Abstract

This study employs a descriptive quantitative research approach to analyze and test the application of the Analysis of Differential Costs in management decision making regarding the acceptance or rejection of special order prices in MSMEs. Data was collected through interviews and questionnaires, and the analysis focused on the differential costs incurred by Kedai Vivi, a representative MSME, in relation to alternative products. The results of the analysis indicated that accepting special orders in November 2021 yielded a profit of Rp. 1,119,800 for Kedai Vivi, while rejecting the special order would result in a profit of only Rp. 915,790. The findings highlight a positive differential profit, indicating that the differential cost was lower than the selling price set by MSME Kedai Vivi. This study provides valuable insights into the effective utilization of differential cost analysis in supporting management decision making within MSMEs, with implications for enhancing profitability and competitiveness in the global market. Highlights: Differential cost analysis: Examining the differences in costs associated with alternative products or decisions, enabling informed management decision making. Abstract

This study investigates the financial performance of transportation and logistics companies listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) during the period of 2017-2022, specifically focusing on the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. Analyzing key financial ratios including Return On Assets (ROA), Current Ratio (CR), Debt To Equity Ratio (DER), and Total Asset Turnover (TATO), the research aims to identify differences in performance before and during the pandemic. Utilizing a comparative research design and employing the Wilcoxon signed rank test for data analysis, findings reveal a significant decrease in Total Asset Turnover during the pandemic, indicating decreased asset efficiency. However, no significant differences were observed in ROA, CR, and DER, suggesting relatively stable profitability, liquidity, and solvency ratios despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. These results offer valuable insights for industry stakeholders, policymakers, and investors, aiding in strategic decision-making and resilience planning for future crises. Abstract

General Background: Employee retention remains a critical concern in human resource management, particularly in competitive business environments where organizations must maintain workforce stability to sustain operational continuity. Specific Background: PT Harian Bhirawa Surabaya experienced fluctuating employee turnover rates, with a recorded level exceeding acceptable organizational standards, raising concerns regarding leadership practices, workplace conditions, and employee attitudes toward their jobs. Knowledge Gap: Previous studies showed inconsistent findings regarding the relationships among transformational leadership, work environment, job satisfaction, and turnover intention, necessitating further empirical verification using alternative analytical approaches. Aims: This study aims to analyze the relationships between transformational leadership and work environment on turnover intention, as well as to examine the mediating role of job satisfaction among employees at PT Harian Bhirawa Surabaya. Results: The findings demonstrate that transformational leadership shows a significant negative relationship with turnover intention, while the work environment shows a significant positive relationship with turnover intention. Transformational leadership and work environment are both positively related to job satisfaction, and job satisfaction shows a negative relationship with turnover intention. Job satisfaction partially mediates the relationships between transformational leadership and turnover intention, as well as between work environment and turnover intention. Novelty: The study introduces the use of SmartPLS-based structural equation modeling to examine mediation relationships among organizational behavioral variables in the Indonesian media industry context. Implications: These findings provide managerial insights into designing leadership strategies and workplace arrangements to manage employee retention and organizational stability. Highlights: Leadership Behavior Demonstrates a Strong Inverse Relationship With Employee Withdrawal Tendencies. Workplace Physical and Organizational Conditions Correlate With Employee Retention Dynamics Through Satisfaction Mechanisms. Mediation Analysis Confirms Satisfaction as a Bridging Construct Linking Organizational Factors and Employee Resignation Tendencies.
