Abstract

Purpose: This classroom action research aimed to improve junior high school students’ conceptual understanding of geometry through the integration of visual media within a cooperative learning framework. Methodology: The study was conducted in two cycles, involving 21 students, and followed the systematic stages of planning, acting, observing, and reflecting. During the pre-cycle, traditional lecture-based instruction led to low engagement and unsatisfactory academic performance, with only 42.86% of students achieving the minimum mastery criterion (KKM). In Cycle I, the implementation of visual media such as diagrams and illustrations combined with cooperative learning activities, led to a modest increase in students’ average scores and engagement levels. However, the mastery rate remained at 52.38%, indicating the need for instructional refinement. In Cycle II, improvements in media quality, structured group facilitation, and enhanced teacher support contributed to significant learning gains. The average class score rose to 80.95, and 90.48% of students met the KKM. Observations also revealed marked improvements in student activeness, collaboration, and confidence in expressing ideas. Findings: The findings confirm that visual media, when effectively integrated into cooperative learning, significantly enhances students' conceptual understanding of geometry-related content. Significance: This research suggests that visual learning strategies should be systematically embedded into science instruction to support deeper comprehension and promote inclusive, student-centered classroom environments.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the types of errors made by students in working on geometry questions of the Minimum Competency Assessment (MCA) type according to Newman's stages in terms of cognitive style. The method used in this research is qualitative. Data collection techniques were carried out through cognitive style tests, geometry test questions, and unstructured interviews. The instruments in this research were the GEFT test and the MCA type geometry test. The research took place a junior high school in Tasikmalaya, the subjects in this research were class IX students who had consistent cognitive styles and made different mistakes. The data analysis techniques used are according to Miles and Huberman, namely data reduction, data presentation and verification. The findings from this research were that Field Dependent subjects made mistakes at the understanding, process skills and encoding. The contributing factors are that they did not master the material, were not being careful in calculations, and were not used to checking answer results. Meanwhile, Independent Field subjects made mistakes at the process skills and encoding. The causal factor is that they were not used to doing large number calculation operations. The implications of this study suggest that teachers should design differentiated learning strategies that consider students’ cognitive styles to minimize specific types of errors and enhance overall problem-solving abilities.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas butir soal ujian sekolah bidang studi matematika kelas IX SMP Islam Hidayatul Ummah Tahun Pelajaran 2020/2021. Penelitian ini merupakan jenis penelitian kuantitatif deskriptif. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IX SMP Islam Hidayatul Ummah dengan objek yaitu berupa lembar jawaban siswa. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan teknik Dokumentasi. Dan data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan bantuan program iteman sebelum akhirnya dapat ditarik kesimpulan. Berdasarkan hasil analisis yang telah dilakukan, dapat dilihat bahwa : (1) Tingkat kesukaran butir soal, dari 25 butir soal yang disediakan, sebanyak 44 persen butir soal memiliki tingkat kesukaran (TK) sedang (berada pada interval yang tergolong ke dalam kriteria soal yang baik. 0 persen butir soal berada pada interval yang tergolong dalam kriteria butir soal yang mudah. sedangkan 56 persen lainnya berada pada interval yang tergolong dalam kriteria soal yang sukar atau sulit. (2) Daya beda butir soal, dari 25 butir soal yang disediakan, 44 persen butir soal memiliki daya beda yang diterima dengan baik, 8 persen butir soal diterima dengan revisi,16 persen butir soal di perbaiki, sedangkan 32 persen butir soal lainnya dibuang. Sedangkan untuk pengecoh, 84 persen butir soal memiliki 3 option yang berfungsi dari 4 option yang disediakan. 16 persen memiliki 2 option yang berfungsi dari 4 option yang disediakan.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah model pembelajaran kooperatife tipe team game tournament (TGT) dengan media motul efektif terhadap hasil belajar. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian komparatif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas VII MTs Al Qadir Menemneg. Penentuan sampel dilakukan dengan purposive sampling. Sampel penelitian terdiri dari 23 siswa. Pengambilan data menggunakan instrument test berupa uraian pretest dan posttest. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji non parametrik Wilcoxon pada signifikasi 5% menggunakan software SPSS Statistik versi 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa: (1) nilai P<0.05 yaitu 0.00 artinya H0 ditolak dan Ha diterima artinya ada perbedaan yang nyata/significant penggunaan model pembelajaran Team Game Tournament dengan menggunakan media MOTUL terhadap hasil belajar. (2) Metode pembelajaran kooperatife tipe TGT dengan media motul efektif terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada materi operasi hitung bilangan bulat, dimana rata-rata hasil belajar siswa meningkat dari 64,35 menjadi 85,22.
