akomodasi, sudah banyak dikembangkan oleh masyarakat lokal Desa Sawarna. Homestay menjadi alternatif tempat menginap bagi wisatawan, yang memberikan kesempatan untuk berinteraksi secara langsung dengan masyarakat. Pengembangan homestay ini sedikit banyak memberikan dampak positif bagi peningkatan ekonomi masyarakat. Namun demikian masih ada beberapa tantangan yang dihadapi, seperti belum optimalnya koordinasi antar stakeholder, pemasaran yang belum efektif, dan pengelolaan lingkungan yang masih terbatas. Untuk itu, Fakultas Hospitality dan Pariwisata Universitas Pelita Harapan dengan dukungan DRTPM kemendikbud RI, bertujuan untuk melakukan pelatihan Tata Kelola Pariwisata Berkelanjutan, guna meningkatkan pengembangan desa wisata Sawarna yang lebih berkelanjutan, baik secara ekonomi, sosial budaya dan lingkungan. Peserta dari pelatihan ini adalah pemilik homestay. Metode yang dilakukan diawali dengan sosialisasi, pelatihan serta pendampingan dan evaluasi. Hasil dari pelatihan ini sangat positif, masyarakat memahami dan bermaksud menjalankan tata kelola pariwisata berkelanjutan dalam pengelolaan homestay.

Abstract

Hotel is one of the important facilities to accommodate tourist while at the destination. Because of that, tourist needs various references to choose a hotel that fits the purpose. One of the references that can be used by tourists is social media which is a form of technological advances from the internet. Social media can provide the information needed by tourists both from hotel rates, location, facilities, description and reviews of the hotel. Therefore, this research is conducted to determine how the use of social media in the decision-making process of domestic tourists in choosing a hotel, and knowing the stages taken by tourists in determining hotel choices. This study uses a qualitative research approach with narrative/descriptive research methods. In collecting data, researchers use the interview method, structured and unstructured for more in-depth interviews with 20 people consisting of 2 social media expert, 2 hotel employees and 16 active social media users. Abstract

Kampung Wisata Prenggan, Yogyakarta, merupakan desa wisata budaya yang mengandalkan UMKM lokal sebagai penggerak utama ekonomi dan pengalaman wisata. Namun demikian, pelaku UMKM masih menghadapi permasalahan prioritas berupa kualitas layanan yang belum terstandar serta penerapan hygiene dan sanitasi yang belum konsisten, khususnya pada usaha kuliner dan aktivitas yang berinteraksi langsung dengan wisatawan. Kondisi ini berpotensi menurunkan kepuasan pengunjung, kepercayaan wisatawan, dan daya saing destinasi. Program Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas pelaku UMKM melalui pelatihan pelayanan prima dan hygiene sanitasi yang aplikatif dan sesuai dengan konteks desa wisata berbasis komunitas. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi tahapan sosialisasi, pelatihan intensif selama dua hari (12–13 Desember 2025), penerapan teknologi sederhana, pendampingan, evaluasi, serta perencanaan keberlanjutan program. Luaran yang ditargetkan adalah meningkatnya pemahaman dan praktik pelayanan prima, penerapan standar kebersihan dasar yang konsisten, serta terbentuknya kualitas layanan yang lebih seragam antar UMKM. Secara strategis, program ini mendukung pencapaian SDG 3 (Good Health and Well-Being), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), dan SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) melalui penguatan ekonomi lokal dan pariwisata berbasis komunitas yang berkelanjutan. Kegiatan PkM ini menerapkan Global Code of Ethics for Tourism melalui penghormatan terhadap budaya dan nilai lokal dalam pelayanan prima berbasis kearifan Kampung Wisata Prenggan, perlindungan kesehatan dan martabat manusia melalui pelatihan hygiene dan sanitasi, penerapan prinsip keberlanjutan dengan praktik layanan yang ramah lingkungan, peneguhan tanggung jawab dan profesionalisme pelaku pariwisata sebagai pemangku kepentingan utama, serta pemberdayaan pelaku usaha dan pekerja pariwisata lokal melalui peningkatan kompetensi layanan secara etis dan berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The Caci Dance culture from East Nusa Tenggara, Indonesia, is a cultural performing art and is basically a form of war dance performed by the younger generation based on the principles of brotherhood and mutual respect as a form of gratitude. The purpose of this research is to analyse how the Caci Dance as a form of art-based communication instils the meaning of collective cultural values for the Manggarai people in Flores. This research uses a qualitative approach and ethnographic methods. Primary data was obtained through in-depth semi-structured interviews with several stakeholders such as traditional village heads, religious leaders and the government. The findings from this study are that Caci dance as a performance art also has an entertainment function in addition to conveying social messages. In the Caci Dance, the message to be conveyed, apart from providing entertainment through dance and musical performances, is also related to moral encouragement to pay more attention to sustainable efforts in preserving the Earth we inhabit. On the other hand, the Caci Dance depicts the cultural values of collectivity held by the Manggarai community which can also describe the characteristics of the community. The collective values believed by the Manggarai community as their characteristics are the values of unity and mutual respect which are also seen from the process of involvement as an effort to preserve the Caci Dance.
